2. ANONS: You can NOM banners by either replying NOM or giving reasons.
3. PROPOSERS HAVE ALL FRIDAY AND SATURDAY TO POST BANNERS. Anons can reply at any time. Deadline for submission is Saturday midnight EST. Deadline for comments is Sunday noon.
4. Depending on the results, we'll either announce the winner on Monday – will be in Globals – or do a runoff in case of neck-and-neck results.

I'm REALLY not a big fan of how this is being pushed so hard, it was floated as an idea first
but it's almost forced now since it seemed the majority of anons (particularly autists) are against it,
having stated it's kind of a sacred function between anon and the bakers (anon creating artwork for baker to use).
There was also a push for Baker ID, as if we need some kind of vax passport, and now you want to take away our banners?
Why is it such an issue? Is this really the place for 'uniformity' and 'standardization'? I don't think so at all, the place runs itself.
But since you are very passionate about this for some reason, 3-4 banners (1 for each shift) would be my compromise
Here are a few that I guess I'll miss being able to use since I'm sure they won't be "picked" in this safe and fair anonymous election…

I don't find this important enough to really take part in debating or arguing. I do see it as something that could easily become a source of division. I hope not. I care not what ends up happening with the banner. I just don't want needless division.

They changed up banners because bakers were under attack and bakers were showing their “insignias” for continuity of their bakes. It was decided the banner just had to have teh raising of the flag. Why does it need to be just one image? Imagine if all the flowers were same color, etc Seems so monotone and robotic. None of my business tho. I don’t bake. I just know how to read where it says “Welcome to QResearch General so and so edition.” I think bakers should be free to follow their Human 1.0 creative hearts and choose whatever Iwo Jima version they love.

Ends at midnight EST.
THE CONTEST IDEA WAS FIRST SET INTO MOTION 16 MONTHS AGO.
* On Nov 1 2020, Baker changed the General Image.
* Many anons objected but baker would not revert. Try "change it back" in qresear.ch.
* Baker's argument: "I am hoping meme fags will use the dough post image as a template to start with.May the best banner win."#14543, 11-01-2020
MAY THE BEST BANNER WIN.
UPDATE:
When first discussed, many anons seemed to support one banner idea.
Later, some objected - proposed a POOL to select from.
We can do either.
If anons want a POOL, have some suggestions based on
* iwo jima image (most anons use anyway – unifying theme newly commemorated)
* findability in the catalog (should look different from side threads)
* image size (it's SMALL- so simple is best)
SUGGESTIONS:
1. Use either no text or just Q Research – with any additions being short phrases like "For God & Country" or other unifying themes (WWG1WGA?). MAGA lion can be included, optional.
2. Use black and white, greyscale or subtle colors (this is to distinguish General Images from others)
3. Use 16:9 or similar ratio (not too squarish)
Recent bakes happened to use images like this, anon capped it. Looks pretty good, threads easy to find.

Have given opinion already that this is division fagging with small changes, but will add since this is still going. BO keeps going back to the arbitrary change of banner to justify the contest and all related noise around banners. Humbly suggest that the problem was the enforcement of a standard when there was none before. Yes it was shit that the banner was forced to be changed without enough discourse, but enforcing the reversal of that decision is itself another enforcement of a standard. The correct course of action here is not a more democratic enforcement of a standard, it is going back to not having a standard to enforce. This board is meant to be a hard unwelcoming tip of the spear. This talk of branding and representing the board to outsiders is nonsense. Time to re-read the welcome page, and if there are problems with it then start a democratic modification of the welcome page, instead of trying to fairly enforce rules that shouldn't exist at all.

This board has always had standards - from the start. 8bit had standards, he just didn't broadcast them. He set them forth and anons used em. Under 8bit, anons couldn't change General image. And they knew it.
The argument that "we have no standards" is simply not true. We've had all sorts of implicit standards, especially for baking. Just not CODIFIED.
Example - anon suggested bakers assist as a job for note-takers who couldn't or didn't want to bake. 8bit said no. End of discussion.
You re-read the Welcome page. Free speech doesn't mean no traditions, rules of thumb, or structure. We have structures - OSS kicked them in the pants. Result - anons banned, notes not collected, ebakes, and lots of spam. New standards - no anons banned, spam deleted, CP deleted promptly, same with bread numbers corrected, catalog cleaned.
