Before Easter, the passenger flow at the Ukrainian border increased significantly. Over the past 24 hours, almost 110 thousand people crossed it – 70 thousand on entry and 49 thousand on exit, the State Border Service reported on Saturday, April 19.
"The western borders in both directions were crossed by 92 thousand travelers, which is comparable to the average of the previous four days of the week, the increase was almost 20%. While the southern borders of Ukraine with Moldova (within the Odessa and Vinnytsia regions) and with Romania (within the Odessa region) were crossed by more than 17 thousand people, which is several percent more than usual," the report says.
To speed up border crossing, additional border patrols are working, the number of shifts at checkpoints has been increased, and additional places for document checking have been set up.
The highest passenger flow is recorded at the Shehyni checkpoints (repairs are possible here due to repairs - ed.), Krakovets and Rava-Ruska.
Less load is observed in the villages of Nizhankovychi, Smilnytsia, Grushev and Ugryniv.
Border guards remind that an increase in passenger traffic is predicted even after the Easter holidays. Therefore, they advise choosing the least crowded checkpoints.
