So far from what i've seen.

Slav, French, and Italian MREs always seem to be the top tier ones.

Nip ones are great too, if you love rice on top of rice. :^)

Most others are pretty good to alright.

US MREs are pretty shit since it's preservatives shaped into food with bits of "food" added. Something you'd only eat if you really had nothing else. Had a little experiment for myself to use whatever I had in my kitchen to make MREs taste good. The best I could get them to is "it's alright".

Chink MREs are weapons you drop on a starving enemy to weaken their morale further.

>the best single portion meals were spaghetti a la bolognese (cost is about 1.2 dollars for 300gr dish), goulash (2 bucks, slightly less food, but tastes absolutely amazing) and beans a la breton (1.3 dollars, incredible flavor).

>some of them were bland as shit, none were bad, however

>also ate hueg 850g cans of soups and entrees

Judging from what I ate, good MRE dish is made by:

o Kielbasa

o Beans

o Sauerkraut

o Tomato sauce

o Big chunks of meat, no mechanically separated meat (pink goo)

o No dark meat chicken (doesn't taste good)

o Soupy consistence, so you can add rice / buckwheat / panzerwaffles for more calories and taste

o Panzerwaffles in general, especially SU-2 (bought 13.5 kilos of them for about eighty bucks with delivery)

o Something bearable to wash it down with (I used kisiel, coffee, tea, anything instant would work, just make sure it's not Nescafe / Lipton / other normie shit)

o Candy bars. Specifically, cereal bars, nut bars, fruit bars, jelly bars. Something sweet and chewy, bonus points for fibrosity

Well, it has to have an active man's either partial or daily value of protein, carbs, vitamins, minerals, fats, salts, electrolytes, last several years, be satisfying yet not too filling, able to be prepared with little to no equipment/intelligence, and perhaps most importantly, it has to taste good. From what I've experienced. Rich (Western) countries with small militaries make the best rations as they are more likely to have the wherewithal to make life a bit less miserable for the soldiers

One thing I've always kind of wondered is why militaries dont make more use of organ meats. They are loaded with nutrients and can be made to taste very good

Slavs adopted bits of jewish cuisine centuries ago. Stuff like bagels, braided bread, bread and cakes with poppy seeds, sweet bread with molasses and raisins, sesame seed candies, lots of sweets in general. In Poland and Ukraine at least half of traditional Christmas dishes are of jewish origins, like cabbage rolls and carp. And halva being originally made of sesame seeds was probably invented by mudshits and entered south/east Europe during mudshit invasion or was picked up by Russians when they expanded into Caucasus and durkastans.

Halva is omnipresent, and likely is a sandnigger dish, not kike.

Steve tries to avoid drama and be maximum neutral, and so far he had been not a single negative comment on NSDAP "ration", just pure excitement

If you are autistic, you can be friends with girls. Specifically, you may be around them, having little to no options of avoiding them, and they develop interest in you, so you try to be nice about it because you may not want to see a girl you have dismissed recently for the next couple of time Yes, a chance they may have fugged or tried some relationship, but frankly no one is born a natsoc, especially in millennial US.

https://www.rfa.org/english/news/korea/lightens-01142015154111.html/

It doesn't seem North Korea even HAS a portable field ration; you might get some rice/potatoes/cabbage from the mess and that's it. Norks are expected to forage for themselves. They might have a stockpile of canned food from China they can issue in the event of a war, but Norks are going to be starving in no time once an actual war breaks out.

You could probably get the entire army to surrender by air dropping McDonald's on them, then moving in while they're all in a food coma.

To find out whether those are lies or not we need to simply look at the similar countries with legit info. I know for sure soviet army food was so bad it originated a few memes like "polar bear's meat" (pieces of lard instead of the actual meat) and "bromine for erectile disfunction" (soldiers were so protein malnutritioned they believed in a myth about special bromine drugs making their penises faint). North Korea has way higher population density, is more isolated and poorer that ussr.

MREs are shit because many of them seem like side dishes combined into a meal. Most of the euro MREs or 24-hour rats seem to contain more actual food. Don't know if burger soldiers could stomach pilot bread and pate though.

Also they are heavy as fuck and quite large for what they contain, probably due to the cardboard boxes. I'd like to see 3 MREs next to a Russian IRP for size.

