State-sponsored Chinese hackers have infiltrated critical US infrastructure networks, the United States, its Western allies and Microsoft said Wednesday while warning that similar espionage attacks could be occurring globally.

Microsoft highlighted Guam, a US territory in the Pacific Ocean with a vital military outpost, as one of the targets, but said “malicious” activity had also been detected elsewhere in the United States.

The stealthy attack — carried out by a China-sponsored actor dubbed “Volt Typhoon” since mid-2021 — enabled long-term espionage and was likely aimed at hampering the United States if there was conflict in the region, it said.

“Microsoft assesses with moderate confidence that this Volt Typhoon campaign is pursuing development of capabilities that could disrupt critical communications infrastructure between the United States and Asia region during future crises,” the statement said.

“In this campaign, the affected organizations span the communications, manufacturing, utility, transportation, construction, maritime, government, information technology, and education sectors.”

Microsoft’s statement coincided with an advisory released by US, Australian, Canadian, New Zealand and UK authorities warning that the hacking was likely occurring globally.

“This activity affects networks across US critical infrastructure sectors, and the authoring agencies believe the actor could apply the same techniques against these and other sectors worldwide,” they said.

China denied the allegations, describing the Microsoft report as “extremely unprofessional” and “scissors-and-paste work”.

“It is clear that this is a collective disinformation campaign of the Five Eyes coalition countries, initiated by the US for its geopolitical purposes,” foreign ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said, referring to the security alliance of the United States and its Western allies that wrote the report.

“The participation of certain companies shows that aside from government organisations, the US is expanding new channels for disseminating disinformation,” she said.

“But no change in tactics can alter the fact that the US is a hacker empire.”

– ‘Living off the land’ –

The United States and its allies said the activities involved “living off the land” tactics, which take advantage of built-in network tools to blend in with normal Windows systems.

It warned that the hacking could then incorporate legitimate system administration commands that appear “benign”.

Microsoft said the Volt Typhoon attack tried to blend into normal network activity by routing traffic through compromised small office and home office network equipment, including routers, firewalls and VPN hardware.

“They have also been observed using custom versions of open-source tools,” Microsoft said.

Microsoft and the security agencies released guidelines for organisations to try to detect and counter the hacking.

“It’s what I would term a low and slow cyber activity,” said Alastair MacGibbon, chief strategy officer at Australia’s CyberCX and a former head of the Australian Cyber Security Centre.

“This is someone wearing a camouflage vest and carrying a sniper rifle. You don’t see them, they’re not there,” he told AFP.

“When you think about something that can really cause catastrophic harm, it is someone with intent who takes time to get into systems.”

Once inside, the cyber attackers can steal information, he said. “But it also gives you the ability to carry out destructive acts at a later stage.”

– ‘Highly sophisticated’ –

A number of other governments had found similar activity since the Volt Typhoon alert was issued, said Robert Potter, co-founder of Australian cybersecurity firm Internet 2.0.

“I am not sure how communications infrastructure would be at risk from these attacks because those networks are highly resilient and difficult to bring down for more than small intervals,” Potter told AFP.

“However, the ongoing threat from China-based APT (advanced persistent threat) groups is real.”

The director of the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, Jen Easterly, said China had been stealing intellectual property and data worldwide for years.

“Today’s advisory, put out in conjunction with our US and international partners, reflects how China is using highly sophisticated means to target our nation’s critical infrastructure,” Easterly said.

Independent journalist Glenn Greenwald claims that mainstream media journalists are forced to disseminate CIA propaganda in order to remain employed and successful.

During his “System Update” broadcast on Rumble, Greenwald pointed out how “Journalists who spread conspiracy theories that the CIA wants them to spread get promoted, and the journalists who question the conspiracy theories of the CIA get destroyed.”

“It’s not prohibited in American corporate journalism to spread false stories and conspiracy theories,” Greenwald declared, adding “In fact, that’s the only way you can thrive in journalism.”

“The people who have lied the most, and who spread the most conspiracy theories, are the ones who have been promoted and enriched most within corporate journalism.”

“The difference is, the way to advance in journalism is to tell lies and spread conspiracy theories on behalf of the CIA, and that advance the interests of the U.S. government. That is not only permitted. That is required to be promoted,” Greenwald continued.

“What you can’t do, the thing that [Seymour] Hersh did that got him expelled from journalism, is he spread what are called conspiracy theories that are against the narrative of the U.S. security state, that undermined U.S. foreign policy. That is the only thing that is prohibited. That’s what gets you kicked out of journalism.”

