This works great. I'll use mind hand and far sight to win big in the casinos and maybe use the far sight to do some insider trading with the winnings. I also have a /fit/ apprentice to serve as my slavegirl/concubine and move my bound life force item around wherever I need it to be. The item will probably just be a large steel orb; tough enough that I don't have to worry about it breaking, not valuable enough for anyone to go through the trouble steal, and convenient enough for Emma to move around should I need it done.

So, I am a really hard to kill being that can withstand a lot of punishment, and has a great many ways to run away. With Blink I can get into some really hard to reach places, and teleport away whenever I want. I could be an assassin. I could be a miracle healer. I could be a discreet courier, an ultimate reporter, truth exposer, spy, thief, soldier, anything. In our times, when there is a photo of everything, I could appear anywhere and do whatever I desire. And after I build my vault and hide away my immortality block, I am pretty much free to live as I want, with very little to stop me.
I would probably use my powers to learn about the background goings on of the world, and to live an easy life. Maybe when I'm bored, I'd travel to SJW campuses and become a serial killer, Jason style.

That other guy's got the right idea, definitely need Mind Hand so I can interact with the world when not in a body. Regenerate so I have something to entice prospective hosts with. You want your leg back? Just let me in. Stem Bleeding because a dead host does me no good. If there are no hosts around, I can possess a Golem or Transform into a water elemental. (Where water exists, of course. I wouldn't be able to make water out of nothing, being unbound I would basically be possessing water instead of transforming into it. I'll spend my last point on Float to keep hosts from tragic gravity overdoses. Because I prefer to keep people alive when possible.

Summary
I tried to acquire as much power as I could without compromising my morals. I do not think that sacrifice is an inherently evil way to achieve immortality as long as I do not sacrifice the innocent. I could find a man who has been charged and found guilty of murdering children shortly before he is put to death. I could use dominate on that man and command him to tell me if he actually murdered those children or if he has been falsely accused. If he declares that he's guilty, then I'll steal his youth. Alternatively, I could walk through a Detroit ghetto with money visibly hanging out of my pockets. With steel skin I am in no danger of being killed by a thug with a gun. When a mugger tries to steal from me, I would refuse to give them my money. If they shoot or stab me, then they have shown me that they are willing to murder somebody to steal their money. At that moment I'd cast dominate on them and have them walk with me to a private room, where I would steal all of their lifeforce and kill them.
If murder-hobos attack me without even giving me a chance to explain myself because they sense abyssal energy on me, then as far as I'm concerned I'm fully justified in defending myself. I wish I could have taken assassination for those extra points, but I don't know if the noble truly deserves death, so I couldn't.
I took planeshift for when an extinction level event threatens the Earth. I intend to live for a very long time. If anything pierces my steel skin I can regenerate. If its a very large wound I can stem the bleeding to stay alive while I regenerate. I can blink out of trouble in an instant, go invisible to avoid trouble in the first place, and/or fly away. Counterspell will be useful if there's magic in the world that I shift into. Flames, arcane bolt, and blast are my offensive weapons. Mind hand can both be used offensively, defensively, or just for convenience.

The thing about sacrifice is that it ties you to urban civilization. You need a lot of disposable people. Let's give an asspull estimate of the average number of years you can get out of a person as 60. That means you can get about five years of life per person. And going younger doesn't work out better if you're targeting the morally incorrigible, because they're more likely to be in violent environments and less likely to live long. So yeah, you can just go back to Detroit for twenty targets a century, but you HAVE to go back to Detroit long enough for twenty targets a century.

Well remember dude this is a low level wizard, so obviously all the options could be better. Out of all of them though, sacrifice is the best. Undying sucks because you'll be living in constant agony for eons, bound and unbound suck because you must have someone to be able to help you. I guess if "object" could be something that will last a long time and is immobile like the great pyramid or mount everest it wouldn't be too bad, but something like a chest or a mirror or some trinket would be pretty impossible to keep going unless you found someone else with the same exact problem and helped each other out every year for eternity. Unbound relies on people helping you, and you might get some shitty bodies. You also might be forced to stay in the body until it dies, so you'd have to go through aging and cancer and shit over and over. Sacrifice wouldn't be bad as long as you keep your body fit and young and you make sure to always have the upper hand. You'd only need a small population maybe tens of thousands to have victims without getting caught. Anything short of every human dying wouldn't be too much of an issue. Hell if I had that power right now I'd just find some war to go to and drain the life of some soldiers who were going to get a bullet anyways.
>>6761
Won't matter unless you choose undying because the other forms of immortality rely on having other humans around. Besides I'm not sure if I'd want to continue existing after literally trillions of years. It really depends on what a "dimension" is, like are they quantum physics things, magic things, parallel universe things?

