• Reduces anxiety and stress

• Boosts mood (via dopamine, serotonin, GABA)

• Calms racing thoughts

Cognitive:

• Improves focus and attention

• Enhances mental clarity

• Supports alpha brain waves (meditative state)

• Eases mental fatigue

Sleep:

• Helps you fall asleep easier

• Improves sleep quality

Physical/Neurological:

• Neuroprotective

• Lowers stress-related blood pressure

• Balances out stimulants like caffeine

Why 400mg?

• Stronger, longer-lasting calm

• Ideal for high-strung or anxious types

• Enhanced synergy with caffeine

>Boosts mood (via dopamine, serotonin, GABA)

That's not necessarily a good thing.

Remember, all the shooters and people on reddit who are insane are on SSRI's which boost serotonin. High serotonin is bad, It can make you go insane. What "scientists" still fail to realize is that those chemical compounds don't work in isolation. If you jack up one thing in the system you will disrupt the balance and we still don't really know how the body works.

I don't know what about L-theanine other than I once heard that if you take high doses it can give you tsunami ejaculations. With that said SSRI's don't technically "boost" serotonin, they prevent your brain from reuptaking the serotonin that it's already making that hangs around in your synapse during neurotransmission, increasing the likelihood that the molecule jumps the gap. The problem with this, neurologically speaking, is that your brain can be sitting on a trove of unused serotonin in your synaptic gaps, which causes all sorts of weird behaviors both physiologically and psychologically. Any "natural" substance that helps your body produce more serotonin (most of which is made in the gut by the way) isn't inherently as harmful as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors as your body will naturally modulate its synthesis given it's current state.

There's a thing called "serotonin syndrome" it's pretty severe. I really think there is a correlation between the people who are on SSRI's and the rise of mental illness.

>Any "natural" substance that helps your body produce more serotonin (most of which is made in the gut by the way) isn't inherently as harmful as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors as your body will naturally modulate its synthesis given it's current state.

Well the problem is a lot of supplements and vitamins are synthetic, I know synthetic vitamin B's might be harmful to the gut. I'm not really versed in the subject to really argue about it but one has to cautious with these things.

From personal experience the supplements that gave me giga loads are

Zinc

Vit D3

L-Arginine

Selenium

And the biggest one is Boron.

I used to do periods of "no fap" while taking Boron and then just release a nuclear mega load on an unsuspecting girl that happened to blow me kek. I've had girls that get really really mad.

Zinc + Vit3

I started taking those at the start of the pandemic and definitely saw a difference.

If you want to go the really natural way, organ meats have a good amount of those vitamins, just know that you shouldn't really overcook them because you loose some of the in the process.

With Boron, L-Arginine and Selenium you can literally double your load. Especially if you exercise.

Ivermectin does actually work which is why the pharmajews are scared of it and why they've demonized it in the media (which they own), & restricted its sales. You can't buy it without a prescription anymore, hence the horsepaste fiasco.

They haven't done so to L-Theanine. You can buy it at any snake-oil shop. Right alongside the chakra healing crystals and activated almonds.

It's glutamate (occurs naturally in slow cooked meats and jerky) figured it out when I tried microdosing on mushrooms. Even 0.10 G would send me into a panic (mind fine, body is in flight or fight mode). I found out high glutamate in the hippocampus causes bad trips, looked for something that would pull the glutamate from my brain. I was able to eat beef jerky and coffee that same day and do a microdose. Now I can even do aya and find it relaxing.

Wtf is activated almonds lol

Look, I'm not a supplement junkie, most of these things can be replaced with organ meats, that's what I have done in the past year. I still have some Boron, Selenium and L-arganine to occasionally scare the hoes with a big load. Those definitely work in that regard.

I just hate that all these supplements are manufactured or at least sourced in china and are filled with shit fillers like magnesium stearate and cellulose.

Organ meats are much cheaper with higher quantities of vitamins and minerals that are the most bioavailable.

Lately I've been buying whole beef hearts, as with every other organ meat it's great with onions and garlic sauteed. That probably the most pricey because you pay for the whole thing on a fixed price.

Chicken hearts are dirt cheap and have so many good nutrients. I buy them for 3-4$ for a 2.2 pounds. Same with livers. Beef liver is a bit more "expensive" but not that much. I get it for 7-8$ for 2,2 pounds.

Yeah kratom can be a neat "supplement" if used in moderation, like a lot of other psychoactives, but the powder varies wildly in quality, and the extracts/shots are strong enough to create an expensive addiction, although powder addiction for most seems to me mild. If you can use it as an "energy supplement" or sort of an adhd/autism med sparingly or in moderation it's mostly fine. But like most substances, many cannot do that, so it's best to stay away, especially from the extracts/shots.

yeah, food from natural sources is always best, but it's hard to find proper organic, grass fed met around here. Even when that does exist, the quality of the meat depends on how depleted the feed/soil is for the animals.

I wish we didn't need sups, our food should be our medicine. quality meat should be 80% of your diet, some hand picked choice veg to round out extra nutrinets, and that's it.

having said that, therapeutic doses of various compounds would always have to be from a sup of some sort, the point being that if you stay healthy you shouldn't need it.

There's a difference between supplements and pharmaceuticals. Supplements are unlikely to seriously modify natural functions of the body when taken at appropriate doses.

Example:

Things like arginine and citrulline help your body to produce more nitric oxide which thus increases blood flow. They don't directly increase nitric oxide nor do they directly dilate your blood vessels. Pharmaceutical act more directly and cause more 'forced' changes to your body so to speak, instead of provided supplemental compounds to aid your body in its natural functions.

