SOGI was initially created… I mean marketed as an anti-bullying program meant to be integrated into policies and procedures, fostering an “inclusive environment” and providing teacher resources.

However, in practice, SOGI has been used to undermine parental rights, intimidate parents and educators who raise questions about SOGI and other ideological/political matters, introduce gender ideologies into educational curricula, and rationalize the inclusion of sexually explicit materials in academic settings.

Waterloo Region councillors voted unanimously to approve an amended bylaw that bans any communication that makes people “feel harassed” on regional properties, after hearing from nearly 20 delegations at a tense meeting Wednesday night.

The bylaw, which purports to protect people from harassment based on protected grounds such as race, religion, gender identity and sexual orientation, was opposed by some residents who claimed it would violate their freedom of speech.

One of the key concerns was that the way the bylaw was written was open to subjective interpretation as to what constituted “being harassed.”

As originally written, the bylaw amendment added “communicating, causing or permitting communication, with any person in a way that causes the person, reasonably in all the circumstances, to feel harassed” to a list of “prohibited activites.”

A Russian 'mystery plane' spotted in North Korea is making Washington nervous, after Kim Jong Un visited Russia to meet with President Vladimir Putin this moth. The two leaders, deemed 'rogue' actors by the West, are believed to have discussed and possibly inked a weapons deal at a moment Moscow needs more ammunition for military operations in Ukraine.

Citing aviation tracking site FlightRadar24, Bloomberg described it as an an unscheduled Russian military VIP plane that landed in Pyongyang earlier this week.

The aircraft was in the North Korean capital for two days, however, both countries have kept mum as to its purpose. It could have been transporting another high-level Russian defense delegation.

"The tail number on the plane indicates it was the same aircraft Russia sent to North Korea in August, just days after Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu traveled to Pyongyang and was guided by Kim through a collection of his country’s latest weaponry," Bloomberg noted.

COVID-19 vaccine was detected in patients who died within a month of vaccination, according to a new study.

U.S. researchers analyzed tissue samples from the autopsies of 25 people, including 20 who were vaccinated.

Samples from the hearts of three patients, all of whom died within 30 days of a Pfizer shot, tested positive for messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA).

Eight bilateral axillary lymph node samples, from people who died within 30 days of a Moderna or Pfizer vaccine, also tested positive. The companies' shots utilize mRNA.

The research shows "the vaccine can persist for up to 30 days, including in the heart," Dr. James Stone, with the departments of pathology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, told The Epoch Times via email.

The study was published by npj Vaccines. Authors declared no conflicts of interest. They said the research was supported by Massachusetts General Hospital, which is in Boston.

In testing of heart and bilateral axillary lymph node tissues from other vaccinated people who died, no vaccine was detected.

Additionally, no vaccine was detected in the liver, spleen, or mediastinal lymph nodes—vaccine was detected in the liver and spleen in preclinical rodent studies before—nor was any detected in tissues from the unvaccinated patients.

The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are known to cause myocarditis, a form of heart inflammation that can result in death.

The people who had mRNA detected in the heart did not have myocarditis, though they did have detectable heart injuries, researchers found.

The researchers said they believed the heart injuries stemmed from underlying diseases and not the vaccines.

"There is no indication as yet that the vaccine in the heart is causing any problems in these patients; neither the causes of death nor the causes of the myocardial injury were linked to the vaccines in that study," said Dr. Stone, one of the authors of the paper.

That position was challenged by Dr. Clare Craig, a British pathologist who reviewed the research.

"The vaccine should not have been there. There was evidence of heart damage. Those three people are now dead," Dr. Craig told The Epoch Times in a message.

She said the researchers were setting too high of a bar for causality.

"At postmortem if there is significant narrowing of the coronary arteries then heart damage is attributed to it on the balance of probabilities. Here this is a clear cut association, an unusual picture of myocardial injury, and a failure to call it out for what it is," Dr. Craig said. Continue...

On September 22, Hunka, a 98-year-old former volunteer with the 14th Waffen SS Grenadier Division, a Nazi military unit declared a criminal organization during the Nuremberg trials in 1946, was invited to the Canadian parliament by Speaker Anthony Rota and lauded as a "hero" who fought against the Russians in World War Two. The World Economic Forum (WEF) is pushing for the criminalization of “climate inaction,” according to a recent article that was written by the unelected organization.

“Is climate inaction a human rights violation?” the headline read.

In it, the author suggested there will be an increasing number of climate-related lawsuits in the coming years.

“Climate-related litigation generally seems poised for expansion,” the article states.

