You definitely missed out on the heyday.
It was one of the more high profile titles in the early days of the scene. It was also one of the most genuinely exploitative games ever, that people were willing to put up with since there really just wasn't that much out there at the time. Nowadays we recognize stuff like endless teasing and never delivering on your content, cuck shit, insane grinding, requiring a walkthrough, and of course abandoning the project to be pretty standard hallmarks of a terrible game. Big Brother was a true pioneer by doing all of these things pretty much first and at the same time.
