The SOS did not directly respond to questions regarding actions taken by the SOS to ensure non-citizens do not vote in elections and the coming primary.
Nunnally also stated that the Logically AI reports sent to the SOS were used “to formulate the office’s social media posts and other messaging”rather than to pressure companies like Twitter to shadow-ban the offending outlets.
“Neither Logically AI nor the Office of Secretary of State has used these reports to seek censorship, categorize specific social media users, or request action against any social media user,” he claimed.
Twitter, Facebook and other outlets long denied such censorship practices in the leadup to the 2020 election, although it was later revealed through internal communications exposed by the Twitter Files and elsewhere that the companies were colluding with deep-state intelligence agencies to do just that.
Whether Washington State’s office is doing it or not, the misuse of AI in such a way raises concerns about leftist censorship efforts on a larger scale. The U.S. State Department, for instance, was revealed in a recent lawsuit to be colluding with private activist groups such as the Global Disinformation Index and NewsGuardto establish a de-facto blacklist of mostly conservative outlets who promoted information that they deemed problematic.
When contacted by the Center Square about the SOS program,Aaron Terr, director of public advocacy at the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression, wrote that they were “concerned about how government efforts to combat misinformation can give rise to censorship.”
The actions being taken by the Washington State officials suggested, at best, that they were going down a slippery slope that violated the spirit of the First Amendment.
“Government monitoring of publicly accessible social media posts for alleged misinformation doesn’t in itself violate the First Amendment, even if it gives off a creepy authoritarian vibe,” Terr wrote.
“But First Amendment issues could arise depending on what the government does with that information,” he added. “We’ve seen, for example, how White House officials have unlawfully coerced social media platforms to remove or downgrade content related to controversial topics like COVID-19 and election fraud.”
Terr suggested that additional transparency and accountability on the part of Hobbs’s officeand others attempting to use this technology would help to reassure free-speech watchdogs and members of the public that they were acting in good faith.
If “government officials are only trying to understand prevailing narratives about an issue so they can respond with their own speech, that’s less concerning,” he said.
“But the government should always be fully transparent about its actions and careful not to do or say anything to suggest citizens will face repercussions for constitutionally protected speech, even if officials deem that speech false or misleading,” he added. “The First Amendment doesn’t permit the government to dictate truth and squash dissent.”

The Supreme Court set an unusual opinion release for Monday morning and signaled that a ruling on Trump’s ballot eligibility is imminent.
Per Politico legal reporter Josh Gerstein: SCOTUS sets unusual, short-notice opinion release for Monday morning.Appears to signal that ruling on Trump ballot eligibility is looming.
The Supreme Court is set to issue a ruling on Trump’s ballot eligibility after he challenged a decision by the Colorado Supreme Court to bar him from the 2024 primary ballot.
In December the Colorado Supreme Court disqualified Trump from the 2024 ballot.
All 7 Colorado Supreme Court justices were appointed by Democrats – 3 of the justices dissented to the ruling.
The legal theories are based on Section 3 of the US Constitution’s 14th Amendment which states public officials who have “engaged in insurrection or rebellion against” the US may be disqualified from public office.
Trump has not been charged with engaging in insurrection or rebellion against the United States.
Oral arguments before the Supreme Court on Trump’s ballot eligibility wrapped in early February.
The Supreme Court expressed skepticism as they heard arguments from Colorado lawyer Jason Murray. Even the liberal justices expressed concern.
“Why should a single state have the ability to make this determination not only for their own citizens but for the rest of the nation?”Justice Kagan asked.
Justice Neil Gorsuch, a Trump appointee, smacked around Colorado attorney Murray as he tried to argue absurd hypotheticals.
Gorsuch wasn’t have it and utterly destroyed Murray, who happens to be one of his former clerks.
It was a bloodbath.