According to the Global Climate Change Litigation database, there have been over 130 cases worldwide that have brought human rights-based claims against governments.

Furthermore, a legal advocate for climate litigation, Clémentine Baldon, told the WEF last year that there is a strong expectation that human rights-related climate claims “will continue to increase.”

On Wednesday, a lawsuit went to the European Court of Human Rights, brought forth by six young individuals against 32 European countries. The six individuals are alleging that the countries’ have failed to address the “climate crisis” caused by human activities.

“It’s being described as “unprecedented” in terms of potential impact,” the WEF stated.

“A win could push some of the wealthiest countries in the world to ramp up their responses to a changing climate; a loss could affect the numerous other legal efforts now underway to target inaction.”

Expect “Pain”

Last year, Norwegian Finance CEO and WEF speaker Kjerstin Braathen said that people should expect “pain,” inflation, and “energy shortages” due to the World Economic Forum and the UN’s climate change agenda.

“We need to accept that there will be some pain in the process,” Braathen said.

“The pace that we need [to end climate change] will open up for missteps. It will open up for shortages of energy. It will create inflationary pressures, and maybe we need to start talking about that — that that pain is actually worth it.”

The Democracy Fund (TDF) said in a press release that it has retained Sarah Miller of JSS Barristers to assist Pawlowski in appealing a conviction of counseling mischief as well as another for breaching a release condition, which mandated that he “keep the peace” and behave.

The TDF noted that a Notice of Criminal Appeal was filed in an Alberta court on Monday.

According to the TDF, Pawlowski’s appeal will focus on a “matter of law.”

“Specifically, he is claiming that the trial judge erred in her interpretation of the Criminal Code and that the Crown failed to prove that he did not attend Coutts for the purpose of communicating information, which can be a defence to the crime of mischief,” the TDF said.

In the court documents, Pawlowski states that “the Crown failed to prove that there was an absence of legal justification for his speech, namely freedom of expression as enshrined in the Charter of Rights and Freedom.” Continue...

A shocking new report reveals that hundreds of underaged Canadian girls have had their breasts surgically removed as part of so-called “gender affirming care” to accommodate their preferred gender identities.

The numbers were crunched by the Canadian Institute for Health Information and first reported by the National Post.

As of 2018, healthcare statistics show that 602 patients under the age of 18 were recorded as receiving a double-mastectomy. Nearly half, (303) were kids under the age of 17 with the lowest recorded age being 14-years-old.

The actual number of minors who have undergone life-changing surgeries to accommodate their gender identities is likely larger as private clinics that cater to transgender clients were not included. Additionally, Quebec hospital data were unavailable.

A doctor familiar who chose to remain anonymous to protect their professional reputation told the National Post that it’s concerning that the full data is unavailable.

“The fact that you can’t get the numbers from private clinics…. It’s very cloak-and-dagger,” said the physician.

“They’re still billing OHIP. That’s tax dollars. That should be publicly accessible information. We need to see these numbers and ask questions.”

Food Banks Canada has published its first ever national report card on poverty and it’s not looking good for all levels of government.

According to the organization’s poverty index, Canada scored a D+ overall when it comes to the elimination of poverty and food insecurity.

“All governments in Canada are proving quite frankly inadequate in their approach to poverty reduction across the board,” Food Banks Canada CEO Kristin Beardsley told CTV News.

“We need to see more action everywhere.”

To achieve its score, the organization relied on data and surveys that gauged Canadians’ experiences, poverty measurements, standard of living and levels of progress on eliminating poverty.

Overall Canada’s poor score stood out when it came to how many people said they were paying over 30% of their income on housing and Canadians expressing that they experience an inadequate standard of living.

“Housing has been among the top issues in Canada for several years. As the cost of housing skyrocketed through the pandemic, the situation went from bad to worse. Most Canadians don't want to pay a carbon tax — period. They want it reduced or eliminated entirely, says a new Leger poll.

Of respondents, over half (55%) wanted the carbon tax reduced (18%) or abolished (37%), while a quarter (27%) are content with the status quo, reported the National Post.

Less than one in five (18%) Canadians want to pay annual tax hikes until 2030, when all except Québec will pay $170 per tonne of carbon emissions.

As of April 1, Québec pays 9 cents per litre of gas. It will rise to 22.5 cents per litre of gas by 2030.

The carbon tax currently costs Albertans 14.4 cents per litre of gas — up from 8.8 cents in 2021. That is expected to rise to 37.6 cents in 2030.

"It's become quite clear that the price the federal government has set is not the same in every province," Alberta Premier Danielle Smith told reporters on May 26.

