ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari announced Tuesday government awards for U.S. Democratic vice presidential nominee Joe Biden and Republican Senator Richard Lugar.

Biden and Lugar in July introduced a bipartisan U.S. aid plan which calls for $1.5 billion per year in non-military spending to support economic development in Pakistan.

Zardari had awarded them the “Hilal-i-Pakistan” (Crescent of Pakistan) “in recognition of their consistent support for Pakistan,” the government said in a statement.

This piece spells out some of the options before us in the withdrawal, and a key point I had missed is that the US has frozen billions of dollars of funds, pending completion of the withdrawal. This is key, and explains why the Taliban are being cooperative.

Article also points out how vulnerable the planes and the tarmac at Kabul airport are to mortar fire. They are in easy range and basically sitting ducks if the Taliban decided to do something.

KNEWZ EXCLUSIVE: Jeffrey Epstein Worked As FBI Informant, Documents Prove

New York (KNEWZ) — Dead child sex abuser Jeffrey Epstein avoided federal criminal charges by becoming a government turncoat in 2008, Knewz.com has learned, putting his relationship with Prince Andrew under increased scrutiny.

Epstein — who died from what authorities ruled a suicide in August, 2019, at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York — offered up evidence to the FBI “as agreed upon,” according to official FBI documents obtained by Knewz.com.

As his former party pal Prince Andrew is sued in federal court for alleged sex abuse in Epstein’s company, it’s a damning revelation that could put new pressure on the British royal to speak with American authorities at last about what he knows.

The secret is spilled in a long-buried FBI document titled, “SYNOPSIS: REQUEST CLOSING OF FORFEITURE SUBFILE FF,” in which an FBI agent detailed how Epstein started spilling secrets to the US government.

The document reads: “On 9/11/08, case agent advised writer that Epstein is currently being prosecuted by the State of Florida and is complying with all conditions of his plea with the State of Florida. Epstein has also provided information to the FBI has agreed upon. Case agent advised that no federal prosecution will occur in this matter as long as Epstein continues to uphold his agreement with the State of Florida.”

What secrets the disgraced financier divulged to the FBI, which was run at the time by Robert Mueller, are not known.

What is settled fact is that Epstein and Prince Andrew were close friends dating back to 1999 when the disgraced royal was introduced to Epstein through their mutual connection, British socialite and alleged Epstein madam, Ghislaine Maxwell. The next year, the pair was spotted at Royal Ascot. The two men were also photographed walking together in Centra Park in 2010 — two years after Epstein pled guilty to a felony charge of solicitation of a prostitution involving a minor. (Epstein was sentenced to 18 months in prison; he served 13).

During his time as a federal rat, he also met Bill Gates, the Microsoft co-founder.

The New York Times has reported that beginning in 2011, Gates met with Epstein on numerous occasions — including at least three times at Mr. Epstein’s palatial Manhattan townhouse, and at least once staying late into the night. Gates has subsequently said his meetings with Epstein were a “huge mistake.”

Before the uber-wealthy sexual predator’s friendship with Gates — and before he came an informant — Epstein was linked to billionaires including Leslie Wexner and Leon Black, politicians Bill Clinton, Donald Trump and Bill Richardson, along with Nobel laureates, Murray Gell-Mann and Frank Wilczek, among others. All men have denied any wrongdoing through their acquaintances.

In 2002, Former President Clinton was photographed receiving a neck massage from alleged Epstein victim Chauntae Davies, who was 22 at the time, during a philanthropic mission to Africa on Epstein’s so-called Lolita Express.

Despite being accused of molesting underage girls, Epstein struck an infamous “sweetheart” plea deal in 2008 that allowed him to get out of jail after a minimal sentence. According to recent lawsuits, it also allowed the child predator to continue to abuse girls and women.

The deal was masterminded by former Trump labor secretary Alex Acosta, then-U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, forced federal law-enforcement to turn a blind eye and have Epstein plead to prostitution charges in stat-based plea agreement on two counts of soliciting prostitution from a minor.

Epstein was sentenced to 13 months in prison, where he was allowed to spend 12 hours a day outside of the facility on “work release.” He was also made to register as a sex offender.
