Confidence in US military at two-decade low – poll

Support for the armed forces has plummeted since President Joe Biden took office

Fewer Americans are confident in their military than at any point since 1997, according to a Gallup poll published on Monday. With trust in the armed forces dropping ten points in the last two years, the services are currently grappling with a historic recruitment crisis.

Conducted in June, the poll found 60% of respondents expressing “a great deal” or “quite a lot” of confidence in the military, down from 64% last year. Public confidence in the military last dipped to 60% in 1997, and has not been lower since 1988, when it sat at 58%.

Public support for the US services soared following the 9/11 attacks in 2001, with the armed forces enjoying 82% approval when President George W. Bush invaded Iraq in 2003. While the surge of post-9/11 patriotism receded as the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan dragged on, approval sat in the mid-70s until 2020, when it began to steadily decline year after year.

Republicans are traditionally more likely to back the military than Democrats, however their confidence has plummeted from 91% in 2020 to 68% today.

Republican politicians and pundits have been some of the Pentagon’s fiercest critics since Biden took office in 2021, and have lambasted the military for its vaccine mandates and its embrace of ‘woke’ politics – exemplified by its provision of ‘sex reassignment’ surgery to transgender troops, its teaching of ‘critical race theory,’ and its efforts to scrap gendered language in the barracks.

Biden’s withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2021 – which saw 13 US troops killed in a suicide bombing and tens of billions of dollars worth of US equipment fall into Taliban hands – also earned scathing condemnation from both sides of the political spectrum.

With public support falling, the armed forces are struggling to fill their ranks. Leaders from the army, navy, and air force told a Congressional hearing in March that they all expect to fall short of their recruitment targets this year, after the army experienced its worst year for recruitment last year since the abolition of the draft in 1973.

Of the17-24-year-olds typically targetedby military recruiters,80% are physically unfit for service due to obesity, drug use, or poor mental health, according to a Pentagon study published in March. Furthermore, only 9% of this age group are interested in joining in the first place, Army Secretary Christine Wormuth told CNBC News in October.

Flannery Associates LLC, an agricultural land buyer, is seeking more than $510 million in damages against defendants that include Barnes Family Ranch Associates LLC and Kirby Hill Associates LLC over the sale of properties in the Jepson Prairie and Montezuma Hills area of Solano County, California, between San Francisco and Sacramento. ( claiming they conspired to inflate the price of real estate by hundreds of millions of dollars and overcharged the company in violation of U.S. antitrust law.)

"If the conspirators had acted independently, they could have each individually negotiated a sale with Flannery and made tens of millions of dollars in profits," Flannery's attorneys said in the complaint. "But the conspirators wanted to make hundreds of millions."

In the lawsuit, Flannery said land it has acquired is used for interstate commerce. The company said various energy and power entities had contracts or proposals to operate on Flannery-owned land in the region.

The lawsuit alleged "the price-fixing conspiracy has resulted in the suppression and elimination of competition, leading to artificially high prices and fewer transactions."

The case is Flannery Associates LLC v. Barnes Family Ranch Associates LLC et al, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of California, No. 2:23-cv-00927-TLN-AC.

‘Mystery company’ buys $1B worth of land near US Air Force base

Flannery Associates, a limited liability company that is registered in Delaware, has purchased around 52,000 acres of mostly farmland near Travis Air Force Base in Solano County, which lies about 60 miles northeast of San Francisco.

The firm, which in five years has become the largest landowner in the county, is now the subject of an inquiry by the federal government, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The buying spree by Flannery has led the Agriculture Department to request information on the company’s ownership structure, according to the Journal.

lawyer for Flannery told the Journal the company is controlled by US nationals and that 97% of its invested capital is from American investors while the rest is from British and Irish sources.

Last month, company sent a formal response letter to the Agriculture Department, which was provided to The Post by Flannery lawyer Richard Melnyk.

“No foreign person…or group of foreign persons holds any significant interest or substantial control…over Flannery, either now or at the time of any land purchase made by Flannery,” according to the letter, dated June 21.

