Florida teacher, coach showed porn to child, molested them, detectives say

TAMPA – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office arrested a teacher and coach for showing pornographic images and inappropriately touching a student at Livingstone Academy.

Livingstone Academy reached out to HCSO after the grandmother of a juvenile student reported her grandchild had been inappropriately touched by a teacher at the school. Through investigative means, detectives identified the suspect, Matthew Hike, 33. Detectives found Hike had shared several images of pornographic nature with the juvenile, too.

Hike is charged with Lewd or Lascivious Molestation (x5), and Sell or Distribute Obscene Material to a Minor (x3).

“Those adults placed in positions of trust who prey on our children and victimize them have no place in our community,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “This suspect did not have the student in his class, but instead targeted the juvenile in the hallway, gaining the victim’s trust and friendship before committing this heinous crime.”

Not only was Hike a teacher at Livingstone Academy, a school for children with disabilities, he was also an assistant football coach at Bloomingdale High School.

Representative Madison Cawthorn, a North Carolina Republican, said in a recent interview that leaders that he "looked up to" in Washington, DC, have invited him to an "orgy" and did cocaine in front him.

Cawthorn, 26, is a freshman congressman and is currently the youngest member of Congress. He has drawn criticism and backlash from Democrats and Republicans alike for some of his controversial views during his tenure serving the people of North Carolina. The staunch supporter of former President Donald Trump made the remarks about the "orgy" and drug use during an interview-first broadcast on Thursday with Warrior Poet Society hosted by John Lovell.

In the interview, Lovell asked the congressman about the popular Netflix series House of Cards, which had six seasons from 2013 to 2018 and starred actors Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright. The fictitious show featured the story of a corrupt politician and his wife as they blackmailed and clawed their way to greater and greater power in the nation's Capitol. Lovell asked him if the show is an accurate representation of how DC operates.

"I heard a former president that we had in the '90s was asked a question about this. And he gave an answer that I thought was so true. He said that the only thing not accurate in that show—that you could never get a piece of legislation about education passed that quickly," Cawthorn responded.

The GOP congressman went on to share anecdotes about interactions he has had since coming to the Capitol.

"The sexual perversion that goes on in Washington, I mean, being kind of a young guy in Washington, average age is probably 60 or 70," Cawthorn said, "I look at a lot of these people, a lot of them that I've looked up to through my life—I've always paid attention to politics—then all of a sudden you get invited to, 'Oh hey we're going to have a sexual get together at one of our homes, you should come.'"

Cawthorn then put on a shocked expression, saying his response was, "'What did you just ask me to come to?' And then you realize they're asking you to come to an orgy." The Republican lawmaker also said that "some of the people who are leading on the movement to try and remove addiction in our county" have done "a key bump of cocaine" right in front of him.

The North Carolina representative did not provide names or clarify whether these interactions were with elected members of Congress or other officials and aides working in DC. Newsweek reached out to Cawthorn's press secretary for further details, but did not immediately receive a response.

Cawthorn's reference to a former president discussing House of Cards appears to be about a 2015 interview Spacey did with Gotham Magazine. The actor said at the time that he and former President Bill Clinton, a Democrat, are friends and played poker together. Spacey said that Clinton told him the show was largely accurate and that he enjoyed it.

"Kevin, 99 percent of what you do on that show is real. The 1 percent you get wrong is you could never get an education bill passed that fast," Clinton told Spacey, according to the actor's comments to the magazine.

Cawthorn recently drew significant backlash for remarks he made about Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky and the Ukrainian government. At a North Carolina event earlier this month, he called Zelensky a "thug" and his government "incredibly evil" shortly after Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a full-scale invasion of the country.

Representative Liz Cheney, a Wyoming Republican, dubbed Cawthorn a member of the "Putin wing of the GOP." Congressman Adam Kinzinger, an Illinois Republican, slammed him for "echoing Putin propaganda."

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, a California Republican, said publicly that Cawthorn was "wrong."

"Madison is wrong," he said on March 18. "If there's any thug in this world it's [Vladimir] Putin." He also told reporters that he has spoken to the GOP congressman about the controversial remarks.

After video of Cawthorn's Ukraine remarks circulated, he posted to Twitter and strongly criticized Putin and Russia's invasion. His press secretary Luke Ball also told Newsweek at the time that the congressman "supports Ukraine and the Ukrainian president's efforts to defend their country against Russian aggression, but does not want America drawn into another conflict through emotional manipulation."

Fox News Host Says He is Hearing That Hunter Biden Will Be Indicted

Fox News host Jesse Watters is claiming to have a source saying that Hunter Biden will be indicted.

Watters added that he will probably be pardoned and that Joe Biden will not seek re-election.

“[W]e all see that Emperor Joe Biden has no clothes,” Watters said during Friday night’s episode of Jesse Waters Primetime. “Joe Biden isn’t perfect. Joe Biden is not making anybody happy. He is not delivering for Republicans or Democrats or anybody. And, his polling numbers are terrible. And, Democrats are about to get wiped out. And America knows it. So does the media. But, the media has too much pride to admit they were wrong. So, the cover-up continues.”

