A lot of people like to complain about when someone takes a while to post, people like their RP quick and snappy yet filled with enough detail to satisfy their desires. It's not often someone will be content with a partner who takes around 20 minutes to write up less than 300 words.
But I do have a partner that does that, he can vary from less than 300 to over 500, but when we get into the rhythm of things we just take it slow and casually respond when we can. I like it because it gives me time to do other things without repeated interruptions since I'm often playing games or watching streams or some shit. Sometimes it's good to not have to worry about working under such a strict time constraint, I even find it relaxing. By the time we're done, we've had a respectable RP that either one of us can go back and look at if we want to.
Do you guys have anyone like that, or is the majority in favor of whipping out responses as fast as they can while preserving quality?

I force myself to write between 400-780 words in 10 minutes just so I can keep my partner's interest as high as possible. I like noteplay a lot because we can be more relaxed throughout, sometimes take an hour or two just to write a few paragraphs, but problem is not everyone likes notes.

I can write what, 3k characters in 15-20 minutes? I usually feel like I'm doing pretty badly, but with some partners is easy to bounce off of them with a lot more text than they give me. After some point unknown to me I lost the ability to write short posts without feeling like I'm missing something. Fuck.

No joke, on the 'unable to write short posts' part - I once lost a cool partner during our first scene due to that. They were tired from work and asked me to keep it condensed - I replied in the same time they did, but I was honestly fucking unable to keep it under 2k characters: the scene was pretty hot. I prefer long posts, I normally do 2 solid paragraphs if my partner can keep it up but can often reach 3 or 4. I find it hard to do less than 1.
Repeated short posts bore me. There's no point in being quick and snappy if you're not snapping anything meaty. On top of that the speed of posting and the length aren't correlated completely because it takes people time to read & think. I'd prefer a 5 minute post that's a paragraph long rather than a 2 minute post that's like 2 sentences.

I think a good rule of thumb is one line of text should equal one minute. So, the typical semi-para post should come out around five minutes, the typical para post around ten minutes, etc.
Less is better, but it shouldn't take more than that. I generally type extremely fast and I keep a clear picture of how the scene might play out in my head so that while my partner is typing, I'm already thinking of how my post is going to look like. Sometimes I get surprised, which is a good thing. Usually I don't. I've been type-fucking for over a decade and a half.
When someone takes ten or more minutes to type out like two lines, that's when I just end the scene, because this person obviously doesn't care, isn't engaged, or worse, is typing on a phone keyboard.

Thoughts your character has about those sensations, how their mind is changing, possibly memories
Then the same thing again as actions, why you're doing it and what you're hoping to gain by it.

The one thing that everyone else hasn't mentioned, which can be used to great effect, is emotions and thought. Sex is very emotional on top of being very sensual, and unless the setting is "Two randos meet at a bar and fuck and then separate" (which if it is, you won't have to worry about post length) there's gonna be some sort of emotional connection you can play on.

If you're doing long posts, you don't need to go multiple posts on one position either. Short posts are often "Sucking the head," "Now I suck more," "Now I suck it all," "Now you cum." all as separate posts.