The Air Force’s Foreign Investment Risk Review Office, which has been investigating the purchases by Flannery for months, has not been able to determine who is behind the company, according to the Journal.

Flannery once told Solano County officials that the firm “is owned by a group of families looking to diversify their portfolio from equities into real assets, including agricultural land in the western United States.”

Lawmakers, however, are demanding answers.

“We don’t know who Flannery is, and their extensive purchases do not make sense to anybody in the area,” said Rep. John Garamendi, (D-Caifl.) the top Democrat on the House Armed Services Committee’s readiness panel.

“The fact that they’re buying land purposefully right up to the fence at Travis raises significant questions.”

Flannery is not required to disclose its owners because it is an LLC that was registered in Delaware.

Melnyk refused further requests for comment by The Post.

Before bringing any felony charges against former President Trump, prosecutors must first seek an indictment from a grand jury.

Recent signals suggest the indictment vote could be imminent.

Federal grand juries consist of between 16 to 23 people and meet behind closed doors. At least 16 jurors must be present for a quorum, and at least 12 must vote in favor of the indictment for it to be returned.

The grand jurors — all D.C. residents, in this case — are asked to vote on whether there is probable cause to believe the individual in question committed a crime. It’s a much lower standard than prosecutors would need to prove at trial: proof beyond a reasonable doubt.

The charges prosecutors would seek remain unclear. After the vote, the indictment would under normal procedure be given to the duty magistrate judge in D.C.’s federal courthouse.

On Tuesday, Judge Moxila Upadhyaya is scheduled as the duty magistrate. A separate judge would oversee the trial.

DIA celebrates Pride Month: ‘Be proud of who you are’

Building on the momentum from last year’s Pride Month event and other Pride events throughout the intelligence community, DIA hosted its second annual Pride Month event June 18 at its headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Kristin Beck, the first openly transgender retired Navy SEAL, was the keynote speaker, and the event featured a panel of military officials at DIA who addressed current issues facing the LGBT community and addressed policies affecting the community in the DOD.

DIA Director Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn’s opening remarks stressed the importance of maximizing the potential of every employee at DIA.

“I want everybody to come in every day to be their best,” Flynn said. “I don’t want people to be worrying about who they are or that somebody might say something negative. We can’t live like that.”

Fostering an inclusive and accepting environment that is comfortable and proud of its diversity has been one of the core principles for Flynn during his time at DIA. He concluded his remarks simply, but firmly: “Be proud of who you are.”

Kristin Beck delivered a poignant keynote address, imploring attendees to stop defining an individual simply by what they see on the outside, and accept and respect who that individual truly is on the inside.

“We are all, all of us created equal, and we all deserve equal justice,” she said.

Beck shared her experience in the military as someone who was unable to communicate their true identity and the pain that such a secret can cause.

Born Christopher Beck, Kristin led a distinguished career serving with Special Operations Forces as part of SEAL Team One, SEAL Team Five, SEAL Team Six, and SOCOM Headquarters. She also had a decorated career, and was awarded the Bronze Star with Valor, Purple Heart, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, amongst other awards before retiring in 2011. In 2013, Beck came out as transgender and has since been a staunch advocate of LGBT equality in the military, as well as equality in American society more broadly. She frequently speaks at government-related events, LGBT conferences, as well as other events nationwide.

“The world is looking at us,” Beck explained. “You can change the wallpaper, but I’m still right here. I can still do the job I was doing in uniform.”

Events such as this one allow for a constructive and educational forum that can enable employees and those in leadership positions to understand the diversity of the workforce and work to enhance policies to ensure that every individual is treated equally and enjoys an inclusive and accepting work environment.

A bombshell new audio recording confirms that Joe Biden repeatedly and aggressively sexually assaulted his prepubescent daughter Ashley when she was a very young girl.

Project Veritas has just released information and audio about how they came by the Ashley Biden diary. In the video below, they include the audio call from one of the people who found Ashley’s diary, and she details how she came by them. She also warns, “The diary is pretty crazy.”

