I think Granny Smith would be an aggressive chain smoker, often lashing out against her grand kids when she didn't get her pack each day. The townsfolk would always ask, "How in Celestia's name is that mare still fucking alive?".
This is the closest thing I have that is to smoking.

Some headcanon about smoking: We've always seen bubbles coming from ponies pipes, so presumably that's how Equestrian pipes are supposed to work. Derpy has bubbles for her cutiemark, so presumably Derpy is so derped all the time because she's always stoned.

Wrong. Underneath your under your temples is the frontal lobe, and you can easily survive if that gets damaged. The reason why so many people survive when shooting themselves from the mouth is actually because they aim too high and hit the frontal lobe. The same problem exists when shooting the temple. The best way to do it is to stick the gun under your chin and aim for the brain stem.
