If the clones have exactly the same effects as my clones, then anything I can do with my clones I can do with those clones as well. That's a power YOU have, and since the clones made with three's a crowd behave and function in exactly the same way, YOU control them as well.

Are you retarded? Leapfrog allows you to jump between your clones. Telepathy allows you to communicate with your clones. If it's someone else's clone, it's that person who will be the one able to communicate with it telepathically, not you. Or did you think that 'however' in "However, you can desummon their clones and give them orders" means the same thing as 'also' or 'for example'?

So with eight clones and fractal we get 8+8*7+(8*7)*6+(8*7*6)*5+(8*7*6*5)*4+(8*7*6*5*4)*3+(8*7*6*5*4*3)*2+(8*7*6*5*4*3*2)*1= 109600 clones. With 5 clones and fractals you get 1956, I think this ability wasn't really thought well.

Except that you pulled it out of your ass. The card itself doesn't mention drawbacks at all, so "however" can only refer to the preceding statement and/or the default/majority of the options (that is to say, unless you pick those particular drawbacks, there's no "however" to be had when it comes to this).

And, again, I've seen the author of this CYOA clarify the effect of this option himself (and even its relation to stuff like telepathy/hivemind which I specifically asked him about).

Just think about it yourself; not only does your interpretation stands out as a "free meal ticket" out of nowhere (being extremely generous compared to the rest of this CYOA, while the cost isn't much different from the other options), but it also breaks the core mechanics, making these drawbacks almost entirely pointless (as they would only apply when you're making obedient clones of yourself, when you can make clones of other people that are identical to yours in every aspect besides their bodies and memories).

The part you are missing is that only the clones get powers, not the person you cloned. Hivemind and Leapfrog are You powers, not Clone powers, so the person you cloned doesn't get them. Since the clones still have them and they must work the same way, that means you can still hivemind and leapfrog into those clones of other people.

No where in three's a crowd does it say that the person you clone gets any powers themselves or is otherwise altered in any way.

Even if you weren't arguing something compeltely stupid, there's still the fact that I have Merger, which doesn't create a clone as if it belonged to another person. Merger clones are my own clones as normal.