Unbound
Why wouldn't you pick unbound? You're not bound to a potentially lose-able/destructible item. You can just swap to a new host body when you're current one is too damaged or you get bored of it. You don't have to kill anyone to stay young and the shenanigans you could pull are endless. I surmise getting a body wouldn't be that hard.
> befriend people in dreams and offer to help them out if they're going through hard times
> find a CYOAfag and tell them you'll planeshift the both of you to [InsertFantasyWorldHere] if they consent.
> be a vigilante and mindbreak criminals through endless lewd nightmares until they consent into letting you posses them. Guess you could do the same to anyone if you wanted to take their body with relative ease.

The probability of this world ending is too goddamn high so I'll be on my way thank-you. I assume I have relative control over the kind of world I plane-shift to. World-hopping at random would suck.
Drawbacks
[+10] Hunted
Why Hunted? Well I possess people, regenerate, have inhumane endurance, strength and durability. It would be weird not to mistake me for a demon. On the plus side, finding me will be almost impossible (invisibility) and on the off chance they do, I will smite them into oblivion from the skies.
If all else fails, the worst they can do is kill my host body. Plane shifting to a world overrun with lewd demons and degen monster girls ought to be my safest bet.

I beg to differ. Unbound + Perfect Form make a great combo. You could turn the shittiest drug/cancer/ebolaids riddled body into a schwarzenegger out of 10. Just give the first poor sap you find the whole "I can grant you great power" shtick and they'll eat it up like gravy.
Pretty sure unbound implies you can un-possess people hence the whole "you only need consent once per victim" spiel, but If you are forced to stay in the body until death just kill yourself when you feel you're past your prime.
With sacrifice you are still technically mortal (just eternally youthfull), so a car crash or a bullet to the head would be game over. Not to mention, getting caught and hunted by police endlessly would suck. At least with unbound your actions to retain immortality are always untraceable.
> Besides I'm not sure if I'd want to continue existing after literally trillions of years
This is probably the only downside I can see, but if you haven't discovered a way to end your existence after trillions of years you probably deserve to wallow in your suffering.

Well yeah, I did choose unbound. As for the meaning of "dimension", pretty sure in this context and since it uses the "Sliders" image, it means other worlds. And since it implies it could be abused deliberately to gain power, that travel is directed. So if you meditate on a universe where you could easily gain some sort of power, you could travel there. But our dubious benefactor will be watching and will ensure it won't be as easy as you plan. However, if you want oblivion, simply meditate on a world where you can destroy yourself somehow and go there. I'm sure they'll have no problem with that. Also, there's nothing that says you can't go to worlds where you can expand your powers, it just says it can't be easy. It has to be earned.

Immortality: Sacrifice.
I'm okay with becoming a serial killer if it means immortality and this is the closest to obligation and drawback free of the options. With planeshift I can even do it in a dimension I don't like visiting much. Good luck catching someone who only shows up for a few days each decade.
Level 1: (3/15)
Arcane Bolt. Always good to have a weapon on hand.
Stem bleeding. A lifesaver if things go badly.
Perfect sight. No more glasses, plus night vision that compares to modern top-end NVG, with infra-red on top of that.
Level 2: (10/15)
Steel skin. Bullet and stab-proofing. You can never be too well protected.
Boost strength. Tougher body and strength to match. Improves steel skin too as tissue damage from impacts will be reduced.
Perfect form. All around excellent health is nice.
Haste. Action economy FTW.
Invisibility. This one is pretty OP. Even if you assume it stops you being visible via thermal, you still have at least an hour before your body temperature reaches dangerous levels.
Level 3: (8/15)
Regenerate. More survivability, plus the ability to heal others. Maybe use that last bit to start a cult or something.
Fly. For the mobility, plus it's fucking awesome.
Enchantment: Planeshift.
Even if using it to get powerups isn't an option, it's still countless other worlds to explore. It's also a bug-out option if this one really goes to shit. Maybe find a primitive one and declare myself god.
Drawbacks: (+6)
Dogsbody. I can put up with a decade of bullshit if it means another superpower.
Assassination. Phenomenal cosmic power (relatively speaking) in exchange for killing someone? I'm going to be killing people anyway, given my chosen method of immortality. I might as well get a little extra out of it.
The power the others offer is tempting, but I don't like permanent obligations.
Total points: 21/21
So I start off needing to kill someone for the wizard before heading off to be his lackey for a decade. They'll be guarded against magical threats, but only mundane physical ones. I can use flight and invisibility to raid a military base and steal a couple of anti-tank missiles. After some practice (at a safe distance) making sure I can use them properly, find and kill his chosen target. Maybe hire a PI to try and track them down, they'll no doubt be better at it than me. After I'm done assisting the wizard with whatever, head home to get reacquainted with things. Maybe I'll have learned a few things about wizardry in those years, but it doesn't mention what I'm helping him with. After that, start exploring the multiverse and generally fucking about as an invisible, flying uberchad.

