/pol/. Are veterans warranted veneration in society whilst no major war is happening? I often see it the most from America, but it seems to be seeping out. Veterans almost demanding respect or recognition and to not give it is seen as reprehensible. It feels obnoxious personally and I find it kind of pathetic. It all just seems sort of childish, boyish things you grow out of sticking into manhood. But is it all in my head /pol/? Am I wrong to feel a sense of silent disgust towards veterans that are very loud about their "service"? Is it no more noble to raise a well mannered family than to serve a period of time in the military? Most don't even fight even when there is a war on, but especially not now.
For burgers, do your countrymen and women really believe the US military is defending freedom? Maybe YouTube comments in particular have made the wrong impression, often you can find a veteran throwing a pity party in the comment section.