It was only yesterday a Biden official claimed Israel had "basically accepted" a 6-week ceasefire proposal.
It was only on Saturday that the White House issued optimistic statements saying Israel has already "basically accepted" a six week ceasefire proposal in Gaza. But the Biden administration's rosy assessment that a truce is 'near' has once again been utterly contradicted by Israeli actions.
CNN now writes, "On Sunday, Israel decided not to send a delegation to Egypt for talks on a deal for a ceasefire and release of hostages from Gaza, an Israeli official told CNN." It was only days ago that Biden issued his remarks saying a ceasefire is likely "by Monday" - but now as of the weekend Israel isn't so much as even participating in the Cairo talks.
CNN's source says the Israeli delegation has stayed home because time had run out for Hamas to respond to the following two Israeli demands:
a list of hostages, specifying which are alive and which are dead
confirmation of the ratio of Palestinian prisoners to be released from Israeli prisons in exchange for hostages
The Netanyahu government said days ago said that this next round of talks would be conditioned on Hamas verifying ahead of time the names and current condition of all hostages.
Israel has said it believes 130 hostages abducted on Oct.7 remain in captivity, but the tragic reality is that some or many may have already been killed.
While Israel has not sent its negotiators, Hamas has arrived in Cairo Sunday, a senior Hamas official told CNN. Per the same report, Hamas wants the following:
A permanent ceasefire
The withdrawal of what the source called “occupation forces” — that is, Israeli troops — from the Gaza Strip
The return of displaced people from the south to the north of the strip
But Prime Minister Netanyahu has repeatedly called the demand for a complete military withdrawal "delusional".

Wilmington based Chemours says the company's CEO, CFO, and Controller, have all been placed on administrative leave.
President and Chief Executive Officer Mark Newman, Senior Vice President Chief Financial Officer Jonathan Lock, and Controller and Principal Accounting Officer Camela Wisel, are on leave pending an internal review being done by the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors with assistance from an outside firm.
In a release, Chemours said the scope of that review "includes the processes for reviewing reports made to the Chemours Ethics Hotline, the Company’s practices for managing working capital, including the related impact on metrics within the Company’s incentive plans, certain non-GAAP metrics included in filings made with the Securities and Exchange Commission or otherwise publicly released, and related disclosures."
The company made the announcement late Wednesday night, February 28, 2024, when it was supposed to issue its fourth quarter and full year 2023 financial results.
Chemours did release un-audited preliminary year end results, however it is delaying the filing of its annual 10-K report. The chemical company announced two weeks ago it needed more time to complete its year-end reporting process, and was evaluating its internal control over financial reporting.
The Board of Directors said Denise Dignam has been named as the Interim Chief Executive Officer and Matt Abbott as the Interim Chief Financial Officer. Chemours stock price (CC) fell over 40% at the opening bell on Wall Street Thursday morning.

"I never wanted to be a politician and I still don’t. I’ve had two successful careers and have started a few small businesses. I’ve also worked for some big corporations. I’m tired of seeing the leaders of our country being influenced by the toxic divisions that are tearing apart our families and society. It’s time for me to step up and do my civic duty. To give back and try and change things for the better. If not me, who? If not now, when?
It’s easy to look at the economy and realize that something has gone horribly wrong. Working people, the middle class, and small businesses have been losing ground over the past 20 years. The goose that lays the golden eggs for our country has been kicked around and squeezed to the point where laying more golden eggs is almost impossible. Consider that since 2000 the cost of food has risen more than double the rise in average household income. The cost of a home has risen 6 times and the amount of government spending 5 and a half times. The S&P 500 has gone up 9 times more than the rise in average household income. To everyone who works and is trying to do the right thing for their family, to everyone who is young and wonders why their lives are worse than their parents: you are not wrong.
And yet, who have we allowed to have the most influence over our government? Big corporate executives and big union bosses. Big tech, big pharma, big media, big whatever – all trying to control big government in Washington DC. This needs to stop. Our government spends money on the wrong things and spends way too much.
One thing the federal government should certainly be responsible for is the security of our borders. Instead, we see millions of people coming in without any accounting for who they are, what they intend to do, or what they’re bringing with them. And they’re being given access to all sorts of handouts at our expense. At a minimum, the federal government and the state governments should be working together to enforce existing laws and secure the border. Seeing our government at war with itself is unacceptable.
For my whole life, in every place I’ve ever lived, I’ve seen people working to provide for their family. Values like self-sacrifice, faith, integrity, fidelity, and valor are simply part of who these people are. They do these things not because the government tells them to, but because they know the right things to do - moral obligations that are freely chosen, not mandated by a government.
It doesn’t take a village to raise a child, it takes a family, and it takes families to make a village.
The sad reality is that many children in our country are suffering. Years of ridiculing and demeaning old fashioned “family values” have taken a toll. Our society’s strength, fundamentally linked to the vitality of the family structure, has been eroded. I want to champion the traditional family as critical for a child’s development and success. The data proves this. However, my approach will be inclusive, recognizing all who step up to provide for their children. I’m not worried about the government being a safety net. I want the government to stop being an impediment.
I’m ready to go to DC and see if I can help bring back sanity and civility to the public discourse on these issues and all the other issues that face our great nation. We need bold leaders for such a time as this."
