As in, who is the core audience towards whom the game is being targeted, what is the genre of the game, and what do they want in a game?

Let's consider a yuri dating sim. Who's the core audience that's being targeted? Fans of yuri. What's the genre? Well, a yuri dating sim. So, what would the core audience want and expect to be in the game? Obviously, yuri with a bunch of cute waifus that they find attractive and compelling as characters.

Now, let's consider apex legends. It's an FPS with hero characters. Who's the core audience of FPS games? Males, the overwhelming majority of which are straight and mostly white. What do they want and expect? Good, fun combat mechanics and maps and gameplay. So, the "gay character" thing is something that the audience does not want to expect from the game, and adds nothing. It was tacked on for the purpose of virtue-signalling.

The race of the character and voice actor don't necessarily always match up. And looking at the rest of the cast, that seems to be the case for multiple of them.

It isn't just published by EA. EA owns Respawn. Granted, they were acquired through EA's scummy business practices, but it still certainly led to EA having a lot of say in what they make.

Games are political because a bunch of self righteous twats tried to demean the consumers that pour their hard earned cash into the industry. Many of those journos have never apologized for their slander and some studios have decided to align themselves with said journos instead of siding with the consumers or even staying neutral.

Pandora's box is open and I don't think things will go back to the way they were. Everyone is critical of games studios now.

This is not an issue in and of itself. Its just that its pushed and promoted as though it is some sort of virtue. Our game is good, or our company is good because we have a lesbian girl or a black, amputee, trans man.

The issue of race is odd to me as well because many, many games are set in fictional, fantasy lands. So even if the characters look white, they are not white. They are the race of whatever fictional land they come from.

Liking that a game has a particular racial representation is strange to me. If I extended that logic to the real world, that would mean that I would be happy to simply see brown people in positions of government. I really don't give a duck. Sensible people simply want the best qualified people to fill the available roles, regardless of gender or race.

Race, gender and sexuality is not virtue; nor is advocating for their representation virtue. If a game is light on story, then the people simply want good gameplay without the feeling as though they are being lectured. If a game actually has story, all I want is a repackaged hero archetypal story. I think all game stories boil down to hero stories. The value and virtue of a game (besides the gameplay) comes from the re-experiencing of heroic values that exists within the collective unconscious. I think the problem game studios may be doing is focusing on shallow external things such as race/gender/sexuality. When in reality the thing that define good game stories is upward progression and character growth. But those are things that probably even shouldn't be talked about in marketing as you can potentially ruin plot points, and is best experienced by playing the game.

I could be sort of wrong on some things because I only follow things peripherally now. But that's my take on the topic.

You copy blueprints from the facilities in the clan dojo so you can build them. Nezha is the prime example of that.

Clans have levels, roles, whatever you want to call them. Whichever one I joined, the 'new person' level did not allow you to copy said blueprints, which sucked.
