Well. I want to essentially design a system on a chip, essentially a basic CPU and GPU that's capable of running code I write. Capable enough to, say, run something like Tetris. Then, I can show it off to potential employers and hopefully get a nice internship.

That is indeed the plan. My school hosts a thing where you have your own table where you can display anything you want, and employers are roaming around and come to you. This is what I'm aiming for.
I also want to build my own dashcam out of Sony spresense components that automatically uploads footage to my server when I return home, and that captures a bunch of telemetry from the car like acceleration, speed, gear, engine RPM, how much torque is being sent to every wheel, and what various other sensors are reporting

It is bullshit and pisses me off, honestly.
What she did was good, but all she did was be part of the team who wrote the rendering algorithm. I thiiiink she may be the lead of that team, but my info on her exact position in the group is from one of those articles. She didn't collect the data, she didn't deal with any of the telescopes in the array, all she did was help write the algorithm that turned the data into an image. The whole fact that she is getting all the press is an insult to everyone else on the team and from what I have seen, she did not ask for it nor is basking in the praise.

I looked around and it seems like she's trying to give credit to everyone else also, but I think this has to do with the fact that she posted videos on social media before the images being released of her rendering some of the photos. She even had the caption of first image I ever made of a black hole was in process of being reconstructed.
Nice to know it's the media though trying to twist the situation into something it never was. I love the media.