Only if you want to go to a different solar system and even then you could get to Alpha Centauri and back in about 57 years, though you'd go insane from the time spent in an empty void.
For example, Voyager 1 is the most distant object in the Solar System (depending on your definition of where the solar system ends) at ~21 billion kilometers. At 1g of constant acceleration starting from Earth you would reach it in about 34 days. The hard part would be aiming for it. By the standards of modern space travel, 1g of non-stop acceleration for interplanetary travel is insanely good.
I'm assuming you're getting around life support by taking Transform and turning into a chunk of stone or something.

I'm curious why you think that an unbound spirit is invulnerable. Who says that a spirit can't be destroyed? In fact unbound may be vulnerable to attacks that the other forms of immortality may not be like exorcism or holy magic. If the unbound spirit truly can't be vanquished by any means, then that's even more frightening. Who is to say there is no magic to eternally imprison unbound spirits or banish them to another plane? The potential for an eternal bad end is too high with unbound.

Ok so first off apprentice is OP you get 2 more sp than with bonus points plus a qt fucktoy+secretary+maido. The only thing that even comes close is planeshift because you can go visit cool places.
Some of this shit is too unclear and its triggering my autism. For example sacrifice do you actually have to kill them or can you just drain the years out of them and can stop before they die? Also do you need an hour ritual per year you drain or is a single ritual enough to drain x years of your choice? Finally what happens if you drain the assistant girl? She is always 16 so does that mean she has infinite life energy?
Is there some sort of limit or casting time to these spells because if not even assuming you can only cast one spell per second the level 2 blink spell is 5 times faster and in all aspects far superior to the level 3 fly spell.
Does dominate only allow you to use it once or you can use it as much as you want but only on one person at a time?
Regenerate seems to invalidate the flaw of undying and before you say it doesn't keep in mind that perfect form explicitly says its incompatible with undying but regenerate doesn't.
On call and hunted are absolute dog shit because you are immortal which means you will be on the hook till the end of time. Compare this to assassin which is a one time thing and dogsbody which is a mere 10 years (nothing to an immortal) and may give you an opportunity to learn more about magic.

Even if she's perfectly willing to use spells on your behalf, half the fun in magic is doing it yourself (plus lots of spells are target=self). However, combined with Unbound she is indeed OP, since you can easily possess her immortal body and use her magic. It doesn't say you get to pick her spells. Considering she's been an apprentice for a while she's probably got whatever the wizard found useful.
I'd assume sacrifice kills them and adds their remaining lifespan to yours at the listed rate. No idea what killing the apprentice would do. Maybe her lifespan is recharging, rather than infinite, so you only get the benefits of sacrificing a regular 16 year old?
Other than the line-of-sight restriction blink does seem to be better than flight, though flight lets you move faster if you have a way around surviving at higher altitudes.
Dunno how well regenerate would mitigate the effects of age, but all of the forms of immortality come with some kind of drawback, so I'd assume it doesn't work that well at fixing age related problems.
As for dominate, it says while under this spells influence', not 'once cast' or similar, so I'd assume you can switch targets. It would be a pretty shitty power if you could only use it once.

I think for the sake of the CYOA it's reasonable to pick her spells. At the very least you should know what her spells are before you pick yours and overlap them. Regardless, like I said earlier there's a big difference between her casting and you casting. Would you rather be super strong, or have a super strong girlfriend? Would you rather fly, or watch someone else fly? Would you rather shoot fire, or get someone else to do it?
Also, Shapeshift/least shifting is better than Fly. For half the points or less you can turn into a bird, and there are a number of birds that can get over 200kph.

With Flying you don't have to (always) arrive naked and without any gear, and no bird can propel themselves in space.

Birds can only achieve those kinds of speeds in a dive. The fastest bird in level flight is a needle tailed swift and it can only reach ~170kph. That's also a form too small for you to turn into as you can only go down to 1/10th your mass. Only an albatross or golden eagle are really viable as fast moving bird forms so your top speed in level flight will be ~130kph. This might be at altitude too. This is the fastest they can manage, so you'll probably quickly tire yourself out flapping if you try and use this for long distance travel.
Flight by contrast lets you do 200kph, or 1g if the air is thin enough, with no indication this takes any strenuous effort. Terminal velocity at sea level is around 200kph, so it might just be 1g of acceleration in general. If you have Transform along with it you can turn into an earth elemental or something and ignore breathing. Only teleport is faster than a suborbital hop.

Fair enough. I tried to look up non-dive numbers but couldn't find anything. A few points though:
>Shapeshift has no lower limit for the original animal. You transform into a version of that animal scaled to between 1/10th and 10x your mass. You could be a giant needle tailed swift if you wanted.
>How does bird speed scale with size? As above, you can scale any animal up to 10x your normal mass. Would a giant Albatross be faster or slower than a normal-sized one?
>Boost strength. It's something I'd get or at least heavily consider regardless, so I don't consider it to be an extra cost here. With boosted strength, durability, AND size, I think you can get significantly higher speeds. Like Fly, I doubt boost strength takes any extra effort.
>Also to counter >>13807, a bird with a backpack doesn't sound that farfetched, especially with boost strength.
