HONG KONG/BEIJING/LONDON, Oct 18 (Reuters) - Britain summoned China's Charge d'Affaires on Tuesday to explain an incident in which a Hong Kong pro-democracy protester was seen being pulled into the grounds of the Chinese consulate in Manchester, England and beaten.

British police are investigating the incident, which occurred during a demonstration against Chinese President Xi Jinping. Officers entered the consulate grounds to rescue a man who they said "was dragged" inside and assaulted by several men.

Commenting on the incident during a news conference in Beijing, Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said: "Disturbing elements illegally entered the Chinese Consulate General in Manchester and endangered the security of Chinese diplomatic premises."

"Diplomatic institutions of any country have the right to take the necessary measures to safeguard the peace and dignity of their premises," he added.

Britain's foreign office said it was extremely concerned about what it called "apparent scenes of violence".

"The Foreign Secretary has issued a summons to the Chinese Charge d'Affaires at the Chinese Embassy in London to express His Majesty's government deep concern at the incident and to demand an explanation for the actions of the consulate staff," British foreign office minister Jesse Norman told parliament.

The meeting would take place later on Tuesday, Norman said.

"All those on our soil have the right to express their views peacefully, without fear of violence," Norman said.

The protest, involving 30-40 people including Hongkongers now resident in Britain, took place at the start of a twice-a-decade congress of China's ruling Communist Party in Beijing at which Xi is widely expected to win a third leadership term.

Footage posted by the BBC showed a man in a black cap and ponytail being hauled through a gate into the consular grounds, where he was kicked and punched by five men as he lay on the ground.

British lawmaker Alicia Kearns said China's Manchester consul general, Zheng Xiyuan, "had full sight, and was quite possibly involved, in the assaults." The Chinese spokesman, Wang, declined to confirm or deny whether Zheng Xiyuan was involved in the incident.

The victim spent the night in hospital for treatment and an investigation is ongoing, the British police added in a statement.

The man, whose first name is Bob, is in his 30s and emigrated to Britain from Hong Kong recently, according to a friend close to him.

Interviewed by British broadcaster Sky News, Bob said he feared for his life, and showed cuts to his face and bruises on his body after the assault.

"They are like gangsters, you know, doing things like gangsters. It shouldn't be like that. It's not in China you know. This is the UK," Bob told the news channel.

The incident was triggered when several men came out of the consulate to take down protest banners, including one with the slogan: "Heaven will destroy the Chinese Communist Party", and a caricature of Xi wearing a crown.

At a press conference for Trump-endorsed candidate for Governor, Tim Michels, in Milwaukee, a man tried to steal a Fox producer’s Kia in broad daylight.

The break-in and attempted theft occurred last Thursday, right across the street from the press conference.

Michels went on camera at the scene of the crime and called out left-wing Democrats, Governor Tony Evers and Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes (challenger to Republican Senator Ron Johnson) for their horrendous failure to manage the crime spiking epidemic in Milwaukee.

While walking around the vehicle’s smashed window, Michaels said, “this is what happens when you have weak leadership–The bad guys are so emboldened, they’re like I don’t care if there’s cameras around people around… future governors around…I know I’m going to get away with it.”

Their failure is so bad, it almost seems like they are intentionally trying to make crime worse in Wisconsin.

As we previously reported, more than 800 violent felons from murderers to child rapists have been released from prison on early parole under the Evers/Barnes administration.

In 2019, Evers nominated Black Lives Matter supporting city councilman, John Tate, as chairman of the Parole Commission. Tate was an outspoken advocate for prison reforms and reduction in sentencing. Given the mile long list of hardened-violent criminals he released, it must be asked if Tate intentionally chose the most dangerous to live free once again among law abiding Wisconsinites.

Since 2019, during his first term as Governor of Wisconsin, at least 884 convicted prisoners have been released under Evers Parole Commission, including more than 300 convicted murderers, attempted murderers and child rapists.

The list of those paroled early, obtained by Freedom of Information requests and compiled by WRN is both staggering and shocking.

Actor Kevin Spacey broke down in sobs as has revealed his father was a white supremacist and neo-Nazi who would scream at him when he thought he was gay, a New York courtroom heard.

Spacey, 63, said whilst taking the stand in a civil court case in New York that as a child, his father, Thomas Fowler, would call him a 'f****t' while lecturing him for 'hours and hours' about his racist and homophobic beliefs.

An emotional Spacey, giving an unprecedented view into his private life as he wiped away tears, told the court that his father's rants led him to hate bigotry and intolerance.

The House of Cards actor said it was 'terrifying' to consider bringing his school friends home because he was 'terrified' about what his father, who died on Christmas Eve 1992 aged 68, would say.