Summit.news reports: Greenwald was referring to Hersh’s reporting on the destruction of Russia’s Nord Stream pipeline, which the veteran journalist is adamant was a coordinated operation by U.S. intelligence.

Greenwald continued, “As long as the conspiracy theories you’re affirming and the false stories you’re publishing are aligned with what the CIA, Pentagon, and the entire rest of the corporate media says, you’re fine. In fact, you’re better than fine. You’re going to have all kinds of rewards lavished upon you.”

Greenwald then cited the example of editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, Jeffrey Goldberg, who “did more [than anyone] to spread the false conspiracy theories that led to the Iraq War,” and “also became ground zero for every Russiagate fraud.”

Greenwald further proclaimed that Goldberg “was rewarded… as a result of the lying he did on behalf of the U.S. security state.”

The journalist went on a further deep dive into the example of the 2001 anthrax attacks, which he posits is a prime example of how “people in the CIA, FBI, and DHS know they can lie to the media on purpose without any accountability because they do so while hiding behind the shield of anonymity.”

“Even if you know they lied, the media will protect these liars, people who are deceiving America on purpose through the use of their media platforms,” Greenwald further charged.

Smoking Gun: Hunter Biden’s “Pay for Play” Contract/Emails Revealed From Days Before the Infamous “Son of a Bitch Was Fired” Trip to Ukraine

Joe Biden infamously bragged about his “$1 billion loan guarantee” quid-pro-quo meeting that took place in December 2015 in Ukraine. Joe couldn’t help bragging about getting the prosecutor investigating Burisma, Viktor Shokin, fired years later in a Council on Foreign Relations panel. In his boastings, Biden also implicated then-President Obama in that exchange: “You have no authority…you’re not the President…” to which Biden smugly replied “Call him.”

But more shocking than this admission are emails that strongly suggest Hunter Biden’s involvement in this effort to “close down for [sic] any cases/pursuits against Nikolay [Zlochevsky] in Ukraine.” The following outlines a thorough investigation by Badlands Media co-founder Jon Herold:

Sally Painter, a former Clinton administration senior advisor from 1993-1995 and co-founder/COO of Blue Star Strategies, reached out to Hunter Biden in a February 2011 email asking if Hunter would consider a position on the board of the Truman National Security Project.

A month later, Painter emailed Hunter back and said “U were a big hit as expected…I think you will get the actual offer in the next three weeks.” Jake Sullivan, the current National Security Advisor, would later join the Truman National board in 2017. This email string and the subsequent offer lay the foundation of Painter’s relationship with Hunter predating this incredible discovery.

Fast forward to October 2015. “Joan Mayer” of Rosemont Seneca emailed Hunter and Eric Schwerin a schedule for the next week that included the line “*HOLD- Breakfast with Devon, Vadym & Sally Painter- TBD”. “Vadym” refers to Vadym Pozharskyi, the “fixer” for shady oligarchs, according to a New York Post article in October 2020. Vadym had previously asked Hunter “how you could use your influence to convey a message…to stop what we consider to be politically motivated actions” regarding Burisma’s leader and on going investigations.

About a week later on October 31, 2015, Hunter’s former partner, Devon Archer, would forward an email from Blue Star Strategies to Vadym, Hunter, and Schwerin. Sally Painter was Cc’d on the original email. The subject reads “Revised Burisma Proposal, Contract and Invoice.” While the contract itself is not available for download, the context of the follow-up emails strongly suggests a “pay for play” operation immediately before Joe Biden’s famous “Son-of-a-bitch was fired” trip to Ukraine.

Within days, Vadym replied back to Archer, Schwerin, and Hunter with the following:

Woman Who Identifies As 15-Year Old Boy, Charged With ‘Unlawful Harboring of Minors’

A 35-year-old woman from Washington who reportedly told police she identifies as a 15-year-old boy was charged with ‘unlawful harboring of minors’.

Amanda Dorrough was charged with ‘unlawful harboring of minors’ after the Vice President of Port Angeles High School contacted authorities that two students approached him and told him that Dorrough planned to run away with several teens.

The vice principal also reported to authorities that Dorrough hung out with eight students at a local gully.

The charges against Dorrough for ‘unlawful harboring of minors’ was later dropped and replaced with one count of distribution of a controlled substance.

