"Acute Radiation Syndrome (ARS) (sometimes known as radiation toxicity or radiation sickness) is an acute illness caused by irradiation of the entire body (or most of the body) by a high dose of penetrating radiation in a very short period of time (usually a matter of minutes). The major cause of this syndrome is depletion of immature parenchymal stem cells in specific tissues. Examples of people who suffered from ARS are the survivors of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombs, the firefighters that first responded after the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant event in 1986, and some unintentional exposures to sterilization irradiators."

The three classic ARS Syndromes are:

Bone marrow syndrome (sometimes referred to as hematopoietic syndrome)

The full syndrome will usually occur with a dose between 0.7 and 10 Gy (70 -- 1000 rads) though mild symptoms may occur as low as 0.3 Gy or 30 rads4.

The survival rate of patients with this syndrome decreases with increasing dose. The primary cause of death is the destruction of the bone marrow, resulting in infection and hemorrhage.

Gastrointestinal (GI) syndrome:

The full syndrome will usually occur with a dose greater than approximately 10 Gy (1000 rads) although some symptoms may occur as low as 6 Gy or 600 rads.

Survival is extremely unlikely with this syndrome. Destructive and irreparable changes in the GI tract and bone marrow usually cause infection, dehydration, and electrolyte imbalance. Death usually occurs within 2 weeks.

Cardiovascular (CV)/ Central Nervous System (CNS) syndrome:

The full syndrome will usually occur with a dose greater than approximately 50 Gy (5000 rads) although some symptoms may occur as low as 20 Gy or 2000 rads.

Death occurs within 3 days. Death likely is due to collapse of the circulatory system as well as increased pressure in the confining cranial vault as the result of increased fluid content caused by edema, vasculitis, and meningitis.

Diagnosis

The diagnosis of ARS can be difficult to make because ARS causes no unique disease. Also, depending on the dose, the prodromal stage may not occur for hours or days after exposure, or the patient may already be in the latent stage by the time they receive treatment, in which case the patient may appear and feel well when first assessed.

RADIATION PNEUMONITIS

Radiation pneumonitis is inflammation of the lung caused by radiation therapy to the chest. It most commonly develops 1 to 3 months after treatment is over, but it can happen up to 6 months after treatment. Chronic pneumonitis can lead to permanent scarring of the lungs (called pulmonary fibrosis).

Causes

Radiation pneumonitis is more likely to happen when high doses of radiation are used or a large area of the lung is treated with radiation. Certain chemotherapy drugs, such as bleomycin (Blenoxane), cyclophosphamide (Procytox) and carmustine (BiCNU, BCNU), can also increase the risk of developing radiation pneumonitis if given along with radiation therapy.

Pulmonary fibrosis is a lung disease that occurs when lung tissue becomes damaged and scarred. This thickened, stiff tissue makes it more difficult for your lungs to work properly. As pulmonary fibrosis worsens, you become progressively more short of breath.

The scarring associated with pulmonary fibrosis can be caused by a multitude of factors. But in most cases, doctors can't pinpoint what's causing the problem. When a cause can't be found, the condition is termed idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

The lung damage caused by pulmonary fibrosis can't be repaired, but medications and therapies can sometimes help ease symptoms and improve quality of life. For some people, a lung transplant might be appropriate.

Dermatologists around the world have noticed an increasing number of patients presenting with an unusual rash that may be related to COVID-19: red-purple, tender or itchy bumps that develop mostly on the toes, but also on the heels and fingers. The skin findings resemble perniosis or chilblains, a rash that typically is associated with exposure to cold conditions. According to Dr. Harp, “These skin findings are typically linked to cold weather. So seeing so much of it now is very unusual. Since COVID-19 is a new disease, there is very little data about it, including about COVID toe. However, physicians have observed that the majority of patients who develop COVID toes do not become severely ill from the virus.

Cutaneous Radiation Syndrome (CRS)

The concept of cutaneous radiation syndrome (CRS) was introduced in recent years to describe the complex pathological syndrome that results from acute radiation exposure to the skin.

ARS usually will be accompanied by some skin damage. It is also possible to receive a damaging dose to the skin without symptoms of ARS, especially with acute exposures to beta radiation or X-rays. Sometimes this occurs when radioactive materials contaminate a patient’s skin or clothes.

When the basal cell layer of the skin is damaged by radiation, inflammation, erythema, and dry or moist desquamation can occur. Also, hair follicles may be damaged, causing epilation. Within a few hours after irradiation, a transient and inconsistent erythema (associated with itching) can occur. Then, a latent phase may occur and last from a few days up to several weeks, when intense reddening, blistering, and ulceration of the irradiated site are visible.

In most cases, healing occurs by regenerative means; however, very large skin doses can cause permanent hair loss, damaged sebaceous and sweat glands, atrophy, fibrosis, decreased or increased skin pigmentation, and ulceration or necrosis of the exposed tissue.