"Québec is going to have a much lower carbon tax price than Alberta, and I suppose if the federal government were going to interfere in this matter, the courts would frown on differential pricing."

On December 9, the UCP leader told reporters she would look at using the Alberta Sovereignty Act to investigate this discrepancy. The party has yet to confirm if or when that motion would be tabled.

Thousands of Ontarians died waiting for healthcare last year, according to a new report.

The report from CUPE’s Ontario Council of Hospital Unions (OCHU) found that 11,000 Ontarians died last year while on waiting lists for surgeries, CT scans and MRIs over the course of 2022.

Currently, there are over 200,000 Ontarians still on the province’s surgical waitlist.

“I’m medically burnt out. It’s a fight. I have a little son, he’s five years old, and I promised him I would be at his wedding,” said 38-year old Jordanne Bialo, an Ontario patient who has been waiting for answers and treatment after falling ill in October 2020.

“That’s why I fight – for my family. It’s a full time job. It’s a full time job to be a patient right now.” Bialo told CityNews Toronto.

Bialo said that it took three years before she received a diagnosis from a doctor about her rare genetic tumour syndrome, known as Cowden syndrome. She will require a double mastectomy, which currently has a minimum wait time of one-year.

Her experience of long wait times is becoming all too common.

“I am full of these tumours that can turn any minute – it’s like Russian roulette and I just have to continue to keep pushing,” she said.

Bialo had a hysterectomy in July, after spending a year and a half waiting to see a gynecologist. Once she was able to see a doctor, they discovered four additional tumours on her back. Continue...

But after pressure from far-left trans activists, the venue cancelled the event, claiming the purpose of the talk was in "promoting discrimination, contempt, or hatred" against people who identify as transgender.

Murphy, whose event in Ladysmith on Sunday sold out, slammed the CCC over its decision, accusing administrators of discriminating against her and those who stand up for the rights of women in Canada. Murphy is an outspoken Canadian woman who stands up for the rights of women and girls to have sex-segregated spaces. She also speaks against the inclusion of males who claim to be women among natural born women. An independent journalist based out of England has been arrested for sharing "malinformation" about Ukraine.

In accordance with the new Online Safety Act, also known as the United Kingdom's censorship law, Warren Thornton, who runs the podcast "The Real Truth," was in the midst of streaming on September 24 when police officers in Bristol showed up at his door and demanded entry in order to speak with him.

For the apparent crime of spreading "misinformation" about the situation in Ukraine, Thornton was hauled off by the cops and will presumably now be charged with some kind of "crime" for his disobedient speech.

"Thornton is a critic of NATO's escalation of the war in Ukraine and has posted several videos about Ukrainian attacks on Russian civilians and the secret existence of biolabs in Ukraine," reported Human Events about the incident.

"He was also quick to report how a former Waffen-SS Nazi soldier was allowed to sit in the Canadian House of Commons Gallery during a speech by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy."

Canada is similarly drafting its own censorship bill to do the same thing there

Scarily, our neighbors to the north are planning on unleashing a similar bill. Canada's left-wing government is preparing nearly identical legislation as the U.K.'s Online Safety Act that will punish as a crime the spread of "disinformation" on the internet.

A Canadian judge ruled against a father who did not want his kids to get the COVID shots and has instead given the children’s mother, who is in favor of the shots for her kids, full “decision-making authority regarding the injections.

Ontario Divisional Court Justice Shaun O’Brien issued the ruling last Thursday that overturned a previous court judgment by Superior Court Justice Richard Bennett from early this year that sided in favor of the father.

As reported by LifeSiteNews in February, Bennett ruled in favor of the divorced father of the three kids, known as J.W.T., siding with the dad who challenged vaccine effectiveness and safety in a fight to keep his children from getting the experimental shots.

Via a 67-page ruling, Bennett agreed that the father had a right to cite “expert evidence” during his court case concerning COVID-19 safety. This allowed the case to proceed to trial.

The kids’ mother, identified as S.E.G, appealed the ruling.

Disclosed records show the Canadian government’s Environment and Climate Change Department (ECCC) helped pay the World Economic Forum (WEF) to produce a report that praised and tried to justify the implementation of a radical environmental agenda on citizens, including increasing the punishing carbon tax.

According to documents obtained by The Epoch Times, Canada’s then-Environment and Climate Change Minister Catherine McKenna in August 2019 had allotted $493,937 of taxpayer money to the WEF to produce the carbon tax-friendly “New Nature Economy Report.”

The goal was to make a strong business case to key business and government decision-makers for extreme environmental rules such as a carbon tax.

