Nice composition overall. How's the Canon working out for you?

Either or. I'm on a different system but I'm always up for impressions on hardware I don't have.

My primary reasons for liking Canon are first and foremost ergonomics and secondly the beauty that is the ⌀54mm EF mount. Sony's cameras also feel good in my hand but back when I was getting started and made my first real investments into a system they were lagging far behind in terms of sensor performance and their lens lineup was very limited compared to Canon's — then again everyone but Nikon were looking kinda shit in that comparison, at least in those days.
So why not Nikon?
Because they felt like shit whenever I went to fingerfuck one in a camera store. They just weren't comfortable to hold.
I have since also developed an intense hatred for Nikon and will readily admit I look down on fools who buy into their system. This is after using their cameras and lenses to shoot >5000 exposures a day in the studio where I was later made manager of photography. Not one of their bodies or lenses managed to survive for longer than two weeks before the rubber grip pads or zoom rings would warp and start to come loose. I have no idea what manner of shit materials they select but it boggles the fucking mind that not even their flagship 24-70/2.8 could survive more than a couple weeks of hard use. Then there's the faggotry with SD cards.
Nikon manufacture strictly consumer gear, I would never bring anything they make into a professional setting if I have any say in purchasing decisions.
As for the 5dmkII it's excellent and I love it. Some times I wish the autofocus was faster and had a greater range of focus points to select from and trying to push >1/500 shutter speeds under indoor lighting with nothing faster than a f/2.8 will really push the limits of acceptable noise but sports photography is not why I bought it and for its primary purpose of fashion/portraiture it's been a very dependable workhorse. The video recording capabilities are also very nice but requires a card with high write speeds.
The 70-200/2.8II is simply best in class. I think Sigma's new 70-200 is the only thing able to challenge it and unless you're looking at stepping up to medium format those are the only options to consider — if you're doing pro work. The image stabilization isn't something I thought I'd use more than once or twice on a lark but it's a godsend whenever you shoot handheld.
The big bro of my lens collection though is the 85/1.2
Can't beat dat borkeh

Found an old picture that shows clearly the problems with working with Nikon gear. This is one of their consumer lenses but their "professional" lineup uses the same rubber.

what are you doing with those lenses to burn the rubber out on the kit lens focusing ring within 2 weeks?

Mass market glamour/portrait photography very aggressively promoted towards average chads and sheilas. On busy days we'd have 200+ customers, spread that out over 3 photographers and add the requirement that each individual should have at least 75 shots taken of them and what you get is a lot of fucking exposures.
On hectic days if it was just me and another photographer working at the studio I could see my file names reset twice.

Constant palm pressure/sweat just does that to cheap rubber I guess
