US wants to ‘freeze’ Ukraine conflict – Politico
A split much like the one in Korea would cost less money and political capital to Washington, the outlet has explained
The administration of US President Joe Biden is reportedly considering ‘freezing’ the conflict in Ukraine for the foreseeable futureinstead of pushing for the country’s victory, according to sources cited by Politico on Thursday. (Bongino says Politico is outlet the admin uses for marching orders to the media)
Three serving and one former US official told the outlet that along-term low-intensity stand-off was currently being discussed in the White House. (So no solution, more death and destruction, they need talking points)
The former official compared the possible scenario to how the Korean War of the early 1950s ended in an armistice.There was no formal peace agreement, and both Pyongyang and Seoul claim sovereignty over the entire Korean Peninsula, with a demilitarized zone separating the two parts. (Zelensky won’t like that but its the only thing Russia wanted, but they will be unending enemies so the news never stops)
“A Korea-style stoppage is certainly something that’s been discussed by experts and analysts in and out of government,” the source said. “It’s plausible, because neither side would need to recognize any new borders and the only thing that would have to be agreed is to stop shooting along a set line.”
The benefits for the US would be that a frozen conflict wouldbe less costly for Western nations and draw less public attention, and consequently less pressure to assist Kiev, the outlet explained.
Ukraine would still be allied with Washington and continue switching its military to NATO standards, as it seeks to join the bloc someday.
The ‘Korean scenario’ for Ukraine drew media attention in January, after Aleksey Danilov, the secretary of the country’s national security council, claimed in an interview that Moscow had sent a top official to European capitals to promote it.
The Kremlin denied that and claimed Danilov may have mistaken a Ukrainian politician surnamed Kazak for his namesake in the Russian government, whom he identified as the messenger.
Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy chair of the Russian Security Council, argued that Danilov’s words were meant for “domestic consumption,” so that the Ukrainian government could measure the public reaction to it. The Russian official mused that “being split is the best-case scenario,” for Kiev, under the circumstances.
Moscow called NATO’s expansion in Europe and its creeping takeover of Ukraine without its formal accession as one of the key reasons for sending troops against its neighbor. The conflict, Russia has maintained, is part of a US proxy war against it, in which Ukrainians serve as cannon fodder.

Kiev says it’s helped by Russian anti-government figures
Ukraine’s top military spy Kirill Budanov says such individuals are being used as informants
The head of Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) Kirill Budanov claims that Kiev has been “working” with figures within Russia’s opposition movements,who have been providing his agency with information.
In an interview with Ukrainian blogger Sergey Ivanov on Tuesday, the official did not disclose who exactly Kiev had been contacting within the various belligerent groups, but stated that it was “absolutely obvious” that Ukraine is cooperating with Russian anti-government figures.
“They are serving as a source of information for us and as hope for some kind of future,” said Budanov, pointing out that whenever the Russia-Ukraine conflict ends, the two countries would still share a common border and that there would still have to be some sort of relations.
In another interview with philosopher Valery Savchuk published on the same day, the spy chief also admitted that the GUR had “already got a lot” of Russian public figures but refused to confirm or deny the agency’s involvement in any specific assassinations, such as last year’s killing of journalist Darya Dugina or the recent car-bombing of author and political activist Zakhar Prilepin.
In an interview with Yahoo News on May 8, Budanov also stated that Ukraine’s forces “have been killing Russians” and “will keep killing Russians anywhere on the face of this world until the complete victory of Ukraine.”
In response, Moscow has condemned Budanov’s “monstrous” statements. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov described them as a “direct confirmation that the Kiev regime is not just sponsoring terrorist activity, but is its organizer.”
As for anti-government groups in Russia, the country’s former president Dmitry Medvedev, who is now the deputy chair of the Russian Security Council, accused the nation’s non-systemic opposition last month of not only openly wishing for the defeat and destruction of Russia, but also of playing a part in the “execution” of their fellow countrymen.
“Terrorism is again on our streets, in our cities,” wrote Medvedev in a lengthy Telegram post shortly after the murder of military blogger Vladlen Tatarsky. “But now, those engaged in terrorism are the same forces which were recently hailed by our Western friends as the ‘honor and conscience of an era’ and as opponents of the ‘authoritarian regime’,” he said.
“The masks are off. This is the true ‘color’ of the non-systemic opposition – it fights against its own people, it blows up and murders,”Medvedev proclaimed, adding that these people have “sworn allegiance to darkness and terror, along with the murderers of their native Kiev Nazi Regime.”