The ECCC said its report “will be directed at senior decision-makers in governments and businesses who have the influence and ability to shift business-as-usual approach.”

The disclosed documents became known via Order Paper questions requested by Conservative Party of Canada MP Leslyn Lewis in June 2023. Lewis had asked for a full disclosure of all “contracts, transfer payments, memoranda of understanding, letters of intent, charters, accords, projects and associations between the government and the WEF since November 4, 2015.”

A research report prepared for New Brunswick’s Climate Change Secretariat concluded that to reach federal and provincial net-zero emission reduction targets by 2050, a “compulsory” carbon price of over $350 per tonne would be required.

The report, titled Pathways to Net Zero Greenhouse Gas Emissions in New Brunswick, was prepared by Navius Research as a guide to policy makers.

“Both New Brunswick and the federal government have established a target of achieving net zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050. Such a target implies reducing emissions to as close to zero as possible while counter-balancing any remaining emissions through carbon dioxide removals from the atmosphere,” wrote analysts.

According to records tabled by Conservative MP Kelly McCauley in response to an Order Paper Question, Governor General Mary Simon and her predecessor Julie Payette spent $117,566 on professional dry-cleaning services.

The records note, “traditional laundering is done in-house,” but Rideau Hall outsourced everything from personal clothing, tablecloths, napkins and assorted linens for professional dry cleaning.

“When I spill half the Pizza Hut lunch buffet on my white work shirt, I don’t stick the company I work for with the dry-cleaning bill and neither should the governor general,” said Franco Terrazzano, CTF Federal Director.

A bizarre class-action lawsuit against the U.S. government may not proceed after the Québec Court of Appeal said the country cannot be sued in Canada for its alleged role in brainwashing psychiatric patients.

The lawsuit — which has not been authorized by a judge — claims Dr. Donald Ewen Cameron performed unlawful experiments at the Allan Memorial Institute between 1948 and 1964 as part of the CIA’s MK-ULTRA program on covert mind-control.

The program allegedly received joint funding from the Canadian government and the CIA during that period for experiments at the Institute in conjunction with McGill University.

But a 3-0 decision rendered on October 2 contends a 1982 Canadian law on suing foreign states cannot be used retroactively.

As many as 300 families could have participated in the class action if approved.

The January 2019 class-action application against McGill, the Royal Victoria Hospital and the Canadian and U.S. governments alleged Montrealers had their memories erased by the experiments.

Canada has issued more than a dozen special permits allowing companies to circumvent sanctions imposed on Russia over the Ukraine conflict, news outlet Le Devoir reported on Tuesday, citing federal data on international trade.

A number of transactions took place in the first seven months of this year “on the sidelines of the Ukrainian counteroffensive,” the outlet claimed.

The Canadian Foreign Ministry has confirmed the existence of the permits but refused to specify their exact number, according to Le Devoir. The ministry also declined to give the reasons which led to their issuance or the beneficiaries, citing “commercial confidentiality.”

According to the outlet, the permits allow sanctions imposed by Ottawa to be bypassed in areas considered “delicate for Ukraine’s allies,” such as exports of materials and equipment linked to weapons manufacturing as well as oil and mining exploration.

The total value of oil and mining deals authorized by Ottawa has reached $2 million (Can$2.8 million) since March 2022. In addition, Canadian companies have exported drilling machines for soil probes to Russia along with spare parts worth about $1.4 million. The most recent transaction was in February 2023.

Highest-earning foreign companies operating in Russia revealed

As part of trade placed outside Canada’s sanctions regime, companies have also supplied Russia with several-thousand dollars’ worth of aluminum parts, static electrical converters, X-ray machines, and devices using alpha, beta, gamma or other ionizing radiation, according to Le Devoir. The outlet noted that this equipment is listed in Canada’s sanctions regulations due to its possible use in weapons production.

Several Canadian companies were allowed to bypass sanctions on imports of Russian iron, cast iron, and steel products. That includes $13.1 million worth of iron and steel tubes, which can be used in the mining and oil sectors, data compiled by Le Devoir revealed.

Government permits have also maintained supplies of items described as “luxury” and goods targeted by Canadian restrictions such as fresh fish, shellfish, and other seafood products, as well as vodka, for a total amount exceeding $12.3 million since the beginning of the Ukraine conflict.

Swanton Sector Border Patrol agents apprehended more than 6,800 migrants during the recently ended Fiscal Year 23. This is more than the total apprehensions during the past 11 years, according to the sector chief.