[A]lthough the dose ranges provided in this document apply to most healthy adult members of the public, a great deal of variability of radiosensitivity among individuals exists, depending upon the age and condition of health of the individual at the time of exposure. Children and infants are especially sensitive.

In about one-quarter of patients in the new study, diarrhea and other digestive symptoms were the only symptoms seen in mild COVID-19 cases, and those patients sought medical care later than those with respiratory symptoms.

"Failure to recognize these patients early and often may lead to unwitting spread of the disease among outpatients with mild illness, who remain undiagnosed and unaware of their potential to infect others," said a team from Union Hospital and Tongji Medical College in Wuhan, China, the original epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic.

The study is not the first to report digestive symptoms as a sign of COVID-19. Results from our recent studies have led to the novel hypothesis that radiation-induced coagulopathy (RIC) and associated hemorrhage occurring as part of the acute radiation syndrome (ARS) is a major cause of death resulting from radiation exposure in large mammals, including humans. This article contains information related to RIC, as well as potential strategies for the prevention and treatment of RIC. In addition, new findings are reported here on the occurrence of RIC biomarkers in humans exposed to radiation. To determine whether irradiated humans have RIC biomarkers, blood samples were obtained from radiotherapy patients who received treatment for different types of malignancies.

Blood samples from allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (allo-HCT) patients obtained before, during and after irradiation indicated that exposure led to prolonged clot formation times, increased levels of thrombin-antithrombin III (TAT) complex and increased circulating nucleosome/ histone (cNH) levels, which suggest potential coagulopathies in the allo-HCT patients. Since these allo-HCT patients received chemotherapy prior to radiotherapy, it is possible that the chemical agents could have influenced the observed results. Frozen plasma samples from radiotherapy patients with prostate, lung and breast cancer were also obtained for analyses of cNH levels.

The results indicated that some of these patients had very high cNH blood levels. Analysis of cNH levels in plasma samples from irradiated ferrets also indicated increased cNH levels compared to preirradiation baseline levels. The results from irradiated animals and some radiotherapy patients suggest the possibility that anti-histone antibodies, which block the toxic effects of elevated cNH levels in the blood, might be useful as therapeutic agents for adverse biological radiation-induced effects. The detection of increased levels of cNH in some radiotherapy patient blood samples demonstrates its potential as a biomarker for diagnosing and/or predicting the propensity for developing coagulopathies/hemorrhage, offering possible treatment options with personalized medicine therapies for cancer patients.

Dose of radiation was directly proportional to ototoxicity, minimum 60 Gys of total radiation dose was required to produce significant ototoxicity.

Common complaints experienced by the patients after irradiation was ear heaviness, earache, decreased hearing, tinnitus and dizziness. All these were acute and transient complaints which may start as early as immediately after the radiotherapy, may appear later, might last till 6 months. Bohne et al. [1] in their study have mentioned slight pain or discomfort in the ear as well as tinnitus as symptoms of serous otitis media resulting due to ionizing radiation of the ear. They attributed tinnitus to acute changes consisting of edema of the middle ear mucosa, radiation otitis media and transient vasculitis of the vessels of the inner and middle ear. Borsanyi et al. [2] and Evans et al. [3] found that tinnitus was one of the symptoms of radiation otitis media and was an occasional, early and temporary complaint in the affected ear.

From her room inside the nursing home, Judie Shape has heard the coughs of other residents with the novel coronavirus illness down the hall and watched the ambulances come and go for weeks.

Shape, 81, had moved into Kirkland’s Life Care Center on Feb. 26 for short-term care following time in the hospital for blood-clot surgery. It was terrible timing: that same day, Life Care said it notified state officials of an outbreak of severe respiratory illness, which staff had noticed was spreading for weeks.

But the outbreak, which turned out to be COVID-19, may have been circulating in the facility much longer. A Life Care official said staff noticed a respiratory outbreak by Feb. 10, and interviews and a review of 911 call logs obtained by The Seattle Times show it could have appeared even sooner.

Exacerbating the problem: Confusion inside the nursing home and among state health officials over who was responsible for testing sick patients allowed the disease to continue spreading, turning Life Care into the nation’s largest source of COVID-19 fatalities.

Last month, there were 120 residents at Life Care. As of Wednesday, at least 81 have tested positive for the coronavirus and of those, 34 have died, as well as a visitor. About a fourth of the coronavirus fatalities in the U.S. have been linked to the nursing home, according to state and federal data.

Interviews with residents’ family members and a review of 911 call logs obtained by The Seattle Times show a tragedy slowly unfolding. And as nursing homes nationwide prepare to protect residents from a virus that is especially dangerous for the elderly, the situation in Kirkland demonstrates a worst-case scenario and a cautionary tale for other facilities.

Eleven percent of people killed by the virus died in nursing homes or long-term-care centers, but the facilities are linked to many more COVID-19 fatalities --- more than 54,000, or 43 percent of the national toll when accounting for workers who contracted the disease at the facilities, according to a New York Times database.