But perhaps the most shocking thing in the video is that it includes a conversation Project Veritas has with Ashley Biden, who confirms that the items are hers and tries to arrange with Project Veritas to get the incriminating material about her father back.

Then Ashley says that she doesn’t want to “have to get Secret Service involved in this” because it’s a “whole process.” But she said, “I am Ashley Biden; it is my stuff.” She confirms that the bag that was found was also hers as well. She tries to arrange for a meeting to turn over the material.

Now this was happening in October 2020. PV then sent a letter to Biden’s presidential campaign asking for comment but didn’t publish the diary. Meanwhile, the Biden campaign allegedly notified the DOJ about the situation, and they immediately opened a case, according to PV. PV then turned over the items to law enforcement.

But that wasn’t the end of it, as Project Veritas and James O’Keefe found out. Project Veritas journalists were raided by the FBI in November 2021 (after Joe Biden came to power). They seized a boatload of electronic devices — 47 — including laptops, cellphones, and thumb drives. They said no one was arrested or charged with any crime. They also note that the NY Times’ Michael Schmidt contacted them immediately after the raids. Hmm, who told him about the raids? PV accused the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York of “spying” on their journalists even before the raid.

A judge ordered the DOJ to stop the extraction of material from the phones of James O’Keefe and other people who were connected with Project Veritas at the time.

As we reported, two people who originally found the diary and the other material pled guilty to federal charges about it. As we noted, there were allegedly entries about inappropriate showers in the diary.

While the White House said Hunter Biden's art patrons would remain anonymous, Business Insider on Monday identified Naftali as a patron of the first son's work, a revelation that prompted ethics concerns. Hunter Biden has used his artwork to earn at least $1.3 million as he faces legal battles over his failure to pay federal income taxes.

Federal law allows minors to donate to political campaigns, though they must do so "knowingly and voluntarily" with their own money. Naftali's children are the beneficiaries of a trust set up by their grandparents, court records obtained by the Free Beacon show, and money they receive from the trust is considered their own income under federal law. Still, Naftali could not direct her children to use money from the trust to contribute to liberal politicians—that decision would have to come from the children themselves.

If Naftali directed or paid her children to make the contributions after she no longer could, she would likely be guilty of running a straw donation scheme. Federal prosecutors have uncovered such schemes in recent months.

"Their parents can't say, 'If you donate, we'll give you your money later, or we'll give you a really big Christmas gift,'" said Kendra Arnold, executive director of campaign finance watchdog Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust. "The facts in this case line up to indicate that could have happened here."

The Naftali family did not return a request for comment.

Beyond the underage contributions, Naftali's children have in many cases followed their mother's political donation habits. Three Naftali children in 2020, for example, sent maximum contributions to the Biden campaign after their mother gave the campaign more than $5,000. The children have also contributed to more obscure Democrats, including New York's Antonio Delgado, Iowa's Abby Finkenauer, and California's Asif Mahmood. All of those contributions came after Naftali herself could no longer contribute to the campaigns.

Naftali has funneled millions of dollars to Democrats since 2004. Her children have contributed more than $146,000 to 46 Democratic politicians and committees since 2012, federal disclosures show.

Hunter Biden held his first art show in New York City in November 2021. Just one month later, Naftali met with White House policy adviser Richard Figueroa, the Free Beacon reported. Naftali went on to visit the White House at least 12 more times—in one case, she landed a private meeting with senior White House adviser Neera Tanden, visitor logs show.

The White House pledged to install "reasonable safeguards" around Hunter Biden's art show. In addition to Naftali, however, the first son is reportedly aware of at least one other buyer: Los Angeles attorney Kevin Morris, who loaned Hunter Biden millions of dollars to pay off back taxes.

A six-year-old girl who died after her leg was severed by the propeller of a boat that her mother was driving has been described as a 'wonderful blessing'.

Little Sunni Wasden died after the 'tragic incident' on Lake Pleasant, in Arizona, on Friday.

Police confirmed that her mother, Camille, 32, was not believed to be 'impaired' at the time of the incident and the family were 'experienced boaters'.

