I just avoid using unicode in general because it has that dividing effect with exactly what you described. If you're going for maximum outreach then don't bother with stylized fonts because you might meet someone really nice who gets put off if they can't read your profile over something like that.

The fate rooms are all fairly cliqueish, but it's more a matter of just finding the right times to hang around so you can dodge all the "/me flops" people, or get around mods talking about extremely basic things as if they're the only ones to figure it out.

Avoid Fate/TM red district at all costs. It's basically just a clubhouse/circlejerk for the admin and he's not even shy about making it obvious. Fate/Roleplay has a lot of people who feel like underageb&s, Typemoon is the elitists who think they're too good for Fate/Roleplay, and then there's a Chaldea room that has people but is basically always dead. I've seen a BB Channel every now and then but it never lasts.

Female-wise, there aren't a lot of Anne Bonnies or Mataharis. There are a few, but most are inactive. Remember that most Fate players are EOP shitters or people who don't know the character and play what's popular. There of Ishtars but it's incredibly rare to see anyone actually playing them correctly rather than as "anthro size queen slut #7.131 who just attention whores in channels instead of actually roleplaying." I personally want to see more Tamamo but she has the same problem as Ishtar, people just play for the looks, they don't want to play the character.

Males, play whatever the fuck you want that isn't Ritsuka or Shirou. Someone earlier in the thread was bitching about Hakuno not getting any attention, but I'd love to play with an actual Hakuno instead of getting approached by Shirou day in and day out. Cu Chulainn is obviously popular, as is Astolfo. If you want to do something that's in demand but never gets played, make a profile for Iskandar or Diarmuid. Zero was the starting point for 90% of the Fate community so anything from that is going to be a home run.

I don't think there's anything wrong with that, especially since people who get really deep into Fate lore are borderline unapproachable, you get one thing wrong and they go full REEEEEE.

I have an Astolfo who I wind up playing as a modern femboy almost 99% of the time. Usually as a model or a stable boy or something else that makes sense for the character but doesn't make sense for a Fate setting. The characters are great but the canon isn't really conducive to lewd scenes beyond generic "mana transfer" and "master's away, the servants will play" setups most of the time.

Well, no, Fate's perfectly ripe for lewd scenes but only with specific pairings. Shirou can do a lot of things because of FSN and Hollow Ataraxia but you really have to stretch the story for most things. If I was playing Tristan and wanted to bone Mata Hari then the only way to really make that work is in FGO like what you described, or an extremely contrived fanfiction HGW where Mata Hari as Assassin attempts to seduce Archer. Some people can really get into that and I can totally respect that, but for more lewd/sex driven things you just have to ignore certain things or play them as modern characters/faceclaims.

How underrepresented is Enkidu? I think he's a pretty cool character but I've seen like 1 active one in the last few months and even he seems to have disappeared

The character limit is inconsequential and a minor inconvenience. The /me command does technically exist, but all it does is make your post italics, which is also functionally useless (and even restrictive, since it prevents you from using italics for emphasis in your posts.)

In all honesty, I would much rather write a post like an actual writer does instead of doing everything in italics for some mysterious reason, and, arguably, the 2000 character limit (which is about 400-450 words on average) is actually a good warning indicator that your posts are starting to get unwieldy and bloated.
