If you plan to disappear from the modern world, how would you deal with fish and game and other law enforcement? Would you give them your last modern place of residence and burn the citation? What if they actually look it up and see that someone else lives there?

Why wouldn't you just tell cops you're a hobo? Anyway, if you really need to get mail or something I think homeless shelters let you do that, and come by every few weeks to check the mail. You could also pay someone to receive your mail for you.

So what? Plenty of people rent a room in someone's house with no paperwork.

depending on where you are, the cops can be either really cool or huge dicks to you for being a hobo.

up in spokane, WA some of us had a camp setup along the spokane river, right near one of the bridges. they let it stay up during the winter, but when summer came they did the standard eviction process.

the biggest thing is to not trash your living area, and by extension don't share a camp with anyone who you don't know well or don't trust to actually help keep it clean. if you keep a clean camp, you're already putting yourself a notch above 80% of the hobos out there, and there are atleast some cops who will recognize this and not give you shit for being camped in a spot that's technically illegal.

other than that, don't shoplift for unimportant or trivial shit. it's better to spend a few days flying a sign and save up than it is to risk getting caught.
