The Daily Mail reported that Moscow was attacked by several suspected Ukrainian drones Tuesday morning ostensibly in revenge for Russian attacks on Kyiv.

The early morning assault specifically targeted the wealthiest areas of the city, where Putin and multiple Russian elites have homes.

One local resident pointed out the attacks all happened within “an earshot” of Putin’s official residence in Novo-Ogaryovo.

Here are the full details from the Daily Mail:

Several buildings were damaged in wealthy suburbs of Moscow, including the elite district of Rublyovka to the south-west of the capital.

One drone exploded into a mushroom cloud near the village of Usovo, which is just down the road from Putin’s official Novo-Ogaryovo residence.

Explosive drones also struck blocks of flats in Leninsky Prospekt and Profsoyuznaya Street about six miles from the centre of Moscow, reportedly wounding several residents and damaging the buildings.

Tuesday’s early morning raid targeted some of Moscow’s wealthiest areas including a western enclave where Putin and the elite have residences. Two people were injured while some Russians in two damaged apartment blocks were briefly evacuated, according to Moscow’s mayor.

The New York Times notes that this marked the first time strikes hit civilian areas in the Russia’s capital.

House Freedom Caucus Leaves Open Possibility of Filing Motion to Vacate the Chair if McCarthy Pushes Through Debt Deal

House Freedom Caucus Chairman Scott Perry on Tuesday left open the possibility of filing a motion to vacate and get rid of McCarthy if the Speaker pushes through the debt deal.

Under new House rules, it only takes one member of Congress, from either party, to bring a ‘motion to vacate’ which forces a vote on removing the Speaker of the House.

It would only take a simple majority vote to remove McCarthy.

On Tuesday members of the House Freedom Caucus held a press conference to express their disapproval of the debt ceiling agreement between McCarthy and Joe Biden.

”This deal fails, fails completely…we will do everything in our power to stop it and end it now,” Perry said.

DC Water Possibly Contaminated Officials Issue “Boil Water Advisory”

On Monday morning, DC Water issued an emergency “boil water advisory” for several neighborhoods in Northeast Washington DC.

In the advisory officials’ warned residents of Fort Lincoln, Langdon, and Woodridge neighborhoods that their water was unfit to drink or cook with unless it was boiled first.

The advisory also warned residents to not use water for washing vegetables, brushing teeth or giving water to pets.

Officials at DC Water announced the advisory after residents in Northeast DC lost water pressure.

According to WUSA 9 the advisor was issued out of caution “because it may have been possible for bacteria or other disease-causing organisms to enter the water through cracks, breaks or joints in the distribution system.”

The event will take place June 17 at the Salt Shed Fairgrounds from 10 am to 4 pm and is sponsored by Lululemon.

According to a report from Block Club Chicago, “This free event, co-sponsored by Block Club, is a collaboration between the queer party producers of Slo ‘Mo and the owners of Kido, an award-winning kids boutique in the South Loop.”

Day-long activities include fan decorating, drag dress-up and makeovers,” the report continues. “Natty Bwoy Bikes & Boards, a local skateboarding school, will facilitate a skating area, and legendary house music choreographer Boogie McClarin will teach dance lessons, Kaza said.”

The event will culminate in an all-ages “dance party.”

“The dance party will put all of these components together,” Kido owner Keewa Nurullah told Block Club. “They’ll have learned the dances, they’ll have the drag artwork on their face and they’ll have had this entire day of fun to celebrate.”

Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang has reassured America’s richest person, Tesla CEO and Twitter owner Elon Musk, that Beijing continues to welcome foreign businesses even as its relations with the US deteriorate.

China will “unswervingly promote high-level opening up” and foster a “market-oriented, law-based and internationalized business environment,” the Chinese Foreign Ministry quoted Qin as telling Musk during a meeting on Tuesday in Beijing. “China’s development is an opportunity for the world.”

