Amazon’s planned retrenchment during the critical holiday shopping season — when the company typically has valued stability — shows how quickly the souring global economy has put pressure on it to trim businesses that have been overstaffed or underdelivering for years.Amazon would also become the latest technology company to lay off workers, which only recently it had been fighting to retain. Poland Takes Control of Gazprom’s Local Gas Pipeline Assets

Poland introduced compulsory administration over Gazprom PJSC’s stake in the company that owns the local part of the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline, tightening the government’s grip over Russian assets in the country.

The Development Ministry is taking over the Russian exporter’s share in EuRoPol Gaz SA, it said on the website. Gazprom held 48% of the firm, with Polish state companies owning the remainder. The “temporary” measure was necessary to facilitate decision-making at the company, according to the ministry.

“In the current stalemate in EuRoPol Gaz, the Polish operator of the pipeline didn’t have a partner to make key decisions for the security of the infrastructure,” the ministry said.

One of three major gas routes from Russia to Europe, the Yamal pipeline used to deliver the fuel through Belarus and Poland into Germany. But flows had been intermittent since late last year, and in May Russia prohibited Gazprom from any cooperation with EuRoPol Gaz, shortly after Gazprom stopped flows to Poland altogether when Warsaw refused to pay for the fuel in rubles.

The link has been delivering gas in so-called reverse mode most of the time since then, shipping volumes eastward from Germany to Poland.

Earlier this year, Poland imposed sanctions on and froze assets of dozens of Russian companies and individuals, including Gazprom, following Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine. Russia, in turn, has sanctioned companies with an interest in assets such as Yamal, including EuRoPol Gaz.

The world’s largest online retailer, Amazon, will begin laying off 10,000 employees in corporate and technology roles beginning this week, according to a report from The New York Times.

The issue likely stems from a currency conversion since Epic Games doesn't have full regional pricing support. In 30 regions and 150 different countries outside of the United States, Epic Games does adjust prices based on local currencies, which makes games in some areas cheaper. However, some are speculating that Epic Games still refunds people in USD. When the USD refund price is converted into the user's local currency, depending on the currency exchange rate, the price may be lower than what someone originally paid.

Located only 8,000 light years away, the Wizard nebula, featured here, surrounds developing open star cluster NGC 7380. Visually, the interplay of stars, gas, and dust has created a shape that appears to some like a fictional medieval sorcerer. The active star forming region spans 100 about light years, making it appear larger than the angular extent of the Moon. The Wizard Nebula can be located with a small telescope toward the constellation of the King of Aethiopia (Cepheus). Amazon plans to lay off about 10,000 employees in what would be the largest reduction in the company's history, according to reports. The New York Times reported the mass layoffs could begin as soon as this week and will focus on Amazon's devices organization, retail division and human resources, citing people with knowledge of the move who were not authorized to speak publicly. Amazon did not immediately confirm the layoffs to USA TODAY. The reported layoffs would affect about 3% of Amazon's corporate employees and less than 1% of its global workforce. The company has more than 1.5 million workers worldwide.

Despite Only 17% Democrat Turnout on Election Day – Katie Hobbs and Democrats Are Winning Over 50% of Maricopa County Election Day Totals

On Election night at 8 PM Uplift Data released its final hourly results on the Arizona and Maricopa County elections.

Throughout the election cycle, Uplift posted the latest updates on mail-in ballot counts on its website as ballots arrived in the weeks leading up to Election Day. This was a great tool for Democrats to understand the real-time results. On Election Day Uplift tracked the hourly reported results from precincts across Maricopa County.

When the polls closed at 8:00 PM MT Uplift released its final analysis from the day.

Maricopa County turnout numbers on Election Day at 8:00 PM:

Republicans received 52.7% of the vote.

“Other” received 30.7% of the vote.

Democrats received 16.6% of the vote.

The “other” category is likely independents leaning Republican and Republican voters who refuse to talk to liberal pollsters.

So, again, according to Uplift Data tracking service Republicans had 52.7% of the vote on Election Day.

Democrats had 16.6% of the vote on Election Day.

USA Today reported on Wednesday, Nov. 9 that Kari Lake won 70% of the Election Day vote.

Since Tuesday night Maricopa County has slow-walked their actual results to the press.

Katie Hobbs has won every ballot drop, except two, from Maricopa County since Tuesday extending her lead over Kari Lake by 34,000 votes.

Katie Hobbs won more Election Day votes in the Thursday and Friday ballot drops.

Kari Lake won 51.8% of the 85,000 Maricopa ballots on Saturday night.

On Sunday, Kari Lake won 54% of the 97,000 Maricopa ballots on Sunday night.

Maricopa County election officials want you to believe that ALL of the independent voters on election day voted Democrat in Maricopa County.

BUT THAT IS NOT ALL—

80.0% of In-Person Voters in Maricopa County on Election Day Voted Republican – Only 23.4% Voted Democrat

Maricopa County had 106,588k voters show up Tuesday to vote in-person. Of those, a record breaking percentage voted for the GOP. In Arizona, anyone registered as an “Independent” can show up to the polls and request either a Republican, or Democrat ballot. In Tuesday’s Primary, 80.0% who voted in-person selected a Republican Party ballot. Only 20% used the Democrat ballot. The charts below provide various details.

As of April 2022, the makeup of active registered voters in Maricopa County is 34% Republican, 30% Democrat, and 34% Independents. Out of the 31,318 registered “Independents” that showed up, 73.95% asked for a Republican ballot. Only 23.4% asked for a Democrat ballot. That’s considered a BLOWOUT! In the right side graph below, the pink at the top are those “Independent” voters who asked poll workers for a Republican ballot. The dark red are registered Republicans.
