First 2 or 3 seasons. She's probably one of the worst victims of flanderization in the later seasons and she's a different character in EQG. Haven't read the comics so I can't speak to them. MLP movie was decent and she got a nice song out of it.

Why do modern shows decline from the very beginning of their existence?
It goes like this:
>Season 1 "I need a lackey like (character related)"
>Season 2 "(character related) is a little shit"
>Season 3 "Oogidy boogidy bad man"
I know discord was introduced sooner though, and I did not watch season 3. Can somebody tell me if that's the format they followed? That they ran out of material so they made up some new threat what doesn't really go nowhere?

MLP suffered from new writers/freelancing. While most status quo-type shows (as in, everything returns back to normal the next episode) have the same issue, they also have to deal with simple burnout, which makes sense given the genre of show they're writing. I'd argue MLP got the worst case of freelancing, because MLP isn't really a status quo show, or is only partly. And since they lost Lauren, well.
Anyway, supposedly Gen 5 will have a permanent writing staff, but there are already major problems with the new gen that make me wary about the new show (some of which appears to be a mishandling of corporate orders), though I have a feeling what "bronies" there are left will enjoy it.
Daily reminder it was once /b/ronies.