Swanton Sector Chief Patrol Agent Robert Garcia posted on X, formerly Twitter, that his agents apprehended more than 6,700 migrants in less than a year. Unofficial numbers reviewed by Breitbart Texas indicated that the number rose to more than 6,800 by September 30. Garcia stated this is more apprehensions than during the past 11 years combined.

During September, Swanton Sector agents took approximately 860 migrnts into custody. This compared to 236 during the same month in 2022, according to the Nationwide Encounters Report from U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The official report shows the apprehension of 5,970 migrants during the first 11 months of the fiscal year. Of those, 2,937 (49 percent) were Mexican nationals who crossed the Canadian border into northeast New York, Vermont, or New Hampshire.

Approximately 2,600 of the Mexican nationals apprehended were classified as single adults. The agents also apprehended 316 family units and three unaccompanied minors.

Oh, no, wait, he was actually in the Waffen SS, namely the First Galician Division – a unit that mostly consisted of Ukrainians and killed Poles and Jews. A recent report from Deloitte Canada predicts that production of oil in Canada is set to reach a record high by 2025, largely thanks to the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion project.

The report says that the pipeline, connecting Alberta’s oil sands to the West Coast, will add approximately 375,000 barrels of oil per day to Canada’s production output.

Current projections indicate that the Trans Mountain Expansion will be completed by 2024 and enter into operation.

The completed pipeline will increase Canada’s oil production by 8% compared to its previous peak in November 2022 and nearly nine percent compared to June 2023.

The growth is more than what Canada’s oil production has increased in the past five years combined.

“The increase in volume is notable: it’s greater than the total amount added to Canada’s production levels over the past five years combined,” analysts wrote.

The pipeline expansion will also help Canada sell its oil to more places beyond the United States.

Right now, most of Canada’s oil goes to the U.S., but this expansion will reduce that dependency.

In 2018, the Trans Mountain Expansion was purchased by the federal government for $4.5 billion. To date, the government has considered selling the project to Indigenous groups.

According to the report, this is expected to make Canadian oil prices closer to U.S. prices, which will be good for Canadian oil producers.

Most of the new oil production will be due to oil sands development, where innovation is making it cheaper and faster to get the oil.

The report also mentions that, despite more oil being produced in Canada and the U.S., global oil prices will likely stay high in 2024.

This is not the only recent good news the oil and gas industry has heard.

Estimates reported by the Canadian Energy Centre earlier this month reveal that the oil sands sector will generate nearly half a trillion dollars in tax revenues for Canadians.

On Wednesday, McDonald, who serves the Avalon riding in Newfoundland and Labrador, voted alongside the federal Conservatives to repeal the carbon tax

He was the only member of the Liberal, NDP or Bloc Québécois caucuses to vote for a repeal.

“Everywhere I go, people come up to me and say, you know, ‘We’re losing faith in the Liberal party’,” said McDonald in an interview with CBC News.

“I think they will lose seats not just in Newfoundland, not just in Atlantic Canada, but indeed right across the country if they don’t get a grasp on this the way that I think they should.… And if an election were called today, I’m not sure if the Liberal party would actually form the government.”

Additionally, McDonald also expressed uncertainty that federal Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault was the right candidate to sell the idea of the carbon tax to those living in Atlantic Canada.

“He’s not, because he’s so entrenched in it,” said McDonald. “And I get it, where he came from, and his whole idea of making a big difference in climate change, but you can’t do it all overnight. The London, Ont. university sent an email to its staff and students Oct. 3, warning them that the “Building Inclusivity through Anti-Racism” online module is “required training,” with a passing grade of 80%.

“To make this [inclusivity] possible, it is critical that we participate in the process of learning and unlearning to dismantle the systemic barriers embedded in our societal and institutional culture,” reads the email.

Western students and staff have until Nov. 24 to complete the 45-minute program.

While Western University is mandating that all staff and students complete the module before the November deadline, the university has not made clear what the repercussions for failing to complete it are.

The Financial Consumer Agency of Canada said it only knew of those closures through complaints filed with regulators. While the agency did not explain the closures, the figures said it excluded substantiated terrorism and money laundering.

But among those complaints are 267 bank accounts and 170 bitcoin wallets from Freedom Convoy supporters, with an estimated $7.8 million in holdings.

“We primarily relied upon the names provided by the RCMP but there were obligations under the order separate that required banks to make their own determinations,” testified Angelina Mason, general counsel for the Bankers Association, at a March 7, 2022 hearing at the Commons finance committee.

“We did not rely on external information,” she told MPs.

“Were there accounts of individuals frozen that did not appear on a list of names submitted by banks to the RCMP?” asked New Democrat MP Daniel Blaikie.

