Did you buy it yet? You didn't mention what kind of engineering. Mechanical engineering needs no laptop, this i tell you. You might need to make 3d models, but unless you're in a racing team you can easily (and i mean EASILY) manage everything on the college desktops. It's comfy and ergonomic to use a desktop. I imagine it's the same for other branches of engineering too. ITfags should be able to get away with using the computers at college too. My brother who studied electronics/telecomm used his laptop a lot, using that one software to देसीgn circuits n shit. The number 8051 was his life and he'd use a serial programmer to program ICs. The game has moved on though.
Point being unless there are any special requirements that you have, buy any core i3 laptop with 8gb RAM and an SSD if you want it. Buy it used and buy a new battery for it. There, it will easily last you 4 years after which you can buy shit with your own money.

Anything below this and you're not gonna get a good gpu, anything above this, the price to performance will be low. This has a good cpu+gpu combo.
If you don't need gpu then get a 16gb ram + ryzen 5 laptop for 45k.
t. 80k laptop user and i haven't even installed any games because im always busy with assignments
