Same here. Loading a save crashes the game. There's a "recover" feature when you select "Continue from Chapter 1" in the menu, but you'll have to remember your choices and events from the previous chapter and enter them manually. Opening the chapter 1 walkthrough and looking through the branching choices can help refresh one's memory. You can play it normally from there.

A weird thing in the in-game menu is the "She is your…" and "You are his…" options (not sure if typo). I assume that here is where you're supposed to change the values to enter "daughter" and "father", respectively.

Today is a very sad day for us.

With much despair, I have to regretfully inform you all that DMD will no longer be available on Patreon.

Earlier this week, I received an email from Patreon’s staff, informing me that I would not be allowed to continue with the development of DMD on this platform anymore. They gave me the chance to continue this game on a different site, as long as it’s not related to Patreon in any way.

Initially, their team had planned to have my page completely removed from Patreon unless that I appealed their decision and gave a reason why I shouldn’t be banned and no longer able to create games on here. After three days, I finally received a response, where they were happy to keep my page open, but it has been at a huge cost - me agreeing to remove anything related to DMD from my page.

They have given me until Monday January 29th to remove everything that relates to the game. Otherwise, I would be banned indefinitely.

Patreon have allowed me to keep my page alive and continue on with a different project, but this time they want to make sure that there is no incest involved. I in turn have agreed to forward my new project idea, storylines and walkthroughs to them before they are published on my page.

When I received this news on Monday, I couldn’t work on the update to be able to finish it. I tried really hard, but I just couldn’t focus, given the tough decision I was left to make. So, I’m terribly sorry but I won’t be able to release v.17 this Saturday as promised.

I know some of you right now may feel cheated, angry and at a loss for words by reading this post. And you have every right to be.

Because that’s somewhat how I feel as well to say the least.

If the pledges are too low, the creator will not be able to devote himself to his task.

No. This logic does not apply in adult games because they are an aberration in the way Patreon works.

The logic of Patreon is this: an artist needs financial independence and there are people interested in it. These people make pledges to help the artist achieve financial independence. These people are not buying the guy's art, they are giving him the conditions produce it. If you see an artist whose goal is 10k, and he earns 30k, you probably will not make a pledge even if you're a fan of the guy because he already has what it takes to produce his art, and that's what matters.

In the case of adult games people are paying for the content simply. They are buying updates. Many of these people are addicted to pornography and don't want to wait 2 weeks to get access to the content they can have today. Because of this mindset, there are basically no limits to how much a gaming dev can earn. If there are enough addicts, it can reach 50k even though it needs 2k to produce the game (Mr. Dots probably doesn't need half of it to make his game).

Actually what I said is that the author needs to earn enough money to keep up the stimulus of producing the game. If he earns little, he will not have the incentive to continue. If he earns a lot, he will not have any incentive to FINISH the game. And that's the problem. In the normal games market, delays are things to avoid to cut costs. In the world of the Patreon pledges, delays become an instrument to increase the inflow of money, and this is not my opinion, it is a fact.

Of course, some devs are not lazy and will want to keep the game existing by adding new characters, side-quests, etc., but this is not a good solution either, you just need to look the series that have gone too far to notice this.

For every 5 minutes of artistic creation, it is 5 hours programming, adjusting the lighting in the DAZ, spending hours posing the 3D models, rendering hundreds of test images that will consume a good part of your day to never be used, etc. Most of the time the dev of porn game is consumed in activities as boring and repetitive as any shitty job.

If this guy has two options, work 100% of the time adjusting poses and lighting on the DAZ3D for 30k, or work only 50% of this time doing the same shit, but for 27k, you can be sure he will choose the second option.

That's why filling these guys with cash is detrimental to the smooth running of the project.

i highly doubt that. this is made in ren'py, an environment that is very easy to use once you have set up the mechanics, which this dev certainly has. writing the dialogue and story is something i consider just as much artistic activity as creating the visuals.

Honestly, I'm not even bothered by the lack of actual fucking of the titular character, since in a 'romancey' type game, a slow build up kinda makes sense, especially with the overcoming taboo thing as well, and, not so much with the adult coworker, since there's prior relation there, I find the other two girls who jump him at the first opportunity, especially with the waitress girl, who does everything she does after he orders a coffee this one time, a little off-putting.

DAZ3D. People use it because the program is free, easy to use, and it is possible to pirate the assets.

The problem: there are so many games made with renders from there that the market was flooded with garbage, which generated a rejection by the public. It's the same thing that happened with RPG Maker on Steam, for example. Most games are so bad that people do not even want to test the games that have the "rpg maker" tag.

Just like in RPG Maker, however, you can use DAZ3D and be able to stand out, but for this you will have to be creative and have a lot of work to get away from the "standard" art, ie trying to use other models, other facial expressions and other shaders.