Mason replied: “Yes.”

According to federal law, banks can only cancel account holders in cases of alleged criminality.

Ammara Amjad, 29, from Milton, Ontario, was charged for her alleged participation in Islamic State activities.

Amjad returned from Syria on April 4, 2023.

She was arrested following an investigation by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Federal Policing Integrated National Security Enforcement Team (INSET).

Amjad was charged with participating in the activity of a Terrorist Group contrary to Section 83.18 of the Criminal Code.

The “Reclaiming Nature Spaces” project is also open to visible minorities, LGBTQ people, and those who are disabled, amid the scholars behind the project claiming that outdoor culture has been “historically been white, able-bodied, heterosexual, (and) male” dominated.

A project overview document obtained by True North notes that “racialized people, women, the LGBTQ+ community, disabled people, and those who identify as fat have all created grassroots programs to support each other in a constellation of resistance against what outdoor culture has historically been: white, able-bodied, heterosexual, male.”

The project “seeks to uplift and amplify these structures of resistance by learning from and with the very people who are doing what their ancestors could not do.”

The multi-site project has several objectives to “reclaim” outdoor culture. These include challenging “dominant narratives that reproduce the white heteropatriarchy and tend to recolonize outdoor culture” and learning how groups “navigate, negotiate, resist, and interpret recreation on stolen (Indigenous) land.”

The West’s trajectory into the realm of a reimagined Marxism has been nothing short of catastrophic – historically, but never more so than in the present. Marked by the rise of postmodern neo-Marxism, wokism and nihilism, this resurgence has infiltrated society in academia, corporations, the entertainment industry and our legislative bodies.

It is a trajectory that demands our attention and invites reflection on how we reached this point and what it might mean for our future.

Akin to the Hell of Milton’s Paradise Lost, our universities have seen a multiplication in their subjects bent on destruction under the mantle of Marx, perhaps the most dangerous intellectual ever to have lived. As a consequence of his doctrine’s implementation across all contexts it was imposed in, Marx became responsible for the deaths of up to 100 million people the world over, according to Stéphane Courtois and other scholars in the authoritative Black Book of Communism: Crimes, Terror, Repression.

In my previous columns, “Wokism and the End of Academic Standards” and “Canada’s Cultural Revolution,” I recalled the path I embarked on to become a writer, envisioning myself securing a tenured position at a Canadian university that would sustain my creative pursuits. The idea of teaching and writing – like W.H. Auden did, like T.S. Eliot did – held immense appeal, though I was also aware of the significance of the journey outward: travelling, accumulating a treasury of experiences that would challenge my worldview, honing the language that compelled my spirit to creation. Prince Edward Island Premier Dennis King has removed one of his MLAs from all legislative standing committees following comments he’d made about female paramedics.

“Not to be sexist or anything like that, is there a stronger recruitment towards males or females?” asked Progressive Conservative Summerside-Wilmot MLA Tyler DesRoches, while questioning the director of operations for Medavie Health Services, Darcy Clinton.

The questioning occurred during a meeting of the health and social development committee. Medavie operates the ambulance service for the province.

“I just notice a lot more females in the profession now and we get a lot of calls for lift assist because — don’t get me wrong, they’re great, some of the women that are doing it are unbelievable — but I went to a lift assist the other day because both the females that were working the bus were 105 pounds and the man was 300 pounds and there was no way they were going to get him up,” said DesRoches.

Over 2,000 people are reported to be dead after a magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck Afghanistan on Saturday.

The densely populated area near Herat was the hardest hit.

The quake was followed by aftershocks measuring magnitude 6.3, 5.9, and 5.5, and some lesser shocks.

Rescue workers and volunteers were digging through the rubble with shovels and their hands trying to pull people from the wreckage on Sunday.

“Entire villages were flattened, bodies were trapped under collapsed houses and locals waited for help without even shovels to dig people out,” the Associated Press reports. “Living and dead, victims were trapped under rubble, their faces grey with dust.”

At least 1,300 homes were also destroyed in the natural disaster.

“Most people were shocked … some couldn’t even talk. But there were others who couldn’t stop crying and shouting,” photographer Omid Haqjoo, who visited four villages Sunday, told The Associated Press.

A Taliban government spokesperson said that if the death toll is confirmed, it would be the deadliest one to strike the country in two decades.

An earthquake in June 2022 killed approximately 1,000 Afghan people.

The AP reports, “People in Herat freed a baby girl from a collapsed building after she was buried up to her neck in debris. A hand cradled the baby’s torso as rescuers eased the child out of the ground. Rescuers said it was the baby’s mother. It was not clear if the mother survived.”

