Remember this board? No? Well, that's because, besides it being incredibly specific and niche to have a board dedicated to a single band, this board was a piece of shit when it was last active. That said, we love Genesis, so we'd like to see if a /genesis/ board can thrive if it's actually taken care of with dignity. These games quite clearly require some frontiers, so here are the new rules, although they should go without saying:
RULES
-No CP.
-All NSFW images must be spoiler'd.
-Shitposts are fine if they're funny.
FAQ
>Is discussion of all Genesis eras fine?
FUCK RAY
FUCK GAYBRIEL
FUCK JIM
FUCK RON
AND FUCK NIGGERS.
>Can I discuss all the solo stuff?
Of course. Besides, the solo work of the classic five, you can also discuss the works of Ant Phillips and Ray Wilson, as well as Daryl Stuermer, Chester Thompson, and all touring members. Hell, you can discuss Kevin Gilbert too since there's probably an alternate universe out there where didn't die before Calling All Stations came out. There's so much solo work out there from the Genesis guys that they're one of the few bands who can maintain a whole board.
>Does Calling All Stations count as a Genesis album?
Yes it does.
>What about From Genesis to Revelation?
No, that piece of shit is a Jonathon King monstrosity and the band themselves have disowned it. You can still talk about it, though.
>Can I discuss other progressive rock bands aside from Genesis, such as Yes and King Crimson.
Try to keep it to Genesis first and foremost, but fuck it, it's not like there's a general prog board that's particularly active on 8chan, so have at it. I name Yes and King Crimson because there's various Genesis connections via Bill Bruford, Tony Levin (Solo Peter Gabriel), Chris Squire (Squackett), Steve Howe (GTR), and to a lesser extent Robert Fripp (A few PG tracks). The point is, Genesis members have collaborated with so many musicians in the prog world that it's not hard to discuss other prog bands while tangentially bringing it back to Genesis. If possible, that's how discussion of non-Genesis members should be approached. For example, you may like Porcupine Tree more than you like Kate Bush, but if you had to make a thread about only one of them, make the Kate Bush thread because of the Peter Gabriel connection.
That's all. Have fun.
