As we are only a rough 50 days from our next cup, we need to set foundations whats after that?
I'd say we need to put a junior cup and have a relegation promotion system, while it does mean it's another cup to host, It makes accommodating more teams easier. I mean another 16 teams mean we are at 48 which is perfect for this system, and we can let boards drop our and drop in the junior cup with interest going or coming. Besides there are a lot of good candidates to introduce to the cup, we even still have a Top 25 board still not in (/homosuck/, It's for homestuck, don't worry).
I mean this cup helps different communities in this site interact with each other so it can help smaller boards grow, we need to look into that.
I can easily think of many candidates for the cup other than /homosuck/
/m/, /jp/, /liberty/, /deutsch/, /aus/, /egy/, /x/, /ck/, /rzabczan/, /pinoy/, put /islam/ back in, /arda/, /adgd/, /2hu/ and /o/.
Most of these boards showed interest before, such as /m/ "/icup/ II", /liberty/ "/icup/ I" and /pinoy/ "8CC Cup"
I think we need to start our recruitment for the next cup form even now because taking 6 months to prepare for every cup is mental

The Summer and Winter alternation is good, but I see what you mean, something inbetween like Spring and Fall juniors would be nice. I agree the more teams the better because why not, however you would have to take into account activity on them. Maybe use the Juniors as qualifying for the big tournaments for all teams so it could mix things up. Just spit balling ideas.
I think slower boards would require help when organizing stuff, ones you mentioned like /m/, /2hu/, /ck/, and /rzabczan/. Boards like /aus/ and /egy/ have small but dedicated userbases so I could see them managing fine.
/homosuck/ isn't the only top 25 without a team however, you have /wx/ and /animus/ who fluctuate in and out of it. Tried asking /wx/ before, just don't seem interested. /hga/ could be a possibility but I think they're some avatar posters from 4chun that don't really care about the site. I think this could all be simplified down to boards in the top 50 to 75 should be considered.

/wx/ has no culture, I think someone posted that when the interest thread was made and /animus/ is a split-off board, so I really don't think they could produce something /a/ can't.
Also, I heard Slovenia offer the /intl/ team to /int/ and they didn't accept, which I find dubious and should try re-inviting /int/ to the cup
Only problem with a smaller cup between the big cups is that you need to find streamers which, If we can manage to /icup/ II with people other than Cotton, we should be fine.

Yeah I've come to the conclusion that /wx/ is just a porn dumping board for everyone, have their fap and then go. I believe the users of /animus/ have nothing to do with /a/, they were originally on a board called /aneki/ but migrated to /animus/, basically just a chatroom for anime avatar posters and trips, they use the /homosuck/ method of one thread at a time.
He did since /intl/ died when they moved to /ints/ and there they didn't want anything to do with the tournament. He offered it to /int/ but the users still there didn't really care/want the team. With /ints/ gone too I don't see that team returning. However it could be a fresh start for an actual /int/ team.
Also I thought some guy from the Netherlands or whatever was talking about possibly streaming too since he was on good enough speed.
I would like to know what would be a cutoff (size or activity?) for inviting boards to make teams.

Now that I think about it, I would really like to see a /fringe/ team one day, is smiley still around?
Also a /loli/ team to compete with /hebe/ would be interesting.

I'd say, 6 months of existence and 25 active users (give or take 5 due to board activity fluctuating) would be acceptable, I mean /arda/ is decently active due to ads but not sure If it will stick around after that, same with /nord/, while new they seem pretty healthy, If they can keep it up or even grow from their current state they could be admitted to the next cup
I don't think we need another pedo team or any fetish/porn team what-so-ever since they are image/video dumps and can't develop culture
I thought /fringe/ died up until now, yeah they'd be a better expansion candidate than /x/.
How is /4chon/ compared to /pol/? I know 4chon was created to harbor /new/ initially and now they are here, they must have independently developed culture since then.

What about inviting hispachan? They're not part of 8chan but they're a small dedicated chan of spanish speaking peoples. I think it could be interesting.

Maybe as a one-off where we do a 8chan All-Stars team and they make a team of their own.
We don't need to expand out of this site

Honestly an expansion to 48 won't be that good of an idea especially if traffic stays constant while Infinity Next gets initialized into site script in December. Even with some of the current 32 boards there's not that much traffic to be quite honest and even in the rest of the top 25 the only boards not in are /ggrevolt/ which is basically /gamergate/ anyways in terms of most of its culture, /next/ which is an informative board for Josh to hear back criticism, /hga/ which is a cuckchan circlejerk and is pretty much ded, and /wx/ which is a possibility but again they don't really have much board culture being a porn dump board.
Unless we get a huge traffic boost I think for now we can stay with the 32 we have and drop in and out some teams who may lose interest in the long term. At this moment there's still a lot I have to do for /icup/ II and I can't do too much cause I have school and exams in early December and if some things fall together and /icup/ II has a group stage (probably should have mentioned this before but /icup/ II might have a group stage now that'll expand the Cup to 3 weekends starting on December 25th) so the real focus that people can help with is to make stadiums and possibly to fill up adboards so we don't have all of the *Insert space here* placeholders when Christmas comes and also I still have to work on intro videos and the like and set up a time for commentator auditions so right now I don't think the focus should be on another expansion until 8chan gets another user boost or more activity with the sub-top 25 boards.

I'd rather 8chan Cup stick to 8chan teams. Also weren't they the ones who spammed /b/ a while back?

But mainly with regards to user numbers for other boards the main concern is that I already have a lot on my plate and would rather have everything for the current 32 done before thinking about more teams.
If you want to get the discussion started early then go ahead and make sure to have a thread to post info if needed.

I mean what so bad about using other chans? Hispachan is pretty small but it still more active than many of the boards present in the tournament. I think it would be fun and it would possibly bring more anons to 8chan.

BECAUSE IT'S THE INFINITY CHAN CUP, NOT THE CHAN SUPER CUP OR WHAT EVER BULLSHIT. UNLESS HISPACHAN MOVES HERE, THEY AREN'T GETTING A TEAM

/fringe/ is alive and well, they actually seem to stay at over 100 users or just under nowadays. I'm a bit surprised that /joosten/ which was made on the lead up to MGSV is alive and well at 90 plus users, just talking about the actor who played Quiet. /politics/ which had a good rise but has fallen stays at 70 now.
Look through the boards list and see which ones meet the requirements and what not. I guess the should have their own culture too. But lets wait until after this tournament wraps up.

You're going to see a lot of boards bleed users until Next, and struggle to recover afterwards. I know /sp/'s been hit really hard recently.

Yes that does have me a little concerned for future prospective teams, that's why it would probably be best to see what to do or the future holds/set requirements after this tournament.

Yes but that was an active board here deciding to represent a site.

I was thinking about this for the future, should the idea for prospective teams be limited to the top 100 boards (so there's leeway if a board is not interested/can't do it) and any ones that crack that can be asked as well or should everything be taken by a per board basis that has enough activity/own culture (unlike certain boards that are just used for dumping I.E. /wx/)?