Dorrough was taken into custody on May 4, the drug charges were brought the following day, and she made bail on May 14. She was adamant in identifying as a 15-year-old and had previously told an officer that she was also a boy. In the weeks that led up to her arrest, police received eleven calls alleging she had acted inappropriately towards minors.

One of the students who hung out with Dorrough told authorities that she had acted “kind of weird toward him” and was often “pedophile-ish.” He explained that she had told him she liked him, and when he didn’t reciprocate, she nearly killed herself.

Maricopa County Attorneys Seek More Bogus Sanctions Against Kari Lake – Do NOT Cite Claim of 274,000 Ballot Signatures Approved in LESS THAN 3 Seconds Each

Corrupt Maricopa County requested Sanctions and Attorneys’ Fees against Kari Lake and her attorneys on Wednesday, claiming they “repeatedly made demonstrably false statements” before and during their remanded trial.

Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Peter Thompson dismissed Kari Lake’s lawsuit against the stolen 2022 Midterm Election late Monday night, following a three-day trial exposing election misconduct and fraudulent mail-in ballot signature verification.

Sanctioning is the tactic we have seen from Maricopa County and other fraudulently elected officials to stop election-related challenges dead in their tracks and “send a message” to or intimidate attorneys. This is all in the interest of the government ruling as the supreme authority on elections and suppressing the rights of citizens to constitutionally redress grievances.

The Gateway Pundit reported that Kari Lake plans to appeal the bogus ruling. Lake said in a recent press conference she will “continue pushing our case to the United States Supreme Court.”

They do not want to see Lake file an appeal and potentially overrule the trial court in a higher court. They are simply attempting to intimidate Lake and discredit her attorneys again.

The Gateway Pundit reported that just before Kari Lake’s historic trial in December that corrupt Obama Judge John Tuchi in Arizona ruled in favor of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors and sanctioned Kari Lake and Mark Finchem for exercising their right to petition Maricopa County’s procedures before the election. Tuchi waited close to five months, from July until after the General Election was stolen, to do this.

Tuchi even admitted that this order was intended to “send a message” to those who file what he considers “baseless” lawsuits in the future.

Lake and Finchem were proven right in arguing that voting machines are “potentially unsecure, lack adequate audit capacity, fail to meet minimum statutory requirements, and deprive voters of the right to have their votes counted and reported in an accurate, auditable, legal, and transparent process.” when the machines failed at 60% of voting locations on election day. But this didn’t matter; it was about shutting them up and stopping Lake’s historic lawsuit. That’s why Tuchi waited nearly five months to rule on the sanctions.

More recently, The Arizona Supreme Court sanctioned Lake’s attorneys and ordered her to pay $2,000 to the Court. According to many legal experts, this is a joke of a sanction and should not be taken seriously. However, the County uses this against Lake by stating “ethical parties would have been suitably admonished” by this minuscule monetary sanction and claiming that they “engaged in a program of intentional and repeated fallacious misstatements of fact to mislead this Court.”

Judge Peter Thompson previously denied sanctions and legal fees following the first trial in Kari Lake’s lawsuit last December. Katie Hobbs and Maricopa County sought over $600,000 to bankrupt Kari Lake’s legal fund and discourage another election lawsuit from ever going to trial.

Biden Picks Air Force Chief Charles Q. Brown as Top US General

President Joe Biden has picked U.S. Air Force Chief General Charles Quinton Brown to become the top U.S. military officer, the White House said on Wednesday, elevating a former fighter pilot with experience in the Pacific at a time of rising tensions with China.

Brown will be the second black officer to become chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff after Colin Powell two decades ago.

Biden’s official schedule for Wednesday read: “In the afternoon, the president will announce his intent to nominate General Charles Q. Brown, Jr. to serve as the next chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.”

The move follows Biden’s appointment of Lloyd Austin as the first black U.S. Secretary of Defense—the top civilian position at the Pentagon.

According to a senior Biden administration official, Austin had recommended Brown for the position, as he believed Brown has a good understanding of “the strategic challenges the United States faces around the world.”

“He helped build and lead the air campaign against ISIS. He is deeply versed in the challenges posed by the PRC (Peoples Republic of China). And he has a strong understanding of our NATO allies’ perspectives and capabilities,” the official said.

Brown, a self-described introvert, will replace outgoing Trump appointee Army General Mark Milley, who has served since 2019 as the 20th chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