In at least 24 states, the majority of deaths were nursing-home-related. New Hampshire recorded the largest percentage of nursing-home COVID-19 deaths, with 80 percent, or 293, of the state’s fatalities coming from the facilities. Rhode Island and Minnesota followed, each with 77 percent, according to the database, which includes stats from the facilities, along with local, state and federal governments.

The data also show the death rate is a staggering 17 percent among infected nursing-home patients, compared with 5 percent nationwide.

By using any individual or set of geolocation latitudes and longitudes, you can do a "spatial join" and find intersections of places and cellular provider signals and over time.

Not everyone will understand the significance of what you have here, but hopefully many will in time.

Geiger Counter search term on Google Trends over time.

The key aspect here is it spiked in Summer 2019 and it spiked from New Mexico.

Several days after I grabbed these and socialized some related research, Google wiped out the spike for "geiger counter", but not for the other terms in the screen grabs shown here.

Two of the US Department of Energy weapons labs - Sandia and Los Alamos - are in New Mexico. These two labs make up a good percentage of the advanced degrees in the small state of New Mexico. It ranks 17th in the country for advanced degrees largely because of these labs.

This is a standard geiger counter and geiger tube.

I have a hunch that many Fortune 500 companies hired scientists around the country to measure their office building radiation levels. Both for a background reading prior to the 5G rollout and for impact afterwards.

If you saw anything that looked like this in 2019 or 2020 at work, near a window and facing cellular emitters on opposing buildings or nearby cell towers, then there are good odds your employer knows something you don't.

And they never shared the report.

Working with nuclear secrets stolen from an American Government laboratory, China has made a leap in the development of nuclear weapons: the miniaturization of its bombs, according to Administration officials.

Until recently, China's nuclear weapons designs were a generation behind those of the United States, largely because Beijing was unable to produce small warheads that could be launched from a single missile at multiple targets and form the backbone of a modern nuclear force.

Traditional American methods of regulation, overseen by a federal agency that is among the worst of all time, plainly don't work. When President Obama's critics say that he has failed to "take control" of the situation in the Gulf, they may not fully recognize the implications of their complaint, but Chris Matthews does. The frustrated "Hardball" host, who is not known as an adversary of corporate power, was probably the first mainstream journalist, but may not be the last, to ask: "Why doesn't the president go in there, nationalize an industry, and get the job done for the people?"

The telecommunications industry and their experts have accused many scientists who have researched the effects of cell phone radiation of "fear mongering" over the advent of wireless technology's 5G. Since much of our research is publicly-funded, we believe it is our ethical responsibility to inform the public about what the peer-reviewed scientific literature tells us about the health risks from wireless radiation.

The chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) recently announced through a press release that the commission will soon reaffirm the radio frequency radiation (RFR) exposure limits that the FCC adopted in the late 1990s. These limits are based upon a behavioral change in rats exposed to microwave radiation and were designed to protect us from short-term heating risks due to RFR exposure.

Yet, since the FCC adopted these limits based largely on research from the 1980s, the preponderance of peer-reviewed research, more than 500 studies, have found harmful biologic or health effects from exposure to RFR at intensities too low to cause significant heating.

Citing this large body of research, more than 240 scientists who have published peer-reviewed research on the biologic and health effects of nonionizing electromagnetic fields (EMF) signed the International EMF Scientist Appeal, which calls for stronger exposure limits. The appeal makes the following assertions:

“Numerous recent scientific publications have shown that EMF affects living organisms at levels well below most international and national guidelines. Effects include increased cancer risk, cellular stress, increase in harmful free radicals, genetic damages, structural and functional changes of the reproductive system, learning and memory deficits, neurological disorders, and negative impacts on general well-being in humans. Damage goes well beyond the human race, as there is growing evidence of harmful effects to both plant and animal life.”

The scientists who signed this appeal arguably constitute the majority of experts on the effects of nonionizing radiation. They have published more than 2,000 papers and letters on EMF in professional journals.

Joe Biden has said Trump is 'going after China in the wrong way'

White House trade adviser Peter Navarro accused the Democratic Party and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) of being in cahoots in the 2020 presidential election to defeat President Trump.

Navarro leveled the accusation Wednesday in the driveway of the White House. When asked by a reporter for proof of the accusation, he replied: "It's obvious."

"What I think is happening here is the Democrat Party and the Chinese Communist Party have entered into a common cause to defeat Donald J. Trump and their whole strategy is based on blaming this administration for a global pandemic created by the Chinese Communist Party," said Navarro, the director of the Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy.

He blasted Democrats for faulting Trump for the coronavirus pandemic and failing to blame China during the Democratic National Convention. The coronavirus pandemic has killed more than 172,000 Americans and the subsequent recession has forced about 56 million Americans to file unemployment claims.

Navarro's comments seemed like a Washington double-speak substitution, but he was really accusing the Democrats of coordinating treason with the Chinese Communist Party.
