While it doesn't quite justify the sperging I too saw, TLoK is unquestionably one of the worst sequels and stories put to animation.
Here's the bullet points:
1) Pretty much every season has undertones of the most cookie-cutter "baby's first Communist Manifesto" turbo socialist logic.
2) Bending is turned into basically an X-Men type superpower that you can just get with great mastery from turtles; as a firebender you can have a fucking minimum wage bottom of the barrel job as someone who CASTS FUCKING LIGHTING, the most advanced and elite form of fire bending all day, in order to power a city. Oh and Toph's absolute next level achievement of bending metal, basically creating the Earth Bender equivalent of the firebender's lighting bending, is now just a thing that pretty much anyone can do, and there's an entire city where it's basically the official main thing everyone does, like it's an entirely new form of bending outside the 4 elements. Did I mention later there is lava bending? There is later lava bending.
3) The other Anon is wrong about the Kaiju fight. He probably scrub it from memory to protect his braincells, but Korra doesn't actually turn herself into Ultraman. Instead, one of the absolute non-variable daughters of Tenzin unlocks her hidden potential as basically the Spirit world's equivalent of Neo (no, the fucking Avatar isn't that in this show) and she's the one to become like a host of all the spirits in the real world or some shit.
4) The entire core premise of the previous show, which was that the Fire Nation at one point did something completely irreversible in wiping out the airbenders, something that put in danger the balance of the entire world, and would take centuries, even millennia to correct is undone in basically one move by accident. Korra, by basically forcefully lowkey merging the real and spirit worlds creates a situation where people start getting airbending powers. Yeah, you know how I said it treats bending like it's X-Men? This is one of the main ways it does that. Bending is now just a thing you can mutate to have, and then you can enroll in Professor Tenzin's school of the gifted.
5) Fourth season's villain builds the Avatar equivalent of the Death Star. I'm not kidding. She builds a giant mecha that the writers realized wouldn't work whatsoever in a world they created with thousands of people in it that can casually metal bend like it's nothing, so the villain makes her mecha out of "ultra pure steel" that has no earth in it. It can also fire laser beams that can level large swathes of land, and her motivation is to eradicate the Republic, and build a new Empire which shall be held together by fear. Fear of this new Battle Station. Of course it turns out that the technological terror she constructed is nothing, next to the power of the Avatar when she defeats it by bending harder than anyone bent before, as you might expect.
6) They killed off all the previous Avatars. Like I don't mean that they died, they were dead already. But a huge part of the Avatar was that he/she would get guidance from previous lives. In fact, they had to get guidance from previous lives to finish their quest to become the Avatar. But now they can't. Because Korra fucked them out of existence. She broke the Avatar form and now no future Avatar will have anyone except her to guide them.
Oh and 7) the "great" villain of season 3 is basically just season 1 villain with a tiny bit more rationality, and also they are written like they were lifted straight out of the shittiest parts of Naruto when it comes to their powers. They can just straight up fly because when they randomly received airbending thanks to Korra fucking up the universe, they meditated in a cell for a few months and achieved greater perfection with airbending that literally anyone else in recorded history.
There's probably more but I sperged enough and that was all I could think of off the top of my head.

2. This is one of the nails in the coffin. Remember how bending used forms and was not only a martial art but an extension of yourself you use to control the elements? Fuck you, now just punching someone can produce fire and S3 bad guy can float because he "forgot" gravity.
3.2nd nail, Raava and Vaatu. The fucking light and dark spirits that Roku mentions yet has no recollection in the original series.
4.3rd nail, Korra having absolutely no accountability. She pushes Spirits into the world then 3 years later regrets it and reseals them.
5.4th nail, inconsistant tone. Remember, Republic city is 70 years after the defeat of the firelord and they're already in the 1920s. They went from mud huts to cities and unless the entire world underwent some Meiji revolution where you know, outside powers had the technology to improve it at such a rapid state, it's doubtful they made it on their own.
6.5th nail, The killing of the previous Avatars. Aang no long exists. Which… hmmm, If MITY revolved around the overall story in that the cunt Korra unraveled the entire Avatar line and it was up to you, the next Avatar? Or some related to string it back together by training/having sex with the cast, that could work. Anyway, It's all Korra's fault and I hope she pays in slave path in book 4.
7. Last nail. Villains were pretty bad. Amon was good with his mask on however, a leader who wanted bring down benders for what they did to non-benders. You'd only have to point at the 100 years war for an example. Leading up to the unmasking there were fan theories that he had learnt a form of spirit bending and sealed away bending in others. My one was a modified Ty-lee style where he blocked the chakra pathways. But nope, he's a waterbender and he bloodbended them shut. What a waste.
All good points however bro. Also all the bloody pro-bending that meant nothing to the overall show.
