I got stuck in an infinite loop. Because I wasn't able to trigger the midnight lecture or whatever, I restarted. Sure enough, I soon found the parents fucking on the couch scene pretty early, which never showed up in the previous save for me. However, after mom says she was going to check on me, nothing happened. So I went to sleep. But then mom was nowhere to be found in the house, and a lot of progress reset: couldn't go to the comic store, going to school triggered Effie asking me to visit her at work, the teacher asked how I liked school, and Jacob told me about the comic store. Even though I had already gone through all of that already. Then at night, the parent fucking scene again. Followed by the same nothingness. This happened three times before I gave up.

I get the feeling the only reason this exists is so the MC doesn't have a reason to just stay in the sex universe where everyone seems happy and day-to-day troubles don't seem to affect them there.

One thing that sucks are the invisible choices that are dependent on character stats. I only discovered them after accidentally deleting my save, restarting the game and maxing out stats before progressing any part of the story. Summertime shows when stat-checks are done and indicate if a choice is unavailable because of which. Uncovered just doesn't show the choice at all if a stat-check fails.

Another is the RNG checks. Story-focused VNs shouldn't have too much randomness.
