I'd say the tone was overall silly and lighthearted and I wish I kept a log of it. Basically the story began with the wild urban/stray Zorua peering in on Bianca ogling at a muscle/bodybuilder mag (the closest to porn she could read in a shop while under 18) and the Pokemon taking a suitable appearance based on those pictures. It uses it to get attention at the nearby beach as the stud in the speedo, prompting a squee-fest from Bianca whom as stated prior practically kidnaps to a trainer hotel since the Zorua is pretty clueless. All is well, since it's played as goofy, even with the Zorua!Man showing feats of strength for the eager girl like ripping her clothes off. The part we ended it at for now was her finding out the true form of her lover and squealing for joy louder than before. The current plan is to have her capture the willing stray as a protector/playmate and give it a good home.

This is gonna be a little hard to explain, but outside of gijinkas with specific gimmicks like pic related, I personally prefer when they lean toward feral mannerisms and anatomy. Sure, they're fairly sentient, but barring intelligent Pokemon like Oranguru or Alakazam, they're just not on the same intelligence level. They make animal noises, they "don't talk English good," they hunt their food and bathe in rivers and act like, well, wild animals. It takes a decent trainer to "housebreak" them and form most Pokemon into proper (almost) human beings in addition to battle training complete with language, obedience, using appliances, and not tackling you and licking your face or mounting you during heat without permission.

Felt like sharing this because I find it hilarious.
I was in the process of working on two different (basically polar opposite) profiles for a Tyrantrum and a Golisopod. They Tyrantrum was going to be playing up the "tyrant" part of their name, so fairly standard big mclarge-huge dom type for abusing others when I'm feeling sadistic.
The Golisopod, however, was meant to play around with the idea of how people tend to be afraid of bugs and think something that looks like it is a horrifying monster that would probably try to kill / beat / rape them into submission. The reality of it was that he's actually the gentle giant sort. Means well, but has difficulty showing it. I was hoping to play this up a bit and use that fact to add a bit of character development or humor to RPs.

By creating a secret jungle tribe that was actually totally a part of Alola and my character was totally a Trial Captain too you guys, you're adding to the established world, which creates gaps for other people, when you ought to be taking some section of the established world and reshaping it slightly to suit your needs. You're putting something new into the collective understanding of Alola, and saying "no it's not like how you think it is from the games and show, it's like this now."
So in a conversation about Alola, a character that should or would understand the setting is automatically wrong because of your existence. There will undoubtedly be remarks like, "well that's not how it worked in my secret jungle town, where people fucked Pokemon all the time and lolis walked around naked," and there's no argument to be had against that.
There's this character named Marrillandra or something like that, which exemplifies this problem. Their thing is that they're some sort of Primal Evolution keystone that make Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza Mega. It's loosely backed by one of the anime episodes. But, when she shows up, she always winds up touching a Groudon, Kyogre, or Rayquaza, forcing them to Mega. They don't want to, but there's an obligation to, because that's what the other person's character is and does. So they have to undergo a change to meet another person's specifications of how shit works. Then Sun and Moon came out and they decided not only were they some sort of Primal Crystal vorebait bitch, they were also the main character despite looking nothing like Moon, forcing an Alola Mom to recognize Marrilandra as their kid, doing the same thing over again.
The more you add to the existing world, the more other people have to uncomfortably accommodate those additions. Reflavorings of existing things, however, go down much more smoothly, because they're easier to justify for everybody involved. It goes from "I have absolutely no knowledge of any of this" to "oh this is slightly different than how I thought it was from my perspective."

I'd pose a similar question: Would you use Pokemon on someone else in your RP as a means of displaying dominance? It doesn't have to be simply siccing a Poke to fuck a Trainer you detained. For me it's about the nature of the setting and what human interactions and relationships are like within the setting.
There is minimal parental supervision and kids can end up going on very big adventures traveling long distances without anyone telling them what to do. As someone who likes to roleplay as a young adult, this is ideal for me. I only play opposite adult characters, and the lack of supervision of my character makes it much easier for our characters to end up living or traveling together in some capacity.
Another appealing aspect is that the setting has an easy but dramatic system for resolving conflict: pokemon battles. It's far, FAR less lethal and edgy than characters drawing swords on each other or shooting each other, and for some people that's a plus. The pokemon also do a lot to just give the setting its scifi/fantasy feeling. If you're like me and you have a soft spot for pets (though pokemon aren't animals or pets) it's also extra fun to play in that setting.

I don't know what it is about Pokemon but it really does seem to attract a special crowd. It works great for out of the blue situations, but there's so many strange variables that do worse when talked out. Why can you talk and where do you live without a trainer are common ones, settings can be a mess too. Not much reason for a Gardevoir to exist in a completely human filled club scene or something of the sort. On the occasion someone doesn't immediately blow it, I've had some really great scenes! So I guess the whole party is hit or miss.
Off note, I'm surprised how many Gardevoir profiles are banned, maybe it's just the one that attracts shitters.

What I do for the whole setting thing is whenever I play a Pokemon anthro, I just set them as their own 'fantasy race' or whatever in any scene. when I use them. I have a Roserade and if I need to use her outside the PKMN setting I can easily make it so she is just some plant monster. There are probably better ways to pull this off, but its how I'm able to work it with my Roserade.
