Since today 4chan /pol/ requires an email adress or a 10 min waiting time to post a thread. Why did jannies do it in the first place? Their response was to avoid spam but I think they are scared about the truth coming out.
Self improvement threads on there get deleted yet slide threads get bumped to oblivion. I don't know what is happening anymore.
I was an avid 4chan /pol/ user since 2014 but it comes to an end now.

In my experience this happens to a " new " IP trying to use 4chan /pol/, it could happen to you after a ban. To me it happened after a ban but only once. I waited the time, and finally posted and after that I didn't get a timer.
The captchas also at this time were very complex and grueling. But as you continue to post the captchas become more simplified. Eventually you'll have one that's clear to read but it's long. Then that too shortens. To a few digits. So if you go back over there and try, the hassle at first is freaking annoying. But as you continue to post the hassles become less and less.
I'm not sure about making threads I didn't run into that problem.

You're right it's all that. If you change your IP you're around the ban but as I said, there is a 15 min wait on the first post you make. After that it's gone. But the captchas are really wild.
And then they grow milder but very annoying.
And then plain but long. And then shortened.
But that's how it works after a ban or when you log on with a new IP.
Yes delete the 4chan cookies.
But that doesn't help the fact there is a 15 min wait for first post and then unusually annoying captchas for awhile until that settles down.
I post a lot and it took 2 days for the captchas to become more simple.

The captcha and email wait was because of reddit spam (Operation JD Vance meme type of retardation) and bots. But every time it happened I immediately noticed it and I did report some of it. Bad monitoring by the janitors, who spend all day in IRC and Discord, didn't clean it up. You don't need anything if people actually monitor the site.

1) Fucking wrong, I've been on 4chan multiple times through their dogshit captcha b4 the site got taken down and always got that captcha over and over. Stopped posting bc of it.

Actually that happened to me randomly once or twice too. But a lot of times my IP changed but I didn't get the timer because I hadn't cleared my cookies.

the "hack" was a glowop to wrap things up with a nice cover story after their funding was cut. The US government used 4chan as a containment board for all domestic dissident thinkers where they could be studied, controlled and easily identified and neutralised if needed. The jannies and mods weren't even aware of what was going on (compartmentalisation). Rapeape took instructions from higher up and basically made sure that 4chan was run like a regular, organic image board.
External operators were then instructed to dilute discussion on the boards; but various competing factions, both domestic, international, governmental, intelligence, businesses, advertisement, etc were competing for the minds of the its userbase. The net result was just absolute chaos which the US government gladly accepted. The amount of psychological harm caused by this cannot be understated. Not just in the US alone but around the world because all nationalities used the site.
The single most important reason wasn't necessarily for the US government to influence the mind of its users because that would too obvious and difficult, but to 1) avoid a foreign government to capture the hivemind and 2) to avoid things like Occupy Wallstreet from ever happening again.
Of course, there will never be any official records that tie 4chan to the government. But 4chan going down for the first time in 20 years exactly 1 fiscal quarter after the abolishing of USAID? That's a kind of coincidence one can't ignore.