Tesla is among the leading overseas manufacturers operating in China, relying on the country as its largest production hub and the second-biggest market for its electric vehicles. Musk, who has a net worth estimated by Forbes at nearly $200 billion, was expected to meet with other Chinese officials and visit Tesla’s plant in Shanghai after wrapping up his talks with Qin. He followed in a long line of US business leaders – such as Apple CEO Tim Cook and Pfizer’s Albert Bourla – who have returned to China for visits after being shut out for nearly three years during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Those trips have come amid rising geopolitical tensions in Beijing, which cut off military and climate ties with Washington last August on concern over alleged US meddling in Taiwan. China reportedly declined a request by US officials for the American and Chinese defense ministers to meet when both men are at a security conference next month in Singapore. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said on Tuesday that the US side “should earnestly respect China’s sovereignty, security and interest concerns [and] immediately correct its wrong practices.”

The ministry said that during his meeting with Musk, Qin used a driving metaphor to illustrate what must be done to mend US-Chinese relations: “We need to keep the steering wheel in the right direction of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation.” He added that the countries must skillfully use their brakes and accelerators to “avoid dangerous driving” and promote mutually beneficial cooperation.

Musk replied that Tesla opposes “decoupling” of the US and Chinese economies, which he described as “conjoined twins,” according to the ministry. Tesla is willing to expand its operations in China, capitalizing on the country’s development opportunities, and has a high regard for the diligence and intelligence of the Chinese people, he said.

Qin, then Chinese ambassador to Washington, thanked Musk last October for promoting peace in the Taiwan Strait. He praised the billionaire’s idea of reunifying China by making Taiwan a special administrative region with some degree of autonomy.

US Spent $13 Billion Sponsoring Unaccompanied Minor Children At The Border Since 2012

The chaos on America’s southern border has had unintended consequence – a human catastrophe hurting tens of thousands of unaccompanied, defenseless children.

Despite generous taxpayer funding, the federal infrastructure to provide for these children and ensure their safety is woefully incompetent.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), a part of the Administration for Children and Families, provides social services for unaccompanied children crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.

Earlier this year the office came under fire for reports children were being placed with abusive “sponsors” and made to work full time in grueling conditions, violating child labor laws. An Inspector General report released in 2023 additionally criticized the agency for not conducting background checks on employees and contractors charged with caring for children.

Our auditors at OpenTheBooks.com found that the agency spent $2.7 billion to “sponsor” unaccompanied minors – a staggering $18,000 per child. Roughly 150,000 unaccompanied minors were encountered at the southern border in fiscal year 2022.

However, today, reports indicate that up to 85,000 “sponsored” children are missing – their locations and whereabouts are not known.

Background

Unaccompanied children are defined as those under 18 who have no lawful immigration status in the U.S. and who do not have a parent or legal guardian that can provide custody.

According to the agency’s Unaccompanied Children (UC) Program website, the office oversees making placement decisions for these minors, releasing them to “qualified sponsors and family members,” and providing the children with legal representation and advice, among many other responsibilities.

Big Spikes in Federal Funding

OpenTheBooks auditors found that between 2012-2022, the program has doled out $12.8 billion in grants, with a substantial increase in 2018 and again in 2022.

Grant spending in this area has increased by about a billion dollars in 2022 over 2021. This year the budget is $2.7 billion, up from $950 million in 2017.

Most spending on unaccompanied minors takes place in Texas ($7.8 billion) followed by New York ($1.4 billion) and Florida ($660 million).

The biggest grant recipients have collected over $3 billion from FY2012-2022:

Southwest Key Programs ($3.7 billion)

Baptist Child & Family Services (BCFS) Health and Human Services ($3.1 billion)

Three other organizations have split another $1.3 billion in funding:

Comprehensive Health Services ($484 million)

CIA Officers Admit the Agency Ran Drug Trafficking Operations

In new memoir, CIA expert shares interviews he conducted with CIA paramilitary officers who spilled the beans about CIA drug trafficking along with other major crimes.

In 1991, during the 1st Persian Gulf War, investigative journalist Douglas Valentine traveled to Thailand and interviewed a group of legendary CIA officers who had helped run the secret war in Laos and other clandestine operations in the Indochina Wars.