SSRI's work on select serotonin systems and prevent the reuptake of serotonin, which basically result in an imbalance that causes your brain to swim in serotonin. Your body naturally reabsorbs unneeded neurotransmitters and repurposes them or metabolizes/excretes them, SSRI's prevent the body from performing this natural function under the unproven theory that it treats depression. This is based on what amounts to a selection of surveys based on what those who took them claimed they did, and as far as I know have no real longitudinal studies nor studies about whether it is safe for those with developing brains to take them. They do not even know exactly how they work biologically/neurochemically, if it is actually addressing a specific issue, the long term effects or why it produces contradictory and severe side effects; it is all theoretical and they have admitted as much.

There is, in fact a lot of damage has been done giving these drugs to children with developing brains, the same goes for 'ADHD' drugs.

>Well the problem is a lot of supplements and vitamins are synthetic

The problem isn't whether it's synthesized, its what form/analogue is being produced and consumed. Plenty of synthesized supplements are perfectly fine, some are a waste of money (Magnesium oxide vs. Chelated Magnesium), and a precious few are probably dangerous (can't think of any right now).

Well, my pilipino pill shill, you've reminded and convinced me to get some of this. Just ordered a 1000g tub off amazon for $15. I really enjoy the buzz of Guayusa, which is the highest caffeine containing herb in the world, coupled with the power of l-theanine. Used to have a hippie forager type buddy that would acquire it from south america and sell me ounces at a time. Really great. more antioxidants than green tea, more caffeine than coffee, and a mild and earthy flavor good on its own or great with a bit of honey.

I usually limit myself to an espresso in the morning and a cuppa early afternoon, and I'd like to experiment supplementing this to curb some of the anxious sides I get when I take coffee.

>ZMA, 5-HTP, and krill Oil

I'll have to research ZMA. If you like 5-htp, you may want to try L tryptophan. L tryptophan is a precursor to 5-htp, it's further up the conversion chain so it is slower release, longer lasting, and more gentle. I don't know if I can pin it 100% on the 5-htp, but I have noticed when I take it before bed, I wake up much more sharp and abrupt than I would like to, with my mind already racing about the day. Which could have it's benefits for some but I like to wake up gently and smoothly. I think it has to do with the balance of melatonin and serotonin and the way the 5-htp conversion happens in the body. But by adding another step for the body to convert from the tryptophan it adds more time to the process and your body decides the amount you need naturally.

>so you've now become utterly dependent on nac when you weren't before

it's bigger than that. I have a chronic health problem that is putting me into early onset alzheimers. My world revolves around being stuck on supplements until I correct this, which I slowly am.

on the other hand, no, I'm not addicted to nac. It actually helped me kick a number of addictions - other anons report this effect too. After 6 mo to a year, it basically got rid of my cravings for alcohol, which is a whole other story I can tell you about internal damage that makes you crave alcohol.

I can stop it at any time, and I do cycle off it. I just stop receiving benefits… and I'm not enough of a pussy to not be able to deal with the loss of them. I drink too much coffee anyway so if I kicked NAC, then coffee would go too. I only do this short term to get on top of my life because when I'm having bad days thanks to alzheimer's, shit piles up that I need to deal with.

Look into L-DOPA and mucuna pruriens (a source of L-DOPA) which I believe helps alzheimers the issue is L-DOPA doesn't cross the blood brain barrier iirc and you need to take something to aid that, it was either the catechins in green tea extract or it was the enzymes/inhibitors in ginger I can't remember. Worth looking into though and at least gives you a place to start. Used to be cheap and easy to find/get. Afobazole (forget how its spelled) is a vitamin b6 derivative that is a neurogenerative and supposedly helps heal damage from alcohol. Its a Russian pharmaceutical but available otc in the US. Its only used for one or a couple 20 day courses, not permanently.

Almost forgot, there is another compound in the L-DOPA medication called something like levotin or dopa-something. Its been years so I don't precisely remember, anyway it serves a function either with absorption or regulation of the L-DOPA taken orally. Just wanted to add that.

>L-DOPA

I appreciate the effort. yeah, I'm aware of it, but that's not my issue. I have chronic ROS (oxidative stress) primarily from too much bodily stores of iron (i'm slightly afflicted by hemochromatosis, extremely common white man disease when subjected to an agricultural diet), coupled with some mercury poisoning. Add in the stress of living with 'industrial disease' and I'm chronically under enough inflammation that it's starting to cook my brain as well as my body.

The brain produces a peroxide like substance to kill what it thinks is an infection, but it's the iron triggering it, so energy is spent trying to bleach out the iron, which will never work. That creates the amyloid plaques that fuck up my neural net, and the overall lack of ATP energy in my body means there's not enough to go around for repair as well as daily operation, so I'm aging faster than I should.

thankfully, I also get short breaks where everything lines up for a few weeks, I feel great, and I remember that this is not normal aging.

interesting enough, muscle stiffness and mega cramps is another symptom. My body makes fiberblasts to bind muscle tissue after normal exertion/use, but there isn't enough energy around to tear them down after their need is done, so Im constantly getting tighter and tighter muscles unless I go to massage/chiro/accupuncture to force the breakdown.

I'm getting the iron out through regular blood donations, and I stopped with the bullshit agricultural diet years ago, which feeds too much iron and also gives you other issues in the way of being carb heavy.

it's been a 10 year journey of figuring this out as the medical system here in Canada is pure garbage, they diagnose (which took two years of bullshit), and then proud of their diagnosis, tell me there is nothing that can be done, and let me go die a slow death. I'm waiting for them to send me a MAID suicide order.

I will fix it, and I will make my continued existence everyone's problem.

i'm open to all ideas on recovering from this, even though I'm sure I've heard/tried of 80% of them already.
