I really don't get this part of the fetish. Why is wearing this weird plastic fabric perceived to be sexy or desirable?
I'm fully aware it may work differently for different people. A bit part of the fetish for me is the worship of the "everyday" beauty of women, highlighted by e.g. heels, skirts, pantyhose etc. - all items of clothing that I see being worn 'in the real world", so to say.

Not my fetish at all, but I think it's to add the surrealism to it. Skin tight, shiny, as anon said smells like a new car. Not only that, our minds have become accustomed to thinking of it as clothing of power and dominance. To me a woman who would appear more submissive or less dominant would want to wear these clothing.

I do enjoy seeing a woman in latex and leather fetish-wear on occasion, but it would get old if it was all the time. Those fetish outfits are exotic and almost alien to the senses, from their look, their smell, the feel of them. Latex is so closely associated with fetish, that it feels like I am violating a taboo just seeing a woman in it. That makes it exciting to me. I also like the fantasy of seeing a woman wearing that and knowing that she doesn't show herself in that to just anyone. I'm getting to see her look and act in ways most people would never suspect.
It can be overdone though for sure. I've known women who might slip into latex once in awhile when the mood strikes, but most of the time are just as happy to dominate people while wearing sweatpants.

First of all latex is made of rubber, not plastic. Second of all it's form-fitting, body clinging material that accentuates the human form perfectly while not being completely nude. The shiny, smooth texture definitely helps for me. As though wearing such clothing shows they're proud of their body and emphasize that in their dress. It's also kind of just bondage tradition by now.
