Pesticides and herbicides are toxic by design, engineered to kill living organisms. When we apply them across millions of acres and allow them into our food system, we put Americans at risk. Chemical manufacturers have paid tens of billions of dollars to settle cancer claims linked to their products, and many agricultural communities report elevated cancer rates and chronic disease.

Unfortunately, our agricultural system depends heavily on these chemicals. The U.S. represents 4% of the world’s population, yet we use roughly 25% of its pesticides. If these inputs disappeared overnight, crop yields would fall, food prices would surge, and America would experience a massive loss of farms even beyond what we are witnessing today. The consequences would be disastrous.

I support President Trump’s Executive Order to bring agricultural chemical production back to the United States and end our near-total reliance on adversarial nations. His EO protects two pillars of national strength: our defense readiness and our food supply. When hostile actors control critical inputs, they directly threaten the security of the American people. The Trump administration will secure these supply chains to eliminate that vulnerability.

President Trump did not build our current system — he inherited it. For decades, Washington designed modern agriculture. Policymakers wrote farm policy, directed research dollars, structured subsidies and crop insurance, and shaped commodity markets to reward monocultures and maximum yield. Those deliberate choices locked farmers into chemical dependence and prioritized short-term output over long-term soil vitality and human health.

We are now changing course — without destabilizing the food supply.

Alongside @USDA @SecRollins, we are accelerating the transition to regenerative agriculture by expanding farming systems that rebuild soil, increase biodiversity, improve water retention, and reduce reliance on synthetic chemicals, including pre-harvest desiccation.

We are also driving the rapid adoption of next-generation technologies, including laser-guided weed control, electrothermal and electrical systems, robotics, precision mechanical cultivation, and biological controls that replace blanket spraying with precision intervention.

These solutions are not theoretical. Farmers are already putting them to work. Markets are scaling them. Now the federal government will act with urgency to expand their reach and accelerate adoption nationwide.

I have met with hundreds of farmers and agricultural leaders across the country. They understand the pressures firsthand. Chemical inputs cut into margins. Chemical-resistant pests are spreading. Soil health is declining. Foreign markets are shutting out American produce. Farmers want workable alternatives, and they want policies that support transition without threatening their livelihoods.

Larry Summers was the economic architect of the Clinton presidency - Deputy Treasury Secretary, then Treasury Secretary, one of the most powerful men in Washington. Clinton trusted him with the global financial system.

The documents show 55 confirmed meetings across 14 locations over 14 years. New York. Cambridge. Palm Beach. Kazakhstan. Davos. Paris. Saudi Arabia. At Epstein's 71st Street mansion at least 20 times.

Epstein at Summers' home in Brookline at least 4 times.

55 meetings is not "contact." 55 meetings is a relationship.

Summers says he had "no involvement in [Epstein's] financial matters."

The documents show Epstein was Summers' de facto business agent.

Epstein set Summers' consulting fees. He told the Turkish central bank: $250,000. Summers asked: "R they stooges of Erdogan?"

Epstein arranged the Kazakhstan engagement. "Kazakhs paid!"

Epstein processed payments through his offshore entity in the Virgin Islands. When Summers had travel expenses, his assistant was told: "Jeffrey says to invoice STC!" - Southern Trust Company, St. Thomas, USVI.

Meanwhile, Summers the former Secretary of the Treasury was advising Epstein on tax avoidance:

"If an American with 1 billion showed up in your office aged 55 wanting to live on 100m, give 100m to charity, wanting to get rest of 800m thru to his kids, how little tax could you enable him to pay?"

A former Treasury Secretary asking a convicted sex offender how to minimize estate taxes on $800 million.

Summers says he had "absolutely no knowledge" that he was named in Epstein's will.

Epstein named Summers SUCCESSOR EXECUTOR of his estate - the person entrusted with managing everything if the primary executors couldn't serve. The will was signed November 18, 2014. Summers was advising Epstein on the $800M estate transfer at the same time.

You don't name a casual acquaintance as executor of your estate. And you don't advise someone on their $800 million tax strategy without knowing you're in their will.

Summers' wife Elisa New ("Lisa") developed her own independent financial relationship with Epstein. Her nonprofit Verse Video Education received $220,000+ from Epstein entities - $110,000 from the Epstein Foundation and $110,000 from Gratitude America, an Epstein shell.

When asked who the donor should be listed as, Epstein said: "the supporter is me, no name necessary."

Lisa flew on Epstein's private jet to Palm Beach with Woody Allen and Soon-Yi. She wrote to Epstein afterward: "What fun with woody and soon yi! Up there with Gordon Brown and King Hussein."

She sent annual thank-you letters: "your amazing support without which none of this would have happened. Larry tells me you are the smartest person he knows."

The spokesman says Summers' wife's nonprofit "regrets accepting funding from Epstein." Accepting. As if it landed in her lap. She solicited it with detailed budgets over multiple years.

Epstein actively concealed the Summers relationship. When Leon Black asked for Epstein's Harvard schedule, Epstein told his staff: "yes but leave off summers."

The concealment was mutual. In November 2018 48 hours after the Miami Herald published its devastating "Perversion of Justice" investigation Summers attended dinner at Epstein's 71st Street mansion. His message: "Not helpful to have my office involved. U around this afternoon. New worry."

Two days after an expose about Epstein's sex trafficking, Summers was dining at the man's home while hiding the meeting from his own staff.