Watters then dropped the claim about Hunter Biden, though he did not indicate who his source was.

“We told you this week, his approval rating slipped to 34%,” Watters continued. “He is losing blacks, whites, Latinos. ‘Primetime’ is hearing that Hunter will be indicted. Biden will probably pardon this on and announce he is not running for reelection. So, who else is there to carry the torch? Could it be Kamala?”

This month, the lawyer for an Arkansas woman who battled Hunter Biden for child support made a similar prediction, according to a report from the Western Journal.

“I expect him to be indicted,” attorney Clint Lancaster said. “Just based on what I saw in his financial records, I would be surprised if he’s not indicted.”

The report adds, “Last month, Roberts traveled to Delaware to testify to a federal grand jury. Lancaster said he had supplied ‘a significant amount of Hunter’s financial records’ to investigators in compliance with a subpoena. The records, he said, were from the child support case.”

Lancaster said he “saw a lot of information” that is “problematic” for Biden.

Virginia Thomas, a conservative activist married to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, repeatedly pressed White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows to pursue unrelenting efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election in a series of urgent text exchanges in the critical weeks after the vote, according to copies of the messages obtained by The Washington Post and CBS News.

The messages — 29 in all — reveal an extraordinary pipeline between Virginia Thomas, who goes by Ginni, and President Donald Trump’s top aide during a period when Trump and his allies were vowing to go to the Supreme Court in an effort to negate the election results.

On Nov. 10, after news organizations had projected Joe Biden the winner based on state vote totals, Thomas wrote to Meadows: “Help This Great President stand firm, Mark!!!…You are the leader, with him, who is standing for America’s constitutional governanceat the precipice.The majority knows Biden and the Left is attempting the greatest Heist of our History.”

When Meadows wrote to Thomas on Nov. 24, the White House chief of staffinvoked God to describe the effort to overturn the election. “This is a fight of good versus evil,” Meadows wrote. “Evil always looks like the victoruntil the King of Kings triumphs. Do not grow weary in well doing. The fight continues. I have staked my career on it. The messages,which do not directly reference Justice Thomas or the Supreme Court, show for the first time how Ginni Thomas used her access to Trump’s inner circle to promote and seek to guide the president’s strategy to overturn the election results — and how receptive and grateful Meadows said he was to receive her advice. Among Thomas’s stated goals in the messages was for lawyer Sidney Powell, who promoted incendiary and unsupported claims about the election, to be “the lead and the face” of Trump’s legal team.

The text messages were among 2,320 that Meadows provided to the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. The content of messages between Thomas and Meadows — 21 sent by her, eight by him – has not previously been reported. They were reviewed by The Post and CBS News and then confirmed by five people who have seen the committee’s documents.

Meadows’s attorney, George Terwilliger III, confirmed the existence of the 29 messages between his client and Thomas. In reviewing the substance of the messages Wednesday, he said that neither he nor Meadows would comment on individual texts. But, Terwilliger added,“nothing about the text messages presents any legal issues.”

A radio station in Missouri is airing a Russian radio program full of state propaganda.

Peter Schartel says he is exercising free speech as he airs the pro-Russian content amid the invasion of Ukraine.

The radio program, Radio Sputnik, is produced by a US division of the Russian-run media group Rossiya Segodnya.

"special military action" against Ukraine in the early hours on February 24.

Less than 24 hours later, photos show Ukrainians fleeing as the war escalates.

Photos show traffic jams, couples embracing, and a mother trying to distract her child.

Ukrainian citizens fled their homes after the first day of a full-scale invasion.

Train stations were packed with people on the move and roads filled with cars of people leaving the country, with their loved ones and prized possessions in tow.

Before the invasion took place, there were warnings of a mass refugee crisis.

"It is frightening to imagine what scale the refugee crisis could reach in the event of escalating hostilities in Ukraine. It will be a continent-wide humanitarian disaster," Agnès Callamard, Amnesty International's secretary-general, said in a statement before Putin invaded.

On Thursday, Callamard said that the Russian invasion has made the group's "worst fears" come true in a new statement.

"After weeks of escalation, a Russian invasion that is likely to lead to the most horrific consequences for human lives and human rights has begun," Callamard said.

A small Missouri radio station is airing a Russian radio program full of state propaganda amid the invasion of Ukraine.

Peter Schartel airs the Russian program Radio Sputnik every day at 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. from his station, KCXL Radio, in Liberty, Missouri.

"America is a very different country than it used to be. We used to be a country of freedom, job, opportunity, and equality. Now, we are a country that looks down upon traditional values. We are a country that puts its citizens second to citizens of other countries," the home page of the radio station reads.

Schartel started airing Radio Sputnik in early 2020, and since then, he has been accused by critics of being a traitor for promoting propaganda and disinformation, according to The Associated Press.