FBI WHISTLEBLOWER SLAMS ‘ORWELLIAN ATMOSPHERE’ AT THE BUREAU
FBI whistleblower Special Agent Garret O’Boyle offered testimony on Thursday to the House Judiciary Committee, sharing his experience with the dark side of the bureau after making protected disclosures to Congress.
During his testimony on Thursday, O’Boyle noted that the FBI was squashing whistleblower testimony “by design,” describing the bureau as “an Orwellian atmosphere that silences opposition and discussion.”
O’Boyle also said that “too many in the FBI aren’t willing to sacrifice for the hard right over the easy wrong.”

According to the committee’s report on the FBI whistleblower’s testimony, O’Boyle described the “weaponization of the security clearance process.”
Via the report:
“He described how the FBI suspended him right in the middle of his transfer and two weeks before his wife gave birth to their fourth child, causing their personal belongings—clothes, toys, furniture—to be stuck in an FBI-controlled storage unit for an extended period of time.”
Before the committee, Special Agent O’Boyle added, “I swore to defend this country from enemies both foreign and domestic, even if that means sacrificing my life. I’ve lived that oath out since enlisting in the Army, consistently saying, here am I, send me. My oath, however, did not include sacrificing the hopes, dreams, and livelihood of my family.”
His testimony was one of three that was presented on Thursday. RSBN reported that Special Agent Stephen Friend and Staff Operations Specialist Marcus Allen also testified before the committee.
Friend sounded the alarm on the FBI’s departure from case management rules and the FBI’s use of SWAT teams against American citizens who had been accused of non-violent crimes. Friend stated that he had been concerned that these departures could have “undermined potentially righteous prosecutions.”
Following his decision to voice his concerns over these matters, the FBI suspended Friend without pay.

The Unspoken Warning In The Durham Report: American Self-Government Is Collapsing

Yesterday in these pages Margot Cleveland rightly noted that the most damning finding in the 306-page report from Special Counsel John Durham is not necessarily the FBI’s scandalous Crossfire Hurricane investigation of the Trump campaign in 2016, but that the egregious abuses of power detailed in the report cannot be remedied “absent a curing of the corrupted hearts and minds of law enforcement and intelligence agencies.”
For all the FBI’s blatant partisanship, its disregard of exculpatory evidence, and its outright deception to secure FISA warrants on Trump campaign associates, writes Cleveland, “what should terrify the country is not the catalog of malfeasance the special counsel recited — for mistakes and even gross failures can be corrected — but that Durham warned of corrupted hearts and minds, unfaithful to the people and their Constitution.”
For his part, Durham didn’t recommend any changes to FBI guidelines or policies, because no amount of reform will be sufficient if the people in charge feel free to disregard guidelines and policies whenever they see fit to do so. As such, wrote Durham, “the answer is not the creation of new rules but a renewed fidelity to the old. The promulgation of additional rules and regulations to be learned in yet more training sessions would likely prove to be a fruitless exercise if the FBI’s guiding principles of ‘Fidelity, Bravery, and Integrity’ are not engrained in the hearts and minds of those sworn to meet the FBI’s mission of ‘Protect[ing] the American People and uphold[ing] the Constitution of the United States.’”
Durham is right, as is Cleveland. The abuse of power laid out in the report is terrifying, not just because what the FBI undertook in 2016 amounted to an attempted coup, but because it’s unclear how to prevent it from happening again. Indeed, we saw the same kind of abuse of power at play in 2020 when active and former CIA officials saw fit to interfere in the election by soliciting signatures for a letter designed to quash the Hunter Biden laptop story. There is every reason to believe that these kinds of abuses will happen again in 2024, and in every future presidential election.
As I wrote earlier this week, such abuse in our law enforcement and intelligence agencies represents a mortal threat to the republic, and we should understand the Durham report in that light.
But Durham’s damning indictment of the DOJ and FBI goes beyond those particular agencies, and indeed beyond the federal government. That people like former CIA Director John Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey, along with the entire cast of villains and liars in the Durham report, rose to positions of such power, and then proceeded to abuse that power by arrogating to themselves the right to decide who should be president — a right that belongs solely to the American people — says something about the state of our republic.
What it says is this: We have produced, and are still producing, a totally corrupt elite bereft of any sense of “Fidelity, Bravery, and Integrity,” to say nothing of moral virtue or the common good.

