Sponsorship dollars for one. I can see Red Bull believing they can get more performance out of the Renault Ilmor with Mobil 1 fuel instead of TOTAL. Mobil 1 may have better facilities, people, and investment to make Red Bull a fuel that would give them the engine. Mobil 1 also has experience with Mario Illien when he and Ilmor worked on the Mercedes engines for the McLaren Mercedes era, so that is something they could build upon.
Red Bull was able to influence Renault into taking Illien and the results proved it to be a very good move. With this, Red Bull can have more influence on the direction of engine development and to use a specific brand of fuel that they believe, is better than the TOTAL fuel they have now.
Renault's factory team in Enstone is also rumored to be a disaster with practically no leadership at the moment. If Renault decides to say "fuck it" and pull out of the factory team and decide to be an engine supplier only, then Red Bull would have all of the power and influence over Renault.
Keep in mind though, that Red Bull's influence would have pissed off Renault. Not only due to how it was played out in public and the massive shitstorms coming from it, but once Red Bull was shown to be right, which would really hurt Renault's ego. From the engineers making the engine, to a member of the boardroom talking about how much the brand got damaged. I can see them wanting to go to another team due to how bad it got, especially if they have to pull out of the factory team.
With that in mind, with Red Bull getting experience on how to influence engine development and having a major fuel supplier with a lot of good experience in Formula 1, they can more easily entice an engine manufacturer to make them an engine the way they want to. Add to that Red Bull can easily invest and influence Mario Illien and Ilmor, since Ilmor helped out Red Bull a lot this year, and Ilmor staying loyal to Red Bull, it becomes a lot more enticing for an engine manufacturer to jump into Formula 1 with Red Bull with instant success.