Among them was Anthony Poshepny (aka Tony Poe), the prototype for Colonel Kurtz in Francis Ford Coppola’s epic 1979 film Apocalypse Now—a covert warrior who went off the deep end and established a secret jungle enclave where enemy body parts were displayed.[1]

Now 66, Poshepny lived at the time in a big, beautiful home in a fancy neighborhood in Udon Thani, Thailand, home of a major U.S. air base during the Indochina Wars used for carrying out secret bombing missions over Laos.

Poshepny owned a lumber and security consultant business and a sugar and tapioca farm; he was considered around town to be a friendly guy but a belligerent drunk.

Poshepny’s father had been a naval officer and he had become desensitized to violence serving with the Marines in the Battle of Iwo Jima during World War II.

During a meeting with Poshepny, who suffered from diabetes and cirrhosis from years of heavy drinking, Valentine noticed that he was missing two middle fingers. Poshepny also liked to tell obscene jokes.

He told Valentine that he was proud of things he had done with political implications, notably his involvement in a failed CIA coup against Indonesian socialist leader Sukarno in 1958, where he and CIA officer “Pat” Landry supplied mutinous military forces in oil-rich Sumatra with M16s and thousands of rounds of ammunition. “It was an adventure,” Poshepny said.

Poshepny, around the same time, told Valentine that he had created a guerrilla army in Thailand to try to destabilize Cambodia, which was then ruled by neutralist Prince Norodom Sihanouk, who was seen as too friendly to the North Vietnamese communists.

After Cambodia, Poshepny went on to Tibet, where he was awarded a coveted intelligence medal for his role in a CIA operation to support the Dalai Lama and recruit his supporters into a guerrilla army that waged war against the People’s Republic of China (PRC).

During the Korean War (1950-1953), Poshepny worked under station chief John Hart[2] in South Korea, training guerrillas and running operations up the eastern coast to the Soviet border near Vladivostok.

Admitted Child Predator Cop Has Conviction Thrown Out Only to Be Busted AGAIN, Hit with 50 Charges

In a damning revelation that unearths the shocking depths of institutional corruption and an absolute travesty of justice, a former police officer, Alexander Salterio, with a history of heinous crimes against children, finds himself embroiled in fresh legal trouble. Salterio previously admitted to a slew of horrific crimes, pleaded guilty, and was mandated to register as a sex offender in 2019. After receiving an insidious amount of blue privilege — despite his disgusting admissions — he is now facing a fresh wave of 50 new counts, this time for posing as a child online to solicit children and for raping his 10-year-old foster child.

In 2019, Salterio, then aged 33, stood before the Douglas County Circuit Court and confessed to a series of monstrous acts. His charges ranged from deploying a child in the display of explicit sexual content, inciting child sex abuse, sexual abuse, and aggravated identity theft. His nefarious scheme involved adopting the guise of a teenage boy on Facebook to solicit explicit photographs from underage girls, in addition to the sexual abuse of a 10-year-old girl.

His reprehensible acts only came to light after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children tipped off the Oregon Justice Department regarding child pornography circulating on Facebook. Once the investigation was initiated, the net of guilt quickly closed around Salterio. He was arrested on February 8, 2019, and subsequently resigned from his position as a Myrtle Creek police officer the next day, a position he had held since August 2017.

This story raises severe questions about the vetting procedures for individuals who are trusted with the responsibility of caring for vulnerable children. A lawsuit of $2.5 million was filed on behalf of the 10-year-old victim, accusing the Department of Human Services and the City of Myrtle Creek of negligence and violation of the child’s constitutional rights. The suit alleged that as a police officer, Salterio was not properly vetted for his eligibility as a foster parent. Worse, even when the child-welfare agency discovered Salterio was under criminal investigation, they shockingly continued to let the child remain in his care until his arrest.

Fast forward to the present day, May 24, 2023, and we find Salterio in the headlines once again. Salterio was given special privilege, and his prior convictions were disturbingly thrown out last month. This serial child predator now faces an even more serious indictment. He is accused once more of impersonating a teenage boy on Facebook, compelling underage girls to send him sexually explicit content, and sexually abusing his 10-year-old foster child.
