I'm wondering how popular this archetype is. Common themes include: jealousy, stalking, manipulation, gaslighting, physical or emotional trauma, fear and coercion, blackmail, murder, abuse.
Is there any interest in this kind of thing, here or on F-List? Does anyone actively seek out play based around these ideas? I looked around on F-List but I couldn't find a channel dedicated specifically to these ideas.

It’s not really as common as you would think considering it’s a -dere, but dependent on what aspects you play up I can see why there doesn’t appear to be demand for it. Maybe it’s just because I’m a gurofag so my mind shifts to brutal treatment/killing and possibly even rape of love rivals, which is an extremely niche market and even moreso because I prefer male on male. If I saw one that was well-written and able to moderate their edge (so, no existing ones as far as I’ve seen) I’d probably bookmark and possibly even approach a heartbeat regardless of gender and whether they shared my extreme kinks.

I'm usually rather vanilla, not counting a few non-violent kinks that are out of the ordinary. Anyway, I recently made a hardcore BDSM/gaslighting/psychological fuckery character. It's really fun, and I got the exact canon character I wanted as a partner day one. The one problem is that I'm extremely not used to the forcefulness. Just ask the other player, honestly. You can just ask them how far they want to go or ask for instructions like "I want my character to be beaten up by the end of this scene/rape would be good/etc." Until you're comfortable with it. After a while you just pick up your partner's general tolerance for roughness and it goes smoothly.

I ended up making a channel on F-List just so people with similar kinks have some kind of place to congregate. It's pretty easy to find if you search "yandere trash" in the private channels. Hopefully it will take some of the guesswork out of finding people who are into the same things as you!

As much as I love playing these themes, it's a bit difficult to find many people willing to dish it out without being… edgy, I guess? I searched for a partner for my kidnap-bait character some months ago and most males with the typical yandere kinks are either edgy self-inserts that you could see from a 12-year-old on dA/tumblr, Christian Grey clones, or are on either end of the extremes of too soft or too intense. I prefer a bipolar sort of play that keeps the victim in an uncomfortable limbo between love and hate. Stockholm syndrome, basically. The assailant lashing out and letting all their self-doubts and darker thoughts/urges out on the victim only to break down and tell them it's all out of love and that they'd never do it again while knowing full well that they will. Widdling down their partner's drive to want to run away and convincing them that their place was meant to be by their side, no matter how dangerous it might be for them. Having those moments where they seem like they could be the nice, ideal partner before showing who really has the control in the relationship. I've never considered going all the way to a mindbroken-esque state but I can't say I'm super duper against it.

it's a little hard to think examples on the fly, my brain works better when it's actually working on something. but mentioning scenes i've already done, one of my favorites included a morose, bullied reject and a wildly popular soccer 'goddess'. both schoolgirls.
it had bit of a mutual harm thing going on; the reject was an unstable masochist that began to take the popular chick's abuse as veiled affection, and took it almost willingly after some time. it derailed after she found out that the reason why the popular girl stopped giving a shit about her was that she got herself a boyfriend.
to make it short, a violent emotional outburst turned to rape, to cheating, and to blackmail. reject didn't want her beloved to just break with her boyfriend, no; she wanted him to suffer as much as possible for daring to steal 'her girl' away, and she wanted to punish her for betraying her trust like that. in the end, she pushed the boy to suicide, and traumatized the popular girl in such a way that her only option was to, you guessed right, also kill herself.
but reject didn't let her. every time she tried, she would be there, willing to help. popular girl would wake up in a hospital and the first thing she'd see would be the smiling bruised face of the reject lightly chiding her for trying to run away. that's the brand of despair i enjoy in writing yandere scenes: love that rots, but nurtures, and keeps you alive in a world that you absolutely can't and won't get used to for as long as you can feel her breath down your neck. to the point the color black itself makes you panic just because it's the color of her hair.
i prefer, in order, shemale/female, male/female, and female/female.

I'm not sure it counts as 'yandere', but I'm a fan of ships where it's some monstrous critter- I have dragons and foxboys for preference- 'stalking' and 'preying' on the female.
In the case of the dragon, being possessive and predatory and manipulative and scheming to isolate and claim and decorate her as a prized possession, dark-romance style.
In the case of the foxboy, less lovingly; seeing it as a competition and corrupting, defiling, and humiliating the woman a great game to engage in and test himself against. Possibly growing fond of her in the process, but possibly not.
