 No.1303

So is this the proper board to bring up a discussion on hunting? I'm working on passing my bowhunter's education before eventually taking to the field to claim a few furbearing pests (such as coyotes as they're absolutely everywhere).

I recently obtained a few tools for working with animal hide and leather, hoping to eventually not only skin my kills but create a few nice pieces of clothing to honor them.

Plus, I'm doing some research on good jerky techniques.

But one thing that's been eating at the back of my mind for a few is performing a proper coup de grace on a dying animal. I want to make sure it passes into the next world as easy as possible. What type of knives work best for this? should I even go in for the finish or stay back and finish from afar?