Chinese rations are shit, and they have more farmland and a much bigger economy. North Korea is poor, cars are almost nonexistent, they're under sanctions and trade embargoes from most of the planet, few resources besides coal, and they've suffered multiple famines the last thirty years. Crayons, Elmer's glue (none of that knockoff shit), jalapeno cheese spread, meth, booze, and a gold star sticker that says "Good Job!"

Perfect for any muhren.

Seriously though. Instant coffee, tea, hardtack or shelf-stable bread, dried chili blocks similar to how the old US settlers out west used to do (or pemmican), some sort of shelf-stable sweetbread for dessert, a couple snacks (dried fruit, nuts, jerky), some caffiene pills/gum/candy, and a multivitamin-laced protein bar. Add a water filter, spoon, water/weather proof matches, hot sauce, extra spices, moist towelettes, smokes, and a esbit stove in an accessory packet.

How does this sound for a ration?

Wait, shouldn’t that be a good thing? Since you could just store them in a freezer and it’ll probably last as long as bacon would. The best ration comes from a mess hall and not a plastic sack. Feed your troops freshly cooked food whenever possible, never rely on MREs to keep a soldier happy, healthy, and effective in combat. I’d have to say the best MRE would consist mostly of meat and easily digestible sugars with a vitamin supplement on the side. This keeps soldiers happy and energized. If I had to outline it, it would look something like this:

Breakfast:

Chicken and potato in white sauce

Oatmeal with dehydrated fruit

Chocolate hazelnut spread

Blackberry Jam

Flat, dense shortbread cookies

Instant coffee

Whey protein shake

Cream

Sugar

Salt and Pepper

Tabasco

Vitamins

Book of matches

Soft pack cigarettes

Lunch:

Pork and Rice

2x varied meat spread cans

Rye crackers

Chocolate bar

Shelf stable skittles (or anything of the sort.)

Instant coffee

Electrolyte and Carbohydrate beverage powder

Cream

Sugar

Salt and Pepper

Tabasco

Dinner:

Beef and veggie stew

Teriyaki Jerky

Shelf stable bread

Shelf stable pound cake with nuts

Tea

Instant Coffee

Cream

Sugar

Salt and Pepper

Tabasco

Overall, lots of protein and creatine, carbs, with some fiber thrown in to keep things regular. Still though, get your soldiers a cooked meal as much as you can.

Watching Steve's videos, the one thing that strikes me about so many rations is that they're filled with essentially snack food without any sort of substantial meal portion to it. Two cans of pate, some crackers, bouillon cubes and some flavored beverage powder isn't enough of a meal for an office worker, let alone some guy out sweating his ass off in the field. I also often see an oddly large amount of candy in modern rations, which I can only assume is there to boast the on-paper calorie count. If I were to make a individual meal ration I'd prioritize a genuinely filling ~800 cal main, with only maybe one packet of crackers, one beverage packet and a couple sauce packets or something.

On a related note, in survival rations it's always just a bunch of hard candies that you're supposed to suck on. I'm sure there's a bunch of official bullshit reasons for why, but I can't help but think that a survival ration should literally just be a brick of pemmican rather than fucking candy.

it's because people in the field are expected to snack rather than sit down for a meal, and the candy is to just pack calories in cheaply.

modern rations often do have a proper main but it's a smaller portion than you'd get at a restaurant. the idea is that all the snacks get stuffed into your pockets and you eat them whenever, but the proper main is for when you really are just in transit or sitting about doing nothing else

>one beverage packet and a couple sauce packets or something.

even a proper modern canadian IMP has two packets of "sports drink" it's recommended to save it as dessert since its basically flavored sugar and some coffee and some instant milk or cream. meals are pre-garnished with things like plum sauce or soy sauce or what-have-you that's generally a bad idea to stuff in your pockets. stuff like peanut butter and jam and packets of salt and pepper are always available.

Curry rice and beans & rice w/sauce should be in every country's rations. They're both ridiculously dirt cheap to produce, provide a decent set of macros, and just cooking a tiny amount of meat scraps into them can make them 100x more appetizing from the sauces absorbing the meat flavor, even if it adds very little actual protein. Add some lentils and green peppers to the curry, and you're on your way to better quality food than half those soldiers probably eat at home.
