Good luck; I believe the ending your looking for ends up being the "true ending," so it's actually quite hard to get. It requires splitting your affection between the 3 of them and 4 required choices to get it; a guide would be recommended if you don't want to have to replay the game over and over again. It's also really fucked up and kind of kills the mood.

The game basically calls you a fag right off the bat, and one of the characters is quite lewd throughout the story, so unless you have at least some inkling towards male/male content I would think it would end up getting in the way more often than not.

There is a non-lewd version that may be a little less forward, but I haven't played it, so it could simply not have any of the r18 cgs in it.

Kind of but you might be put off by it so if you're not interested at all in gay shit then don't bother. As was mentioned, one character aggressively hits on you throughout the entire game, there's kind of an interesting subversion as to why he's doing it, but probably not worth the payoff if you're not into that.

Mixed feelings on this game from what's been revealed on the site. On one hand, Miriya, the redhead human, is evidently far and away the Main Girl, and appears in the majority of promotional art. With the yellow chainsaw girl, who's second most important, they did that thing where they took a human design and added ears to try to pass it off as anthro.

On the other, that might be for the best, considering the artist they got for the game appears not to be able to draw anthro at all, and gave the other anthro characters those weird snouts that look like fingers. And they DO get H-scenes. and plenty of them.

Game Design Major here, but narrative is not my field.

In general, I would like to see what sort of /kemono/ made be like.

But the question is, what kind of game do you want to make? Visual novel, Action game, Rpg game? Will be erotic?

In any case, if you want to make a game, you need to know what are you aiming for and scope down properly.

In any case, if you want to make a game, if you have no experience making game of any kind, I'd recommend you start with a very small game that last around 15 - 30 minute. Trust me, it require some couple of month to make that last this long if you are not working full time and doing it alone.

/v/ from 4chan once banded together to make katawa shoujo, and it's took them 5 year to finish at least. From what I read, given the nature of anonymous originated team, it was a nightmare to make due to conflicting design choice.

That said, you can make the game easier if you use engine, but you will have to dedicate a month at least to practice it.

TRDR; I didn't came here to disencourage you, I am just here to advice you to take one step at a time. I have seen many dev aiming too high, only to have their project crash and burn. Try to set some scope and get finish product first, and it will greatly improve the next work you make as you gain experience.

Personally, I'd like to see straight content, that last just 1-2 hours is enough, like raijin/raizinndx's slave girl visual novel. That said, if I had enough time and animation skill I'd make a war/breeding game where you capture your target and force them to breed your army to conquer more land.

Those thing decide how much you will pay them and how stable would the relationship be.

Well, my recommendation is to find some community, like legend of krystal forum, and announce a project you want to work on. There should also be an artist who are looking for someone to work with as well and need someone to guide them to gain experience. I don't have much experience with this, but I believe that if you want a stable output, I recommend starting with a small project that can be completed in a short time, and build stable trust with the artist first, before moving on to the bigger one. At least, it will let you and they know your habit and adjust to each other.

That said, based on what I see from japanese developer, if not in fact most developer, most of the game project are actually team consisting friends who already know each other and know what they can do, and once one them start working on a project, the other decided to chime in as well. although, most of them can work on their own in the first place.

Katawa shoujo, on the otherhand, seem to be something that are headed by a single person, and turn into a group project by miracle. May be you might want to make some open project where we can participate on, for fun that is.

So for the past three years I've been teaching myself 3d modelling and game development to make a kemono game - sort of like an online roleplaying school simulator with Kemono characters - think of it like a combination of Bully and Second Life. I've got previous game programming experience so I'm fairly confident I can pull this off, but it'll probably take years to finalize and create a community… I don't really mind this.

You create your own character based on four different races (only female cat race for now), and appear in a school campus where you can explore and interact with other people within the world. It's more of a social hangout/user-generated content game rather than an objective-driven game, although there exists a story and loose objectives.

two things, and I am pretty sure that it's gonna come off as harsh, but I am saying this because I want to you improve.

That said, if the advice feel impractical, feel free to disregard it.

1) the art style need works. It doesn't feel Kemono enough, and seem to feels too "Western art style" instead. I feel that it's because the character's are too human like, and have closer to realistic proportion. The eye are also too small. For appearance that are closer to Kemono-style, I recommend finding the Japanese artist's style that is closest to your preference, and try to emulate it, it will be a good art style starting point.

You might either want to make a 3D model based on the artist's character to emulate the art style, and if you have to draw it, you can trace it, but in the latter case, avoid posting it in social media if you can, otherwise, make it clear that you trace it from them for sake of practice. That said, you should ask them for permission to trace for practice first if you are going to post it online on site like twitter, as some artist are very sensitive to their art being edit or trace and disappear if they learn that they were traced without permission.

You might also want to reduce the amount of polygon used, and use more simplistic shape to make it cuter and easier to manage.

As for reference, you might want to check out mokuri, Kishibe, and Rikose for example.

However, do note that all of those model are rather detailed, not low poly. I'd rather have you focus on feels that you get from them first, before you try to borrow their details.

it's not kemono, but it feels really close to it while being low poly.

That said, the artstyle works, but just not for a kemono game, it just feels too western.

2). I recommend changing the game to something else, it's fine as a project name, but as a game name, it run the risk of having giving user cognitive dissonances if you fails to capture the feels of the Kemono-art style. It'd be akin to having a game name mangaverse or animeverse, which can feel forced and faked, and can come off as a try-hard, and doesn't feel manga-like. Imagine seeing how to draw manga book, but you can clearly figure that it's made by american's.

I recommend that you check-out manga's name as example to get the feel of them and use them as reference. Say, beastar, beast complex, my hero academia, Dr Stone, Midori no hibi, Ai Colle, Kantai Collection, etc, and it'd feel more on the point.

You can also reference the name of Asian Mmorpg like C21, Ragnarok, tree of savior, etc. Investigate why they have those name, and you will understand how to it will make it feel much more organic and natural.

For me, I'd call this game Beast's Academy, A beast universe, Beast daily, as Kemono can also be translated as beast in English, and Academy, universe, daily is where the game take place in, and kept the game on the point for what the game intended.

This is more of a fail safe than anything, but it also have played psychological factor in the development of the game, as more often than not, I have seen people naming series or game with anime/manga in it and ended up focusing too much on being anime/manga-like, it forgot to develop it's own identity, make it appear closer to be a parody or rip-off of them instead.

That's my feedback for this project. I hope it helps.

Thanks for feedback. While i disagree with you (I don't think Kemono style has to look only like the popular artists, as I use Comet/Mo-Hiro as inspiration) the style is always open for improvement. As a consequence, I don't really mind giving off a western/eastern blend of the style as I'm not intending for it to be pure japanese style, it's more of my personal take on the whole genre. But yeah, maybe eyes should be bigger.

There's a new character named Origin who looks identical to Lunette, the purple kemo girl in the first game. I dunno what the plot of Nighthawk was like or what happened to the characters, but Lunette also returns in Sixdouze, looking like this