Spacey, choking up, said that when he became interested in theatre, he endured the screams of Mr Fowler, a failed writer, who 'used to yell at me at the idea that I might be gay.'

Spacey said he did not come out as gay publicly for years because his upbringing made him believe you should 'never ever, ever talk about anything.'

He told the New York courtroom: 'I grew up in a very complicated family dynamic. My father was unemployed a great deal of the time so therefore he was home a lot of the time.

'My father fell in with some ideas and people that I believe damaged his mind and sensibility and my father was a white supremacist and neo-Nazi.

'It meant we were forced to listen to hours and hours and hours of lectures about his beliefs and ideas.'

Spacey said it was these lectures that were the basis of his 'hatred of bigotry and intolerance.'

He said: 'I was humiliated and terrified of even considering bringing my friends home to my house because I was afraid of what my friends would say.

'My best friend was Jewish. I couldn't bring him to my house. Everything that was happening at that house was something I felt I had to keep to myself, keep private and never ever talk about anything.'

Spacey told the jury about his early life being born in New Jersey then moving to California when he was three years old.

His mother, Kathleen Fowler, worked as a secretary and was the breadwinner but they moved nine or 10 times by the time Spacey was 11.

His acting interest was piqued by his mother who 'loved music and movies' and introduced Spacey to movie stars of the 1930s, 40s and 50s.

He discovered he had an 'ear for impressions' and said that making his mother laugh was 'one of the greatest sounds I have ever heard.'

After being sent to military school, Spacey began to take acting workshops, including one with the actor Jack Lemmon who said his performance was a 'touch of terrific' - Spacey briefly impersonated Lemmon as he recounted the anecdote.

Spacey's friend Val Kilmer also pushed him to take up acting, Spacey said.

The actor, who came out as gay in 2017, said he didn't do it sooner because of his childhood.

He said: 'I grew up in a situation as a child where I wasn't comfortable talking about these things. My father used to yell at me about the idea I might be gay because I was interested in the theatre.

'My father used to scream at me don't be a F-word that is very derogatory to the gay community. It was very disturbing for me because I was beginning to discover my own sexuality. I think I had a degree of shame but I think also I wanted people to remember the characters I was playin and not to know too much about me.

'That's my reasoning, I was protecting the work.'

FBI Agents Blow The Whistle On Christopher Wray’s Private Use Of Counterterrorism Jet

Current and former FBI agents have called out FBI Director Christopher Wray over his use of the FBI’s private jet.

The agents alleged that Wray’s use of the jet amounts to embezzlement.

The New York Post reported:

Former and current FBI agents are fuming about Director Christopher Wray’s use of the FBI’s private jet, which originally was intended by Congress only to be used for counterterrorism purposes.

A lot of other Americans would like to know why Wray cut short a Senate oversight hearing on Aug. 4 to fly in the FBI jet to his family holiday destination in the Adirondacks, after telling Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) that he had “business” to attend to.

Whatever was the purpose of all those flights to Wray’s hometown, they have set tongues wagging among current FBI agents. They have shared with former agents their suspicions that Wray is treating the FBI jet like his own private plane, and allege it amounts to “embezzlement” of government property, which is when someone “knowingly converts government property to one’s own use.”

“The FBI acquired the Gulfstream for the express purpose of moving its own Counterterrorism Rapid Deployment teams to anywhere in the world to deal with an act of terrorism,” says one concerned former agent.

Flight-tracking software has shown that the FBI jet has taken trips to Atlanta, Georgia twice per month on average since June.

Wray’s wife is from a family that lives in that region.

But perhaps we’re being too judgemental about this. For all we know, Christopher might have been tracking down conservative domestic terrorists who oppose the current administration’s immigration policies in the Adirondacks. The Atlanta area could be a hotbed of families who object to drag shows in their children’s kindergarten classes and had the nerve to show up to a school board meeting to complain. Those are the sort of people that the FBI clearly needs to get under control quickly, and there are few faster ways to manage the feat than using a Gulfstream G550.

All joking aside, this just seems so typical of this administration that it’s nauseating. Who cares if Congress only authorized the purchase, maintenance, and operation of that Gulfstream for official counterterrorism activities? It’s a private jet that’s just idling its time at a hangar and Chris Wray is the man in charge now. Why shouldn’t he order up some bubbly and shrimp cocktails so he can travel in style and avoid mingling with the unwashed masses at the airports?

Back in August, House Republican lawmakers demanded answers on his private jet use.

This is after he left a Senate hearing early on the jet. A report alleges he left it early for a personal vacation.