“There’s not much disaster management capacity and what there is can’t cover people on the ground,” said Salma Ben Aissa, the committee’s country director for Afghanistan told the outlet. “The numbers (of dead) are increasing hour by hour.”

On Friday, the genetic testing company 23andMe confirmed that data from a subset of users, targeting those with Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry, has been compromised and listed for sale online.

Wired reports that the company suggests its systems were not breached but that the attackers were able to gather data by guessing the login credentials of a group of users and then using the feature DNA Relatives to scrape additional information to compile the list.

It is reported that the list of 999,999 people who have Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry has been shared on the internet, including the Dark Web.

The database includes first and last names, sex, and 23andMe’s evaluation of where their ancestors came from. Although most of the people targeted are not famous, the database is titled “ashkenazi DNA Data of Celebrities” and appears to have been sorted to only include people with Ashkenazi heritage. Accompanying this call to arms for an execrable terrorist organization was this completely dissonant quotation that someone equated the murder of women and children to “love.”

CUPE cited a quote from writer Ghassan Kanafani, which stated, “Everything in this world can be robbed and stolen, except one thing; this one thing is the love that emanates from a human being towards a solid commitment to a conviction or cause.”

The tweet prompted a torrent of angry posts. We shall let this particular response represent the general level of outrage from those wondering how and why a government union thinks it has any business inserting itself into the conflict on the side of killers.

The amount of online child sexual abuse has skyrocketed in the past few years, according to the latest annual report of the UK-based NGO and watchdog, the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF). As many as 255,588 URLs were confirmed to contain images or videos of the abuse last year, up from 132,676 URLs in 2019.

As Statista's Anna Fleck reports, this rise is partly being linked to the pandemic, when lockdowns meant more people - including younger children - were staying at home and turning online for longer periods of time than before. According to child safety experts, this increased exposure could have left them more vulnerable to communities of criminals looking to find and manipulate children into recording their own sexual abuse on camera.

According to the report, “self-generated” content has become particularly prevalent in this time, with the number of confirmed URLs containing images or videos of “self-generated” material rising from 38,424 confirmed cases in 2019 to 199,363 in 2022. Continue...

The People's Liberation Army, the army of the Chinese Communist Party, recently announced a breakthrough on a key weapons programs that may change the nature of war.

Chinese scientists claim they've had unexpected success in developing a high-powered microwave (HPM) weapon, according to The Diplomat. The magazine notes that in January, Huang Wenhua, deputy director of China's Northwest Institute of Nuclear Technology, was awarded for his research on directed energy, which HPM weapons use.

HPM systems are able to destroy electronic equipment, and in an age when most combat systems—from tanks to planes, radios to satellites—rely on electronics, the weapons could change the way wars are fought. Warships will be fitted with HPM weapons to intercept incoming missiles.

Reinfections cleared faster than initial COVID-19 infections, including among people who never received a COVID-19 vaccine, according to a new study.

People infected with COVID-19 for a second time cleared the illness a mean of 6.6 days, compared with a mean of 9.3 days for the initial infection, U.S. and British researchers reported in the paper.

Researchers drew the findings from 1,796 first infections and 193 second infections.

The difference held for a subset of 71 people who had two well-documented infections.

Among that subset, the mean clearance time was 6.3 days, down from 9.2 days.

"Immunity from a first SARS-CoV-2 infection affects the viral kinetics of a second SARS-CoV-2 infection principally by speeding up viral clearance and thus shortening the overall time of acute infection," the researchers, including Dr. Yonatan Grad of the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, wrote.

SARS-CoV-2 is the virus that causes COVID-19.

The researchers also found that people who cleared infections quickly the first time also cleared them quickly the second time. Continue...

Two companies to get $5 million each to buy the technology needed for developing locally relevant vaccines, the organization says

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has announced that it is committing $40 million in funding to enhance access in parts of Africa to a “low-cost” mRNA vaccine research and manufacturing platform for targeted protection against the various diseases afflicting the continent.

The non-profit organization said on Monday that Quantoom Biosciences, a Belgian biotech company, will receive $20 million to “further advance the technology and lower costs for commercialization.” The Institut Pasteur de Dakar in Senegal and Biovac in South Africa have each been allocated $5 million to purchase the technology, the foundation stated.

“The Gates Foundation will grant another $10 million to other LMIC [low- and middle-income countries] vaccine manufacturers to be named,” it announced.

An mRNA vaccine employs a method that determines what part of a virus the human immune system should target in order to kill a pathogen.

