I've read approx. 25 books in my whole life and have been reading manga for a year or so. I tried reading a book 3 years ago and barely completed it, realizing I've become an autist and can't read such wall of texts anymore. Reading the same line again and again because I got distracted, reading paragraphs and realizing I was simultaneously thinking something else, so read it again and not to mention how sleepy I feel even with music in the background. But, I recently found out that there are graphic novel adaptations of books, so I'm reading sapiens (graphic novel) and a manga currently, on my kindle.
Last book I read- the hitchhiker's guide to galaxy
Last book I failed to read- sapiens and the divided self

anon, try getting into short stories. get some stuff by leo tolstoy, murakami etc. as you develop the habit of sitting through them, you'll inevitably end up seeking longer stories.