Put bluntly, an elite like that makes self-government in a republic of free citizens impossible. It also means that the elite will work to corrupt ordinary Americans, eroding their respect for the rule of law and fidelity to the Constitution. As the elites go, so eventually the entire country goes.
Seen in this light, the Durham report should be understood as a dire warning about the fate of our country. John Adams issued a similar warning when he penned his famous line, that “Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” George Washington did the same in his farewell address when he said, “’Tis substantially true that virtue or morality is a necessary spring of popular government.”
The founders knew what we seem to have forgotten: Without a virtuous people, without citizens and leaders who believe in objective moral truth and understand themselves to be bound by it, we cannot be a free people, and we cannot sustain a republic. Laws alone, to say nothing of guidelines and policies, are not enough to support and sustain self-government. You need citizens who will respect and uphold the law, and leaders who actually believe in the principle of self-government — something our current crop of leaders clearly rejects.
Without a morally virtuous citizenry, the founders also knew we would eventually become a society not of free men and women, but of slaves to a tyrannical regime. That’s the real warning embedded in the Durham report. The corruption of the FBI, the CIA, and the entire federal intelligence community, which led to the Russia-collusion hoax and almost took down Trump’s campaign, and then his presidency, cannot be fixed with new rules and policies. It’s a moral failing, moral corruption, and it can only be fixed by a spiritual renewal in America, by a return to — let’s be honest — a civic culture shaped and guided by Christian moral virtue.
It’s easy to look at the Durham report and conclude that the problem is just with a handful of bad apples in the federal intelligence agencies. But the rot goes much deeper than that. People like Comey and Brennan and the legions of corrupt agents and bureaucrats under them were produced by an American society that has lost its way, that has become unmoored from the morality that sustains our system of government and inculcates virtue in our citizenry.
New rules and regulations won’t be enough. Nor will it be enough to defund or disband the FBI. Unless we rediscover the moral virtue necessary for self-government, we will descend, bit by bit, into tyranny. And one day we will look back at the Durham report and understand that it wasn’t just an indictment of the FBI but an indictment of us all — and a harbinger of the end of our republic.

Home prices have had the biggest drop since 2012 while home sales fell in April 2023 for the second month in a row, according to a report from the National Association of Realtors.
The report shows that existing homes in April, which include townhouses and single family homes, dropped 3.4% from March.
Year-over-year sales dropped 23.2%, down from 5.57 million in April 2022, the report adds.
"Home sales are bouncing back and forth but remain above recent cyclical lows," said NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun. "The combination of job gains, limited inventory and fluctuating mortgage rates over the last several months have created an environment of push-pull housing demand."
The four major regions of the U.S. have shown to have monthly and annual drops in sales. However, drops continue to be larger in areas with the highest costs, which have witnessed the biggest run-up in prices over the years.
CNN reports that prices and competition for homes are mixed across the country.
"Roughly half of the country is experiencing price gains," Yun said. "Even in markets with lower prices, primarily the expensive West region, multiple-offer situations have returned in the spring buying season following the calmer winter market. Distressed and forced property sales are virtually nonexistent."

Supreme Court avoids ruling on law shielding internet companies from being sued for what users post
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court on Thursday sided with Google, Twitter and Facebook in lawsuits seeking to hold them liable for terrorist attacks. But the justices sidestepped the big issue hovering over the cases, the federal law that shields social media companies from being sued over content posted by others.
The justices unanimously rejected a lawsuit alleging that the companies allowed their platforms to be used to aid and abet an attack at a Turkish nightclub that killed 39 people in 2017.
In the case of an American college student who was killed in an Islamic State terrorist attack in Paris in 2015, a unanimous court returned the case to a lower court, but said there appeared to be little, if anything, left of it.
The high court initially took up the Google case to decide whether the companies’ legal shield for the social media posts of others, contained in a 1996 law known as Section 230, is too broad.
Instead, though, the court said it was not necessary to reach that issue because there is little tying Google to responsibility for the Paris attack.
“We therefore decline to address the application of Section 230 to a complaint that appears to state little, if any, plausible claim for relief,” the court wrote in an unsigned opinion.
The outcome is, at least for now, a victory for the tech industry, which predicted havoc on the internet if Google lost. But the high court remains free to take up the issue in a later case.