While vaccines made using mRNA is said to have revolutionized the global response to the Covid-19 pandemic, access to care was unequal, prompting efforts to use this technology for combating existing threats that disproportionately affect lower-income nations, like malaria and tuberculosis.

Earlier this year, the World Health Organization (WHO) established a technology transfer hub in Cape Town, South Africa, to facilitate the production of sustainable mRNA vaccines. It also aimed to strengthen regulatory capabilities in order to expedite regional approval and distribution of mRNA vaccines in LMICs. Afrigen Biologics, one of the hub’s partners, is already producing Africa’s first mRNA vaccine for Covid-19 in the lab.

The Gates Foundation, in addition to funding efforts to eradicate diseases such as malaria and polio, according to reports earlier this year, is the second largest donor to the WHO. It poured enormous amounts of money into vaccine development during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Critics have expressed concerns about the foundation holding excessive power in the global health sector, including its alleged influence within the WHO, in the absence of adequate accountability mechanisms. According to critics, Microsoft billionaire Bill Gates has amassed more wealth as a philanthropist than as a software magnate. A 2020 investigation also discovered that the Gates Foundation had made nearly $250 million in tax-deductible “charitable” grants to companies in which it owned stock.

The organization’s latest funding announcement, which it says follows a previous $55 million investment in mRNA manufacturing technology, has been welcomed as a means of advancing life-saving technology development on the continent by the African labs it supports.

Thousands of demonstrators took to Mel Lastman Square in Toronto last night in support of Israel after the country was brutally attacked by Hamas terrorists over the weekend. The confirmed death toll of the attacks is now approaching 1,000.

Politicians including Conservative MP Melissa Lanstman, Mayor Olivia Chow, and Deputy PM Chrystia Freeland spoke at the rally and condemned the brutality of Hamas terrorists.

Despite the massive support for Israel at the gathering, Hamas apologists were present outside of the rally. One said that he doesn't "feel sorry for people who support the Zionists."

There was a large police presence at the rally.

Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow, who recently deleted a controversial tweet after the vicious attacks against Israel, also spoke at the rally.

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre condemned Hamas in no uncertain terms as "sadistic" and "demonic" while speaking about the brutal attacks over the weekend.

Poilievre also condemned the "disgusting" celebrations of the Hamas attacks.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also condemned the attacks, saying, "Hamas terrorists aren’t a resistance, they aren’t freedom fighters.”

The devastating attacks in Israel have left one federal charity unsympathetic to the suffering of non-combatant Israelis by Hamas, a designated terrorist entity.

According to Blacklock’s Reporter, Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East called Israel “sadistic” and “barbaric” after acts of barbarism by Hamas left more than 1,000 dead over the weekend, mostly Jews.

On October 7, Israeli Energy Minister Israel Katz ordered the halting of all power to Gaza after the Palestinian militant group launched a surprise terrorist attack on the country.

"I have signed an order instructing (Israel) Electric Company to stop the electricity supply to Gaza," Katz told reporters.

These are among several security measures imposed by the Israeli government to destroy the capabilities of Hamas "for many years," including cutting fuel and prohibiting the entry of goods into the region.

Within hours of the terrorist attacks, Canadians for Peace accused Israel of “brutal daily violence” and ulterior motives.

“Israel appears to be using this crisis as a pretext to escalate its devastating violence on the people of the occupied and besieged Gaza Strip,” it wrote.

In a news release, they called Israel a “racist military occupation” that promotes “apartheid policies” upon the Palestinians.

Unelected bureaucrats at the United Nations (UN) are calling for the public to start living in huts made from mud and straw in order to meet the globalist agency’s “Net Zero” goals before the year 2050.

The UN has just released a new report that lays out extreme measures citizens in Western nations will need to endure to comply with the corporate elite’s green agenda.

To meet the target of reaching “zero carbon emissions” before 2050, as dictated by the UN and the World Economic Forum (WEF), the public will need to significantly slash their quality of life and begin to align with the globalist vision of collectivism.

The UN insists that traditionally built homes are no longer acceptable and people will need to start living in huts made from building materials consisting of mud bricks, bamboo, and forest “detritus.”

According to the UN, the world needs to switch to “regenerative material practices.”

These practices involve using “ethically produced” low-carbon earth and bio-based building materials.

Examples include mud bricks, timber, bamboo, and agricultural and forest detritus.

The report harks back to the middle of the last century when the vast majority of cultures built large buildings and cities out of indigenous earthen, stone, and bio-based materials, including timber, cane, thatch, and bamboo.
