What did you space this like an asshole? Also if you can't see whats so bad about the world they live in you didn't read it. All the main characters suffer for different reasons. One of them saw what the world really was and knew it was all bullshit. his date had a mental break down just from watching water crash onto the beach. The other thought "oh brave new world" and couldn't wait to see it, well we both know how that worked out for him

The entire point of this book is that it challenges this very goal.

The utopian projects of the modernist experiment have all been criticized because 'they don't work/are impossible'.

Here Huxley shows it to you, and it's shown for what it really is.

I think in BNW people are engineered to be happy with their situation, it is only the few errors in the system that rebel (the protag, who turned out ugly even if being of higher caste, the other guy, who is so perfect that got uninterested in sex and soma, thus bored with society, and the Savage, who grew up with religious shame of pleasure).

The thing is, in real life, we are all errors in the system. We all have our little particularities and neurosis, we would never become that homogenous society if a BNW-like system was imposed on us. It doesn't matter what kind of social engeneering "our chinese overlords" come up with, without pre-manufecturing peoples very core, to a biological level, their perfect society would never work. I mean, people could conform, as they do in totalitarian regimes in the real world, but only to a superficial degree. It wouldn't be the perfect society described in the book.