Gamers make the best military drone operators – DPR instructor
Recruits who have video game experience tend to learn faster and fly UAVs better, the expert claimed.
Volunteers and mobilized soldiers who have experience playing computer games have proved the most adept at learning to operate complex drones, an instructor serving in Russia’s Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) has told journalists.
The instructor, whose call sign is ‘Cross’, said that gamers made especially good progress in mastering First Person View (FPV) drones, which provide the operator with a real-time video feed that can be used to control the device via a monitor or video helmet.
“Gamers ‘fly’ better, it’s a fact,” Cross was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti. He noted that while it took him about two weeks to understand the concepts of flying an FPV drone, gamers could get the hang of it in just one day.
“In two weeks they were already flying like ‘adults,” the instructor said. “When an untrained person immediately starts ‘flying’ very well, I always ask ‘have you flown somewhere before?’ They respond ‘no, i just played computer games using a joystick.’”
Cross told reporters he is convinced that if gamers were to be recruited through social advertising, they could be useful for military service and a lot more volunteers with this background could be attracted.

Gov. JB Pritzker sworn in for a 2nd term

Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker on Monday was sworn into office for a second term alongside Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton and four other state constitutional officers.
The ceremony, held at the Bank of Springfield, 1 Convention Center Plaza, featured musical performances by Tiffany Mathis, the Southern Illinois Children’s Reunion Choir and Uplifting Voices Chicago.
During his inaugural speech, Pritzker said his priorities for the upcoming term include expanding preschool and childcare access, making healthcare more affordable and making college tuition free for working class families.
Pritzker went on to speak about gun violence, saying that shortly after his 2019 inauguration he went to stand with the victims of the Henry Pratt Company shooting in Aurora. He then acknowledged the shooting at Benito Juarez High School in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood, which took place on Dec. 16.
“I'm tired of living in a world,” Pritzker said, “where a mass shooting needs a title so that you know which one you’re referring to. Hospitals, high schools, homes, parades, offices, there is no place, geographic or otherwise, that's been spared from the threat of gun violence.”
He said Illinois should become the ninth state to pass an assault rifle ban.
Attorney General Kwame Raoul also spoke about gun violence in his speech. Raoul talked about the Highland Park shooting on July 4. He also brought up two shootings which took place in the weeks following: one in Washington Park on Chicago’s South Side and one in Garfield Park on the city’s West Side.
Raoul said those shootings did not receive as much media attention as Highland Park. He said that’s because gun violence is expected in those areas. But, he said, it shouldn’t be.
“I’ll say about gun violence what I said about the opioid and heroin crisis, we weren't troubled when we thought they were quarantined to poor inner-city neighborhoods,” Raoul said. “We actually tolerated the impact of the opioid addiction until it spread to more affluent areas. That should not be our normal and we should be ashamed.”
Pritzker and Raoul both touted access to reproductive rights in the state.
“Illinois spoke loudly and decisively in 2022,” Pritzker said, “and declared that in the Land of Lincoln, we trust women.”

The DOJ admitted to 40 government CHS agents were undercover on January 6th.
Proud Boys defendant Dominic Pezzola recently reported this admission.

“That Is Not My Account, Maam” – EMBARRASSING. Idiot Democrat Makes Fool of Herself by Accusing Whistleblower of Running Twitter Account – But It’s Not His!
The House Weaponization Committee is holding a hearing today on Capitol Hill. Three government whistleblowers from the FBI are testifying before Congress on Thursday morning.
On Wednesday Chris Wray’s FBI revoked the security clearances of three agents who espoused questioned the aggressive tactics by the FBI in targeting Trump supporters , conservatives, and pro-Life Americans, according to a letter the FBI sent the subcommittee on Wednesday.
FBI agents Marcus Allen, Brett Gloss, and Steve Friend had already been suspended for questioning the agency’s handling of the January 6 case and stating their beliefs that the FBI has been weaponized against conservatives.
Democrats on the Committee are running interference for the FBI. The Democrat members are openly hostile to the witnesses and attacking them continuously.
At one point in the hearing Rep. Linda Sanchez accused whistleblower Marcus Allen of tweeting out an angry rant against Nancy Pelosi.
Mr. Allen told her, “That is not my account, Maam.”
Sanchez went ahead and read the tweet anyway.
What an dope. Nice work preparing for the hearing, Maam.