Blake Wasden posted a video to social media of the family wakeboarding and swimming from their new 2024 Ri230 Centurion boat worth $175,000 on his Instagram on July 3 – less than a month before the accident.

Camille, a post anesthesia care nurse at Honor Health, was driving the boat near Paul's Hideaway, when Sunni suffered the fatal injury.

Cops confirmed the couple, who have three children, were on the water with another family.

In total, there were 12 people on board the boat, including six children, and they had been swimming and wakeboarding prior to the collision.

Authorities said Camille and the other adults were all unaware that her daughter was still in the water.

Law enforcement said that they had been on the water since 7am, and the incident was reported at 11am.

The mother-of-three began to accelerate to pull another member of the family who was wakeboarding, and the schoolgirl was run over by the boat.

Blake was in the water holding onto a wakeboard when he noticed someone in the water and swam to his child.

White Hats on Sunday arrested a U.S. Army major and a command sergeant major who had pledged allegiance to Joseph Biden and were instructing subordinates on how to wage urban warfare against law-abiding citizens, a source in General Eric M. Smith’s office told Real Raw News.

The disgraces to the uniform were Major David Dunbar and CSM Nema Mobarakzadeh, the 10th Mountain Division’s staff officer and senior non-commissioned officer, respectively, at Fort Drum.

Our source did not detail the actual arrests but said they took place off post, after dark, on July 27.

A JAG affidavit reviewed by Real Raw News states that Dunbar and Mobarakzadeh recruited 250 10th Mountain Division soldiers into a “private army” whose mission was to suppress civil insurrection if Joseph Biden lost the 2024 presidential election, and details their nefarious plan to storm Trump supporters’ homes and seize their weapons at gunpoint. According to the affidavit, Dunbar and Mobarakzadeh recruited volunteers and conducted urban warfare drills behind Garrison Commander Col. Matthew R. Myer’s back.

Our source said White Hats presently have no evidence incriminating Myer. Nor does he know whether JAG will issue indictments on the 250 soldiers that participated in house-to-house search and seizure drills.

Dunbar and Mobarakzadeh, he added, enlisted only soldiers who said the 2020 election was equitable and legitimate, that Donald J. Trump caused January 6 and deserves imprisonment, and that the Biden administration is the lawful governing body of the United States. The soldiers also pledged allegiance to Joseph Biden instead of “…to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands…”

Somehow, Dunbar and Mobarakzadeh had financed a property rental, a 20-acre tract of cleared land about 15 miles west of Drum, on which they erected a “plywood town” to simulate attacks on American citizens. The soldiers were tutored on breaching doors, setting explosives, and killing Trump supporters. Their extracurricular training also included lessons on “where to shoot a Trump supporter for maximum effect,” our source said.

“They were told people who support Trump have tactical gear like body armor and to take headshots not center mass. They did live-fire exercises on mock targets,” he said.

Interestingly, the soldiers did not use military-issued weapons; they used personal weapons and ammunition bought from various firearms dealers in upstate New York, and improvised explosives such as Molotov Cocktails and nail bombs.

“The training revolved around a singular hatred for President Trump,” our source said.

After Dunbar and Mobarakzadeh were arrested, White Hats demolished the plywood town and found brass—military slang for an ejected cartridge—scattered about the area.

We asked our source how Dunbar and Mobarakzadeh planned to wage war with only 250 troops in heavily Right-leaning upstate New York.

“That’s the million-dollar question. There may be more; these sects may be forming at other installations. Right now, we know about the 250.”

The 250, he added, included all enlisted ranks from privates to a first sergeant.

In closing, we again asked our source why White Hats hadn’t arrested everyone involved since their actions were treasonous and violated the Uniform Code of Military Justice and the U.S. Constitution.

“Look, there is an investigation. I can tell you we have to rule out psychological manipulation or chemical coercion. That’s all I can say right now.”

Before publishing this article, Real Raw News solicited comments from Fort Drum and the Watertown City Police Department. A Drum’s Public Affairs Office spokesperson said Dunbar and Mobarakzadeh were on “emergency leave,” and a Watertown sheriff’s deputy said the PD had no info on an off-post training facility.
