On a scale of 0 to 10, how fluent would you say your Japanese is?

I haven't sat down and studied it for a year now, so I've gotten a bit rusty. Looking at JLPT N5 guides, I'd say I was getting really close to passing something like that, so I feel like I was approaching a ≈2.5. But now, I feel like I'm at ≈1.5.

I was learning so much more when I studied vocab on a daily basis, but I kinda overloaded my anki deck, and I eventually didn't have enough time to go thru everything.

Do/did you have a daily routine for studying Japanese?

Have you studied any other Asian languages? I'm kind of also interested in studying Korean.

Not sure if it's just me, but I've kind of have a bit of a fetish/obsession for East Asia in General

Maybe 1/10, can read hiiragana/katakana and the extremely common kanji. Ultimately though I became too busy with life to put the effort into learning the language for something that has limited use for me.

I don't think I register on the scale. I just know the Hiragana and Katakana so far, even then I'm a bit rusty so I'll need a refresher before I resume my studies. I don't have a daily routine just yet, still in the process of creating a work plan.

Probably 2. (Maybe 3?) I can read hiragana/katakana along with a couple kanji and understand the basic grammar along with some words/phrases, but that's about it because I haven't used it much since high school.

I know a very random Japanese words. I word i know things are Konichiwa (こにちわ), Arigatou (ありがとう).

There is also Japanese words for animals, which includes Neko (猫), Inu (犬), and Usagi (兎).

How long have you been studying?

Have you lived in Japan for a bit?

Do you have any recommendations on how to study?

I'm planning on memorizing core 6k/2k on my phone with Anki. I've taken 2 Japanese classes at University, and they were really fun and it really sped up my grammar + important vocab - although not very related to my degree.

I know I had a deck on my old phone, but I can't remember which one I had. I know I spent several months studying vocab.

I'm not sure if I should make my own cards, as that might be more costly in time, but it might keep me more motivated.

I was under the impression Mishima is quite hard to read, mostly because of the archaic language?
