Was I being rude to the team?
Will that brief incident ruin my reputation in the team?

It looks like the only rude one was the person saying "ask the normies".

'Normie' is almost always used as an insult, so yes. It's also a word that most people outside of imageboards are either unaware of or only know in the context of 'reee normies' pepeposting, so I don't know why you'd use it around regular folks. Moreover, referring to another person as 'the X' (in this case, 'the normie') instead of using their real name is disrespectful, unless it's a joke or a nickname they're okay with, since you're implying that you don't consider their name worth learning or using.
You should probably apologize if someone brings it up.

It seems playful enough. It probably looks like self-depreciative humor if they really are normalfriends.
