I'm not really a big fan of the mecha genre generally- not to imply I dislike it, but it was just something I've never gotten deeply into.
But this thread caught my eye and it suddenly put the idea in my head of a female pilot having sex with her mech. It could be sex in a more traditional sense, as in with a humanoid-shaped mech that has some cock analog between the legs, or with a female pilot taking a joy ride in a more literal cockpit.
Anyway, would anybody be interested in playing something along these lines? I'm pretty open to toying with the idea and could approach it from various angles; I just want to see if there's any interest in the basic idea first. Also open to trying to work in some canon setting if that's to your tastes, just keep in mind I probably know nothing about said canon and might not do the material justice.

I had a setting for mecha roleplay, not erotic, but just fun. The basis was that the setting was made of about ten different countries who had decided to settle shit with gladiatorial mecha-robot combat rather than wars, each country had specialties and combat styles, etc. Was quite fun and wouldn't be all that hard to run an ERP in the setting, especially since there were multiple leagues (Bus-sized mechs, house sized ones, and then like 25 foot tall ones for weight classes) and pilots could be pretty much any age since there was no united input method - you could have feedback suits or joysticks or mental readers, whatever.
One could also pay money for an arena to host an official duel with whatever terms both participants agreed to. It's a fun setting, one I built just for fun, but most of the meat is right in this post. The nations don't even have names or real styles yet.

To be honest, I don't have the same tastes as the majority of western giant robot fans. I can't stand most Gundam and most "real robot" shows I've seen, I'm more fond of human-sized androids and "super robots." That said, I have some ideas in mind.
The Virtual On setting has a lot of potential for lewd. To explain, the Virtuaroids are piloted by virtual means, so theoretically their pilots could feel every grope and thrust. I'd love to see Fei Yen or one of her upgraded models violated. She's the one un-piloted Virtuaroid, but it could be handwaved as a test-run or something.
As far as unique settings go, I'd love to see a plot involving an energy source that drives up libido. It could start as pilots being trained to withstand it, but an enemy weapon or one hapless teen falling into a prototype's cockpit causes things to go overboard and hot and heavy.

I recently managed to nab the name Plugsuit on F-List after the original owner (a Mari player) deleted their character, and I was wondering what I could do with it. There's something fascinating about the connection between pilot and machine, something unique. A good driver can 'feel' through their car. They know when a tire is slipping, they can sense the pattern of the road through the vibration of the tires, as if it's pressing through the soles of their shoes. The shoes aren't a part of us, the tires aren't a part of us, but somehow we extend through them. A good driver knows where the center of gravity is, can push through a turn with a minor adjustment, spin a car and know exactly where it will stop. Because you know when your hand would stop, when your body would stop. Your senses extend through the frame like clothing. You 'wear' the vehicle and you 'are' the vehicle. When people say 'he hit me' when they meant 'he hit my car'.
This sense of connection, of becoming the machine you're piloting, is easier for people to relate to with humanoid mecha. It's easier to think 'my leg', 'my arm'. Imagining the almost phantom-limb sensation of a missing arm, being so connected to a frame that you extend that arm to stop your fall only to find it's not there. So connected to a machine that it becomes a part of your reflexes. Being outside of your machine in the dark and unconsciously trying to flick the key that turns on your night vision or going through the motions to zoom a display only to find it's not digital. Growing so accustomed to a scaled frame of reference that you have a hard time coming out of it. That incredibly brief panic when you think you're seeing a 50 foot tall human being, only to realize you're not in your frame. You're on the ground, you're both 5 foot something.
There's similarities to a relationship, a synergy between two people or between a pilot and machine and feeling incomplete when they're not there. I've always wanted to explore this between a sentient mecha and a human pilot. That sense of connection and one-ness, and that sense of incompleteness and longing when its not there. Playing with the complexities of a relationship intermixed with the extension of self through a mechanical frame. 'Rideback' hinted at this teasingly. 'Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet' dipped into it without going far enough, but it's the closest I've ever seen. If anyone were to do it, it would be Shirow, but it's always been cyborgs. Fuchikoma/Tachikoma got close, but their childlike personalities always made it a side-story. Dipped a toe in without exploring the depths of the idea.

Several options:

Robots wouldn't really have 'pleasure centers' the same way humans or animals do, nor would they have them tied to parts of their body. Motivations for the machine might be curiosity, programming, or because their own sense of 'love' makes them want to bring their partner pleasure.
Few people would be into this, since it's kind of just 'machine jerks off human', though you could make it more meaningful than that.

This is a weird mix of all the others. With a special capacitive paint over armor or other body parts, a machine could 'feel' sensations. This would be useful for movement and proprioception (sense of positioning relative to other parts of the body/world), but could also be used to give the machine a sense of pleasure and/or pain. Similar parts/'organs' could be plugged in, giving stronger sensations and allowing them to give them to a partner. But nothing stops them from taking these same 'attachable organs' and using them externally or wirelessly. Picture a partner strapped into a machine that is working them over while feeding those sensations to a humanoid machine seated nearby, almost voyeuristically enjoying their own lovemaking. Add in some pleasure-sharing and you have a unique experience, something the 'one guy is wearing armor' scenario (or many of the others) can't give.
This is my second favorite, but still weird.

