One of the more enlightening posts I ever saw on the Internet, was somebody's plea for people to invent a new emotion. It's a mind-expanding proposition because emotions are more or less biologically-driven or enculturated in the very early years. How would you go about inventing a new emotion? Is it even possible within the framework of a pre-existing culture? Or would you have to create a new one from the ground up, even including the language and basic gestures. Is this possible? Other simians understand human gestures naturally.
