The pervasive boomer attitude of WN1.0 and involvement of April Gaede led to the inability to answer the “woman question.” Bringing up the nature of modern women is met with an instant permaban (a pretty strong step for such a minor offense). There’s also no board for discussing video games. As such, the forum couldn’t attract any young people, so it stagnated and died.
Young men fled to 4Chan and alt news and commentary sources sprung up that absolutely dwarfed the traffic of SF. Generally when this happens, the operators of a website take a step back, re-evaluate, and figure out how they can attract more people. Being Boomers, Stormfront was incapable of doing this.