I always have an issue with this. I think most just picture 'metal human' when they imagine an android/robot/AI. Digging into it, I think it would be a lot different, and thus a lot more interesting.
Any sufficiently advanced AI would eventually have direct (or even indirect) control over their own programming. If we imagine a 'reward' subroutine, which gives them a feeling analogous to 'pleasure' when they do something correctly, they would eventually have access to this too.
Imagine a button that could give you an orgasm. Now imagine that when you hold it down, it gives you a constant sense of orgasm, as high as you can crank it. Every complement and good feeling you've ever felt, that sensation when your body relaxes as you relieve pressure while peeing, that sensation of accomplishment when you reach the top or barely scrape out a win above your opponent, that feeling of safety and security when in the arms of someone you can truly trust, all of them at once, never abating.
Why would you ever turn it off?
In humans, eventually our brains 'acclimate' to this kind of stimulation. Because our brains are chemical, and designed by selective pressure, and a human that fell into a drooling mass because they reached the cookie jar would never survive long enough to pass on genes. But in a machine (or even a human capable of altering their genome) there does not have to have this built-in restriction. That button could simply be held down indefinitely. Safeguards could be put in place, but that only delays the problem until self-actualization advances far enough to give them access to it.
This is why I favor the 'mind-sync' type scenarios. In a setting this advanced, I can picture machines thinking of over-stimulation as a human might look at hard drugs. It reduces their efficiency, and should be viewed cautiously. Those who dip too deeply in them might be seen as depraved or degenerate, worth less than a machine who can control their 'inhibitions' and still function.
Mind-syncing could be seen as a precautionary step. Allowing them to directly control this 'drug button' is dangerous, but doing it through the filter of a human's pleasure center would create a limit. They can only go as far as the human can tolerate. This could also be culturally encouraged, as it keeps machines 'grounded' and interested in human affairs, because their linked-partner is affected by this (and thus, indirectly, their own pleasure is affected).
From another perspective, this almost turns human interaction into a sort of 'drug' for machines. Everyone experiences pleasure differently, from the high peak of a male's orgasm to the constant wash of a woman's rolling pleasure. Every individual would be different, and require different stimulation. Half the fun would be gradually exploring someone's psyche, discovering what will bring them (and thus you) higher. A crude AI may simply make everything bigger or faster or more frequent, but a more nuanced machine might learn that dirty talk and denial brings their partner more joy, or that slowly flirting over the course of an entire day gently creeps that desire up higher until they're begging for a peak release. How well you can finesse out orgasm and pleasure could almost be seen as an art.
That sounds far more intriguing than just 'one partner is sort of wearing armor'.

Ask them. Talk it out. Some of those questions are specific to the person. They might like 'Brave' style mecha with a face and mouth, they might be more into Gundam style with a helmet-like face. They might be more into a really big mech or sometime a more approachable size. You'd have to ask them. I can't tell you what they like.
If it was me?
Option A: 7-9 foot tall mecha boyfriend. Brave-style, bulky, synth-flesh-metal face and mouth with some hand-waved excuse to give him tactile sensations and emotions.
Option B: Gundam-scale, with the partner being a pilot, and something like the Drift from Pacific Rim, where the two minds start to merge so the pilot and mech can react as one being. But drifting too close, or with too much emotion, starts to create complications. Either dramatic (being 'too close' is cautionary, so they have to suppress it in public lest they get sanctioned) or sexual (literally, you risk orgasm if you drift too close), depending on taste/interest/intention.
In both cases: An amount of dependency on each other, a lot of situations where one or the other is damaged and needs repair or healing but has to fight anyway. Definitely would include a good dynamic between characters, either where they clash or flirt or push each other's buttons (physically, mentally, sexually), maybe each goading the other on. Typical stuff.

On a somewhat related note of mechanical companions and death, ever play Fallout: New Vegas?
Besides having a literal sexbot that offers to ram your rear, there's a robotic AI suit in the game. It has a cute voice and talks to you while you wear it, it's clearly attached to you as if you ever take it off it usually responds with "Don't you like me any more?" or a saddened "I'll miss you..".
However, if you get close to death from damage while wearing it, it'll start blasting you full of medicine and painkillers while saying things like "Please take this, I don't want you to die". I always felt horrible whenever I died while wearing that suit, if only because I imagine the emotional distress it would be going through.

It's humanizing war and the atomic bomb.
Being human shaped makes them relatable. It's a little like a super hero outfit. Big battles where a human has zero chance of surviving, but there's a human shaped element to relate to still.
It's pretty fucked up if you dig into it. A lot of very early supper robot shows were obviously a metaphor for the atomic bomb, where there was one single human shaped monstrosity which could not be stopped and was described as being powered by cruely taming nature itself.
Later series got more subtle about this. Gundam being the obvious one. You have normal war machines, and people won and lost wars in them. And then you had the Gundam. Unstoppable by normal means, nearly indestructable, could take on armies by itself. But in contrast to other series, Gundam are almost always piloted by someone with some backstory that might make them compassionate. That might make them hesitate on the trigger.
If you look at every Gundam series as "What if the atomic bomb had a conscience?" they make a lot of sense.
But mostly, they're cool mechanical super suits. It's almost a superhero genre, but with big robots. Noteworthy to mention that not all mecha are mechanical. Some are summoned by magic or alien alter science or whatever, but follow similar themes.
Why is this involved in kinks? That's complicated, and no one above has been able to give me a straight answer. And my reasons are weird and no one seems to relate to them. So I dunno what to tell you.

I picture the mech being more sleek with curves that mimic humanoid muscle shapes than something with too many angles. Or he/it has a base form that would be sleek, and when it leaves its home/base/charging place it has more angular armor and weapons systems that can plug into it, so it can switch between something that would hurt to lie down on and something that wouldn't hurt to lie down on.

The fun of the story is that learning process for the robot. Developing its own emotions (perhaps even some unhealthy coping mechanisms) and learning accompanying human traits. Pulling the robot to a different level of thought and expanding its perspectives. There's room for so much emotional play.

I feel like people only think that because of it coming right after the end of SEED, where literally anything would feel like a relief.
