On Tuesday, June 23, Senators Graham (R-SC), Cotton (R-AR), and Blackburn (R-TN) introduced a bill (https://www.judiciary.senate.gov/press/rep/releases/graham-cotton-blackburn-introduce-balanced-solution-to-bolster-national-security-end-use-of-warrant-proof-encryption-that-shields-criminal-activity) that is a full-frontal nuclear assault on encryption in the United States.

Some people want to pay attention to what "other" people are doing, try to define them and their activities – try to paint them in a negative light, and try to control their behavior.
Others want to revel in the freedom to fulfill their potential according to the dictates of their own will, without interference from "others".
It's an age-old dichotomy and debate between those who celebrate freedom, and those who would strip away the freedoms of supposed "others" in order to control them in some way, not realizing the damage it does to themselves.

They are scared because they cannot set up their Chinese-style contact tracing social credit score mark of the beast police state without fully banning encryption, VPNs and Tor too. Encryption and data obfuscation tools are clearly in their way with this Mark of the Beast system! They'd rather destroy the internet as we know it, and do away with security than allow people to remain private online. It's why I always said, backup everything you need or want on the internet now (movies/tv shows/music/tutorials/information/etc) and plan to live without it in the future because communist governments are bound to destroy everything that made the internet worth while.
The real intention is to monopolize the internet like cable TV, so you can only see and access what is "acceptable" to the establishment (aka relentless propaganda, mindless social media drivel, commercialization / ads, idiotic cat memes and tutorials for switching multiple non-existent genders of-course). The day the internet dies in such a manner is the day I cut off service completely as I did with cable TV long ago. At least I'll still have my backup drives and DVDs.
