In all honestly though dates are sort of boring unless there's something going on. To be honest, I don't RP dates for the sake of the date because it's not really interesting. I guess the best way to conceptualize it would be to find out what makes it interesting for you and write about that. It'll probably be 95% dialogue.

Can't really do a cutesy date if one character is a chick who really likes it in the butt and will fuck any time anywhere and the other is a repressed virgin with a big dick who's on the brink of going on a rape spree and that's all there really is to them.

The best way to get a date RP is to ask. Believe it or not, you just need to ask the right questions and go from there. If you struggle to progress a scene, implement an NPC that appears and moves the conversation elsewhere.

Embrace the awkwardness. Fumble around, be embarassing. Cutesy fluffy stuff is made of shame and silence. I've done many rps as a shy embarrassed boring guy and it's always important to have moments of silence, where the only noise between them is the rustling clothing and background chatter. The characters who can barely look eachother in the eye from their fingertips touching always make the fluffiest of dates. If you're looking for something more funny than romantic then having one character that's really teasy and dominant constantly forcing embarrassing cutesy things to get a reaction out of the other is fun too.

This is true. Even the bad parts of a relationship can be idealized when you're writing about it. There's no sudden jarring blow to your heart if you get dumped or cheated on like in real life.
